I think I am starting to grasp the logic.
OTF we are even in terms of equity against a range he could possible have (QQ+,A7s-A2s,K8s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T9s,98s,87s,76s,A9o-A4o,KTo+,QJo). I don't like folding here coz that would too tight. The option is to raise or call and reevalute our hand OTT. But even if we see a relatively safe card OTT there is risk that he bets the turn that is why am more inclined to raise him OTF and give up on further streets.

You shouldn't have opened that hand in early stages, tbh low suited semi-connectors are not that profitable to play with in SnG's it'd be better to do so even with random Kx. Let's say you did, what's the purpose of raising, if he bets two streets, he has Ax or better, raising for information is burning money.

I would also fold 97s. If you was on the button I would open it with the passive players in the blinds, but now with the big stack on the button it’s likely you will play OOP against him and that could end up ugly.

As played I would call 1 street with middle pair and fold most turns unimproved if he bets again.

Much more important to save chips early on the tournament so you have enough fold equity for your pushes and raises mid/high blind. Just fold the 79s
