The plan for tonight was actually to go and play a live game, but I won a satellite to the Big 11 and ended up staying home playing that for a min cash as well as some zoom tables on the side.

Up until now I have been playing FR, but I have seen more and more players from the FR community change over to 6-max and I can easily see why as it’s a much more fun for recreational player compared to FR. So today I decided to give the 6-max zoom pool a shot and it turned out pretty great. Before I went to the gym I played a short session for about an hour where I won 2 BI’s and tonight I won another 3 BI’s. I ran extremely well in AI situations although a lot of them were pretty standard. I had a few nasty beats like the hand below where I was certain villain couldn’t have a better house, but I was wrong..

Overall it was a pretty good session though. I ran really well and I’m really happy with the way I played. I really don’t like to fold hands pre, but I have tried to be more disciplined and I think it is working out pretty well so far. I might take a look at a few situations I was thinking about during my session.

Btw. I found this super chill song today that I have had on repeat for most of the night.

Weekly review

Sunday is always one of my favourite days to grind. Lots of tournaments, lots of recreational players and lots of action but Sundays always seem to go something like this..

As you can guess I would like to move on from yesterday. I got of to a horrible start where nothing seemed to work out for me and I lost 6 BI’s pretty quickly, but somehow managed to get up from the computer and got in a gym session for an hour before they closed. Came back and started to play and run a lot better, still only managed to break even for my second session after being up being up 4 BI’s at one point. I also won a seat to the Mini Sunday Million where I didn’t cash.

Results for the week:
- Cash game + $12,18
- Tournaments - + $3,64
- Bonuses - + $8,4 (shares of “The Deal” Jackpots and J’s or better)
- Total - + $24,22

I played a total of 11,131 hands and 22 MTT’s.

Overall looking back at the week (days since I started the challenge) I’m really happy with how things are going. Sure, the results could be a lot better, but I’m starting off from scratch here and I’m just finishing up memorising opening ranges. I’m aware that every part of my game needs to be sharpened up and I think knowing that is the first step to getting better, the next step is to set out a plan for how to getting the learning/improvement done and step 3… well, you guessed it. Get to work!

My plan for this week:

Life goals:
- Gym - 5 session
- Watch my diet
- Less than 2 sodas

Poker goals:
- 15,000 hands
- Study 3b ranges, CC ranges and BvB play
- Take a break after every 90 min of play

Weekly review

I have been working really hard the past week, yet I didn’t manage to succeed on all of my weekly goals. I’m still pretty happy with what I managed to get done during the week. During the week I got up three times at 5 am and went to the gym before going to work and got the other two gym sessions done on the weekend as I had planned. I also managed to get in some good volume, but didn’t get to study as much as I would have liked to simply because I couldn’t find the time. I feel like I learn most when I play because it gives me a chance to figure out where I don’t know what to do and I will then review these spots after my sessions or note them down and look at them when I have time.

This week I mainly focused on improving my button play as I was not happy with my win rate and after reviewing some different situations from the button I think I came up with some good solutions to what seemed to bring down my winnings. I made the changes and since then I feel a lot better about my play and the results have also been a lot better.

Results for the week:
- Cash game +$36,32
- Tournaments -$19,12
- Bonuses +$5,02
- Other -$3,43 (playing on my phone)
- Total +$18,79

I played a total of 17,773 hands and 12 MTT’s

My plan for this week:

Life goals:
- Gym - 5 session
- Watch my diet
- Less than 2 sodas

Poker goals:
- 15,000 hands
- Study CO play and BvB
- Keep takeing a break after every 90 min of play

This has honestly been a pretty lazy week from my side. I didn't play a whole lot, didn't study enough and only got to the gym three times. This is partly caused by laziness and Call of Duty, but also some work related stuff, so although I wish I could have done better I don't mind it that much.

The biggest flaw in my game right now seem to be my non showdown winnings where I'm losing 28,64bb/100 the past week which is a ridiculous amount. I have tried to look at a few things I could change in my game, but it doesn't really seem to effect my non-showdown winnings a whole lot. In order to move forward I have decided to hire a coach to help me out, so from this weekend I will start on a 5 hour package which hopefully will help me improve my game.

Results for the week:
- Cash game -$2,52
- Tournaments -$15,70
- Bonuses +$1,00
- Other -$5,60 (playing on my phone)
- Total -$22,82

I played a total of 9,758 hands and 5 MTT’s

Poker goals:
- 10,000 hands
- Keep takeing a break after every 90 min of play
- No MTT's
- Stop playing on my phone

I will try to get a better update in during this week, I just wanted to get a short review from the past week out early on this week.

Weekly review:

Another week is in the books which means it’s time to look back and reflect on the things that have been done or the things that have been neglected this past week.

I want to start off by saying I know I’m not good at updating the blog, but I enjoy making a weekly update as it somehow make me feel more committed the weekly goals I have set. This week for example I only got to the gym 4 times, but if it wasn’t for the fact that I had already written here that I wanted to go 5 times I would probably have skipped another session.

I have been taking part in The Bankroll Challenge for four weeks now and I’m pretty much back to my starting bankroll of $200 after another losing week. I have however managed to save up 7,5k StarCoins which add's a few extra bucks to the bankroll.

I mentioned in my last post that I was going to start working with a coach in order to improve my game and so far it has been made clear to me that there is definitely room for improvement in my game which I’m honestly happy to hear because it gives me something specific to work on. Up until now I have been way passive in my post-flop game considering my pre-flop strategy, so my main priority is to take my aggression to a whole other level. There is obviously also other things that needs improvement such as 3b from BB.

I will this week primarily work on cbets simply by reviewing as many hands as possible and plug-in my desired ranges on each street. I will also try to look into 3b ranges from BB vs each positions.

Results for the week:
- Cash game -$19,70
- Tournaments +$3,02
- Bonuses +$4,57
- Total -$12,11

I played a total of 11,831 hands and 4 MTT’s

Poker goals:
- 10,000 hands
- Take a break after 60 min of play
- Only high value MTT’s (Big’s and Hot’s)
- Don’t play on my phone

Weekly review:

I just finished playing for the day which will conclude the week for me. Pokerwise I’m really happy with how the week went I spent a lot of hours analysing hands to improve my c-betting which I feel have improved my game a lot. Today I tried mixing in more 3bets which lead to a lot of spots where I had no idea how to play post-flop, but at least now I know what I don’t know which means I know what I need to work on.

I only managed to go to the gym 3 times this week which is a big fail. I don’t even want to make any excuses beside that it just haven’t been a priority. I have 24 hours to get work done, and taking out an hour 5 times this week just haven’t been as important to me as working on my poker game and playing COD.

Before going to the results for the week I feel like I have to give a shout out to KrisRukov who is the coach I have been working with the past two week for 4 hours so far. He have given great insight on what I need to work on. I believe that from the improvement in my graph it’s clear just how much he has helped me improve and hopefully I can continue to improve with the help of the his advice.

Results for the week:
- Cash game +$144,92
- Tournaments -$5,79
- Bonuses +$76,19 (cashed in 7,500 stars coins)
- Total +$215,32

I played a total of 14,767 hands and 6 MTT’s

Poker goals:
- 10,000 hands
- Take a break after 60 min of play
- Only high value MTT’s (Big’s and Hot’s)
- Don’t play on my phone

Thought I would make a mid-week update as I just finished playing for the day. I started the week out grinding hard as I wanted to make gold star which I needed roughly 300 VPP’s to complete. It took me 7,000 hands, but I got it and somehow managed to make a profit in the process.

I haven’t been playing well at all this week mainly due to that I have tried to implement new things in to my pre-flop game without spending a sufficient amount of time away from the tables in order to understand how to play post-flop. I will try to spend a few hours in the lab today to come up with some good ranges for the stuff I’m trying to implement.

The last few days I have also started mixing in some regular table as they seem a lot softer than zoom, especially because you really can take advantage of the fish which most reg’s don’t seem to understand the importance of. The problem is that it is quite hard to put in good volume at regular tables and when I mix zoom and regular tables my zoom results seem to take a big hit, so I have to make up a plan for when to play what.

Today had these two hands against the same guy within an orbit after table hoping with him for about an hour.

Haha, I'm not gonna lie, it definitely crossed my mind that he could have the 5d, but knowing how wide he could call I was willing to risk it!
