Inactivity Timeout

When I started the client this morning it required an update.
No problem. Updated.

Sometime later I got a popup saying that I would be disconnected in 5 minutes due to inactivity.

There is a setting where you can set the warning to come on 5 minutes, 3 minutes or 1 minuted before the timeout engages.

I can find nowhere that says how long you must be inactive before the warning appears.

What worries me is that I often register for tournaments, and rely on PokerStars to open the tables on time.
Now, if I reg for tournaments and timeout I might miss the start.

Anyone know what the timeout is?

I have it now for a week and the time out period is 30 minutes and it looks like you can't remove it. At least I don't know yet how you could remove it.

I have a script that alerts me when the window pops up so that I can dismiss it.
What is funny is that looks for "Inactivity Timeout" in the window title, and this thread is triggering it!

When the window first pops up it says 5:00 but if I interact with the window but don't dismiss it, it goes to 30:00

Cheers,
VS

Indeed, but not sure why they have changed it. I was used to it to keep the client the entire day open, but that doesn't work if you if the time out expired.

Is there a way to disable this 'dropped due to inactivity' function?

Hi Stasoverflow,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com!
There isn't a way to do it from inside the client -- at least no way that I've found.

It would be possible to write a script that activates the PokerStars window, then submit some keystrokes or mouse clicks at a given interval.
I don't know if it would work, and there may be side effects

Another alternative is to have a timer that pops up and beeps just before the Inactivity Timeout window appears.

Best of luck,
VS

It's indeed annoying, but you could always ask PokerStars support how you could removed, but I doubt it's possible.
