You have to believe that weak flushes will fold -- and they might (but unlikely) -- but what worse will call?
With the mere pot-sized bet you may get value from sets, AK etc.

Incidentally what would you bet OTR if the 7♦: had been the 7♠:?

The V has 74.60BB left and the pot being 74.48BB, I guess you could call it a slight over the pot sized bet on river. So you brought up an interesting point, with the FD completing river I should bet half pot, I think. If the river 3 was none Spade then the V would consider calling my shove on river. So, this V is a pretty smart player because he understood that my range is almost as wide as his range is which means I do have have some BSFD in my range henceforth the river check and tank and ultimate fold. I think he had a pretty decent SDV or he bombed the turn with a draw himself. More likely he had the discipline to lay down his hand on river, imo.
