Here is another ~30 min NL10 Zoom Video I recorded tonight. My intention is to post every video I record. Not going to hide anything.

Some tough spots this time again. Maybe I missed a Hero call here or there?

I started to watch this on 1.5 speed, but fell asleep part way through.

I wonder about opening 2.2x from EP -- this seems to attract a lot of 3Bets to which you fold.

Do you have a tracker?

I am really happy to hear that you found the video so exciting πŸ™ˆ

It has some advantages:
- We lose less when we get 3bet and have to fold
- We play smaller pots OOP both in SRP and in 3BP (whereas we open 2.5bb from LP and play more slightly larger pots IP)

The biggest disadvantage is that we get more flats from players that are in position.

Do you have a tracker?

Of course.

Stable play again! Keep up the good work.

Only 1 remark.
15:00 QJs
I will stack of on turn vs 1BB donk but it is fine if you want to keep the variance low.

Yes, I was considering this. Thanks for the review and support!

In my defence I was very tired

Why "have to fold?"
If you open larger, perhaps you'll get 3Bet less.
If you open smaller, perhaps be a bit tighter so you welcome 3Bets

The problem with flatting from MP, CO and/or BTN is that now there's a pile of $ in the middle, and SB or BB can profitably squeeze.

I am quite probably wrong here, since I'm not currently a hold'em player.

Cheers,
VS

Granted. πŸ˜„

Why "have to fold?"

If we open raise and get 3bet, we cannot defend 100% of our opening range. Sometimes we have to fold when we get 3bet

I could only repeat myself. It is also what my coach advised me to do and e.g. what is suggested in the Preflop Bible from BluffTheSpot. Additionally it's what I see good players do as well.

Cheers

Cheers, mate!

Here is a hand from a session today.
First, I do not often flat 3bets with smaller pockets. This time I decided to do it because the 3bet was quite small, and I have position.
Currently, I am trying to find more spots for thinner value. So I was thinking about raising OTR.
But Villain has so many combos that beat me in his range, that he might play like this:
AA, QQ, JJ, KTs (total: 13)
Also, I am not sure which worse hands call when I raise. Maybe AQ, AJ, QJ (total: 27 if we count unsuited as well, which is probably too many)
The rest is probably going to fold? Not sure. Villain could also have a busted FD, which he will fold, obviously...
A close spot. WDYT?

PokerStars - $0.10 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 238.1 BB
SB: 170.2 BB
BB: 404.3 BB
UTG: 26.5 BB
Hero (MP): 108.4 BB
CO: 218.6 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 5♠ 5♥

fold, Hero raises to 2.2 BB, fold, fold, fold, BB raises to 7.1 BB, Hero calls 4.9 BB

Flop: (14.7 BB, 2 players) J♦ 5♣ 2♦
BB bets 4 BB, Hero calls 4 BB

Turn: (22.7 BB, 2 players) Q♠
BB bets 15 BB, Hero calls 15 BB

River: (52.7 BB, 2 players) A♠
BB bets 42 BB, Hero calls 42 BB

What do you think about raising the Turn tho ? There are a lot of draws he could have in this spot.

Or shoving the River vs the bet?

In 3bet pots, I think you can play a pure calling strategy in position (on flop and turn).

I think, I explained in my review why I didn't shove OTR. But yeah, not sure if this was good.

Hey monteCarlol,

I think you played this one pretty well. BB has almost flatting range vs HJ and LJ, so I guess we can exclude hands like AQo and AJo in their 3b range. Probably they 3bet them at a very low frequency, assuming BB is a good player.

I don't think there is a value in raising the river, can't find any weaker hands that will call a raise. Probably only A♦:5♦: A♥:2♥: A♣:2♣: if BB has in their preflop 3b range.

30:20 K♥:Q♥: did you missed to barrel the turn because of the action on the other table?

I don't get something: Which combinations did you remove to get only 9 and why?

Yes, my bad. Did the math wrong. If we count all, including the off suited ones, there are 9 (3x3) per hand. So 27 in total.
Thanks for pointing that out. I corrected it in the origianl post.

Yes, a mandatory turn barrel, I agree. My coach is Peter from ValueHeavy.

Shout-out to Peter!

Cold Calling a 3bet with QQ Isn't Really a Thing - Hero Didn't Know - Watch What Happens Next!
New Video out:

Few spots that I remember:
- I shouldn't cbet with A3s on 6T5 board (3bet HU IP) without any backdoors
- AJo BB vs LP Iso should probably be a 3bet and not a call
- Never cold call a 3bet with QQ

Definitely agree with you here :)

15:00 JJ hand - I would bet bigger on the flop and overbet shove the River, when he calls my overbet on the Turn. The card on the River is maybe the perfect card on the deck for us - we beat KT now and it improves their overbet calling range on the Turn. Different option than jam on that card I consider it as a lost value. Not to mention that you mark this opponent as a fish and they will overplay their hand very often in this situation ;)
