BR Challenge Update
Week: 31 (13 Dec 2021 - 18 Dec 2021)
Hands played: 1086
Limits: NL10/NL16
Profit: $17.07
BR: $265.70
Progress: 17.85%
Took a shot at NL16 this week, and I will continue with it. I don't mind the results, but I was not happy with my play. I shied away from some spots, where I should have been more aggressive. I didn't 3bet as light as I should and missed on some probe bet and multiple barrel opportunities. It must be a mental thing related to the higher stakes. I am going to put extra focus on this in my next session.

There's like different styles; one is 3betting light and taking each and every opportunity, it is quite tough. The other style is calling more pre and playing smart postflop, it is a little bit easier imo. You don't HAVE TO get into tough spots deliberately is what im saying. It is very hard to play that style I would say, this 3betting light style. Like I see experienced pros do that and even they get into very tough spots doing that. They do get one advantage from it: they get very loose table image which rewards them and people start to pay them off light...

Thanks for outlining your thoughts on this. With light 3bets, I actually do not mean that I am 3betting super wide and polar. I mean just the normal 8-10%, at least this is my goal. (And of course deviate according to player types, e.g. depolarize vs fish) A 3bet or fold strategy reduces rake (which is super high where I play) and it is IMO not that complicated, because the decision tree is much smaller and ranges are more narrow. But playing for bigger pots and higher variance is tougher, for sure. I guess that is your point, right, go for a little less EV but smaller variance?
My style would be often more like: call pre and outplay them postflop. Because they are super suspicious about 3bets pre. But when you just call they put you on range that hits the board. They are scared then. Yes smaller variance, like weak tight, high win rate but lot of bluffs postflop, especially in position.
Calling is great for small-to-mid pocket pairs and mid-range suited connectors especially multi-way and in position.
It's easy to get out of there if you miss, and your hand is really well disguised when you hit.

Yes, but you also pay tons of rake + people do not stack off that easily anymore when you hit the set. Probably still works well when there are fish in the pot, but I don't think this works well (has highest EV) vs Regs anymore.
So we fold them?
3Bet them?
If we're 3Betting any hand we play, we either play too few hands, or we leave ourselves open to getting 4Bet a lot.
I'll have to study this a bunch

In LP we 3bet small pocket pairs (99-66) and some SCs with a low frequency and otherwise just fold.
Check out the simple ranges from GTOWizard. They are pure 3bet or fold.

HI do you play only Zoom or as well Regular Tables?
Hi, I play both Zoom and regular. Zoom is much tougher IMO. This and being able to play more hands/hr and being able to sit out anytime is why I like it for practicing. But on regular tables, my winrate is waaaaay higher (even without table selection, which is disabled for German players).

Yah Table selection is Disabled for German players, I want to play Zoom for the reason that I only have max two hours per day to play. I guess Zoom will be than the better option to go with.
By the way really like your Blog

BR Challenge Update
Week: 32 (19 Dec 2021 - 28 Dec 2021)
Hands played: 956
Limits: NL10/NL16/NL50
Profit: $27.19
BR: $292.89
Progress: 20.89%
I played an online NL50 home game yesterday. I am not really rolled for it, but it was a very juicy game and a very rare occasion. I also focussed on a good mind set and on taking the right decisions, while not letting the stakes go to my head. So all in all a situation I could take full responsibility for.
There was a period where I was completely card dead for ~200 hands (probably ~1.5 hrs). It almost tilted me and I had thoughts like: "This is not fair, I am an above average player at this table, I deserve to be winning...". Classic entitlement tilt. I could literally feel the stress in my body at some point. I knew that this is a terrible mind set, the mind set of a low performer. But at the same time, I realized it and was able to cope with it, by first accepting that I feel this way and then letting it pass while not letting it impact my game to an extent so that I would lose my edge. Probably the best achievement of last night's session. And then, finally, I even ended up with some profit. Yeah, I know, that this is results oriented again, it's so hard to turn this off completely. It's also worth mentioning that it was fun to video chat with nice people. And we had a good time.
Here is the graph from the session:
