Vorpal is right. Beware of the so-called "over exercise". I have been there and I can tell you, it sucks big time! Over exercise is a pain in the bum bum! :rage:

I was led to believe that too much exercise is counter-productive. In the days when I had a trainer, I was told at least one day of rest each week — preferably two.

Haven't gotten to that point yet. Trust me though, if and when I do, I'll relax a little.

Might cut it to 25 days but as its been working well so far there's not much point.

Worst poker session since returning.

Nothing went my way at all today

No cashes, no bubbles, no hands, nothing!!!

And when I did have semi decent hands they were out kicked or out run!

Not a fun day at all lol.

Oh well, onwards and upwards and all that jazz.

First game of the season!

I had planned a big session yesterday but I received a last-minute phone call about a soccer game for my oldest daughter.

So we made the short trip to the away game (about 15km away) for the 6:30 pm kick-off. Unfortunately, our team is pretty awful this year and the game was over after 5 minutes and we were 3 goals behind.

The second half was a little better as everyone settled in and we scored a penalty. The last 5 minutes saw first-half habits return and the score ended 9-1!

Last season our U-12 team was much stronger, but most of the players have moved up an age group making things a little more difficult for us.

Oh well, it's about getting out of the house a couple of nights a week and exercising!

My youngest will play U-9 this season and those games will start up again soon. This will reduce my poker time significantly but we will get there!

Sounds awesome! :f_drink: What positions are your daughters playing? Any fellow goalies in your family?

Is U-12 playing on the adult size field already? I think I started playing on the full pitch at age 10 or 11, but I might be wrong, and it might be different in other parts of the world, or have changed over time.

They are still at the stage where they all follow the ball - no real structure.

She did play in goals in the younger levels but has been outfield for the last few years.

They play across pitch at U12, full pitch begins at U14. There is no U14 girls team here so they still play mixed with the boys.

Eldest is 13 but girls get an extra year.

It's great to hear that you received a payout from TAF! As for your decision, it ultimately depends on your personal goals and preferences.

If you feel confident in your skills and want to take a shot at the $1 games on Stars, then adding $100 to your roll could be a good option. Just make sure to manage your bankroll carefully and avoid playing too high for your skill level.

On the other hand, if you want to invest in your poker tracking and analysis tools, purchasing HM3 and adding $40 to your roll could be a smart move. This will allow you to review your hands and improve your game, potentially leading to better results in the long run.

Finally, trying out partypoker's $1 Sit & Gos with a $50 investment could also be a viable option. This will allow you to explore a new platform and game type while also diversifying your options.

Ultimately, it's up to you to decide which option aligns with your goals and preferences. Good luck at the tables!

^^ Thanks bud.

Honestly after a couple bad days and getting frustrated I'm going to bin the SNG project again for the time being.

It took a few weeks but I'm already not enjoying it and I've already withdrawn funds for the time being.

I've realised that I want to devote my time to family and weight loss goals.

Today I reached the midpoint mark of my goal, exact middle for the goal to the lb!

It's taken me 10.5 weeks to lose 31.75 lbs leaving another 30.5 to go.

It might be a cop out, in truth, but fuck it - it's my life to live!

Might fire the odd tournament or something but the SNG dream is dead!

There's more to life, honestly, and you have nothing to prove. Your family should be better company than some micro stakes Hold'em donks behind a screen, in any case. :f_grin:

Seems more practical to have mixed teams at the lower ages instead, but if there is no girls team, no can do...

I had to look up the field sizes now, and it seems like there have been some reforms over here too, it seems similar to what you have described. Back in my day, we played across pitch in U9, and then started playing on a shortened version of the real pitch, which only goes up to the two penalty boxes, in U11. After that, it was the full field.

Looks like they are now even playing on four goals in some of the lowest age groups. Seems like a pretty BS reform in general, but I don't have a dog in this fight.

Nice to post it. Having fun can be forgotten sometimes in this "hobby"!

We don't have four goals in any age group.

We are the only club to field a mix of boys and girls. Most other clubs are all boys or have their own separate girls team.

My oldest was kind of lost last year against bigger boys but this year she's more confident and not afraid to get a good tackle in! The only issue is they are pretty bad this year and will likely lose most of their games which is never fun!

Thanks man - another false dawn comes and goes - I don't have the mentality it seems for grinding this game out

Well I don't know if it's mentallity alone. Like most of us we have dayjobs and life. So if you're serious about poker we're talking about 12k hands a month to get some decent sample size. This is all ready around 44h/month (based on playing 4tables and about 275h/hour). Than we talk 10-15h study a month (should pbb be more).
So 60h a month is 2h a day and nothing to show for it first year(s)... So yeah it's hard.

Well I don´t know how "serious" you wanna be about SnGs when you have a daily job, other hobbies and other commitments. I personally see it as a hobby, even though I set some goals, but small ones. I see SnGs as a nice hobby, I´m a recreational player. SnGs can be super frustrating, I agree, I´m going through such a phase, too, where whatever you play, AA, KK, AK just doesn´t hold up and looses versus some random hand or jams into a monster. You get long time nothing, just junk, and junk and even more junk, 38o, 84o, 73o, 72o, Q2o, J2o and such and finally, when you are a desperate shorty, you find AK or JJ or KK and then .... either you jam your AK, JJ, QQ and KK into AA or they loose versus some random 2-outer or 3-outer. I have been there! Oh yes. But we ALL have to go through it and this is why I strictly keep up my poker-free days, so that I can mentally 100 % recover from those frustrating moments.

Hey gang!

Just a quick post to stay I am still alive :)

All is going well and progressing nicely with my weight loss goals although I have stopped recording daily food intakes I am still keeping myself on a firm and fair amount of calories in on a daily basis.

No longer recording cycled amount either - but am maintaining levels as best I can.

Will post a proper update soon and likely go back to full on documentation mode for May as I may reach my desired goals with one final push!

Hope everyone is well.

Weather is nice in Copenhagen, so I have started cycling to work. Only 5K each way, but the traffic is murder. Don’t think I like biking enough to do yr distances🤗

Here in the Vancouver area they have designated cycle routes, and in some areas even dedicated cycle paths.
In the areas where the cycle routes share the road with vehicular traffic, the roads are generally wider and have a "bike lane".
There are still frequent mishaps though.
