Happy New Year, UPAY! ![]()
You know, I was thinking about posting on your blog myself just a while ago, but I didn't want to disappoint anyone who would get alerted to new posts in this thread and hoped to see an update from you.
So how are you doing these days, and what are your plans for 2025?
happy new year old timer,
I saw your name coming up and knew you from before, I'm also already 10+ years here

Cheers bud, you can always post it may take me a while to respond!
So 2024 was mixed for reasons mentioned above.
In relation to weight I started the year in or around 10st 7 with the hopes of maintaining it or staying below 11st.
I succeeded here, kept things ticking over with a lowest of 10st 3 and a highest of 10st 10.
For 2025, my aim is to put on weight and bulk up! I've started at a local gym going 3x per week.
Tonight, will be my 5th session and I'm beginning to get the hang of it although he's taking it easy on me to begin with which is nice. I'm not the best with coordination but assume it will get there over time.
I'm eating 3K cals per day which is a nice 1K boost. Trying my best to cram as much into me as possible (200g protein, 30g fibre and 3k cals overall) I am getting there but it has been a weird adjustment. I'll check in on weight after a month but I suspect it will be somewhere in the mid 11s which will be more than fine.
No poker at all btw, really out of that mindset and it appears that local live event is no longer a thing. I never went back after the first time. The second one was scheduled on an evening I had other plans and now it seems to be gone!
Oh well!
Hope everyone is good!

Haha old timer, love it!
Yeah its mad how fast the years go. Almost a member here now for 16 years!
Some big changes in the industry in that time. Some good and some not so good!
9 weeks completed at the gym
1st gained
Muscle coming along nicely but will perhaps reintroduce some cardio a couple of times per week (back to my trusted bike!) to get rid of some stubborn body fat.
Have taken to some sporadic poker sessions also. Got some tickets from partypoker to their Micro Series Main Events a couple of weeks back and turned $0.55 into $50!
Going to play some more on Stars/Party on Sunday 23rd.

Wow! congratulations!
I spent 45 minutes on the treadmill this morning.
Tomorrow, I'm considering turning it on 😁
Always great to hear from you.
I am currently mostly doing daily bodyweight exercises at home to keep my progress, though I added a minor biceps curls program where I would increase the amount of reps every week, then the weight to be lifted, and repeat.
My focus has now switched to cardio too, because this week, I started training for a public half-marathon race, to be held in early July. I dread to think that the distance I would be required to run in there is a little greater than the combined distance of all three runs I did this week so far...

Thank you!
Looks like you are making nice progress too!
My brother has ran quite a few marathons in the last 10 years. Never got the urge for running and don't think I can see that in my future. Much prefer walking!
17th week completed at the gym.
Building nicely and still around the same weight (11st 8) although I rarely check it these days.
Strength is coming along nicely, adding reps and weights each week so I can see some tangible progress all the time.
6 weeks until our family holiday, this year we go to Tunisia.
Will likely continue the gym after that as I'm happy with how things are going.
No poker on the horizon.
Hope everyone is well

I haven't been to the gym in years, but I go to the john daily.
I've been walking a lot lately — did my longest yesterday at 9.3km
My weight is 11st 4 — or was last time I checked
Speaking of stone — I bought some THC gummies a month or so ago but haven't got around to eating them.
Great to hear that things are going well for you.
Are you still working for that poker site — or are you still in the grocery biz?
That looks like it's going well for you and that you have a nice holiday up ahead.

Hello good sir, hope you are well?
I am still working in the poker industry, same role as before albeit with more seniority and scope. 5 years this coming Sept and have never looked back. Will keep riding that wave for as long as possible.
I tend to walk some evenings but with my youngest so maybe 2km at a time. Did a recent 12km cycle with her but she's not too excited to do it again and I don't blame her, it was quite the trek. I did it solo once since and may do it again once the weather improves!

It is, never been as fit in my life, really turned a corner with that.
Thank you, not sure what to expect from Tunisia but we won't be leaving the resort all that much as it is an "all inclusive" holiday which suits our needs.
