That means another week to 10 days max and I can finally think about building muscle and ironing out my abs.

At least I can stop boring you all with this as well

Well, I liked following along on your progress, and I expect other people did too.

All of this once again demonstrates how stupid BMI really is, if it barely puts you at the high end of the "normal" category after that impressive weight loss. Ah well, you're beating it at its own game, I suppose.

What can we expect here next, except building muscle etc? Any poker, possibly? Or will you take a break from blogging altogether again?

Cheers pal - despite BMI being overly nitty - when I look in the mirror it's definitely noticeable that I could do with shedding a few lbs more.

That said, if I can build muscle from where I'm at I will be very happy.

Yes indeed, the next part of the plan is muscle building. Specifically upper-body, chest, arms and abs. I'm not going to lie when I say this will be a hell of a lot tougher than sitting on a bike 3 hours a week but we shall see what happens. I do look kinda meek from my chest upwards which I really dislike now so maybe that is all the motivation I need!

Poker is something I will have more time to do, especially with the winter approaching and the darker evenings.

I'll assess my options but I guess partypoker is going to be my best bet. They have decent prizepools and events don't take 8-9 hours. I'll do some more research on that over the coming weeks. I had intended to play some WCOOP on Stars but I don't have it in me for long sessions for shite rewards.

Now that's more up my alley. I personally never cared much about losing weight myself, it was always mostly about performance for me, so I preferred building strength and to a lesser degree endurance.

Do you have any equipment at home? If not, I have been shown some training programs for body weight exercises before: 100 pushups, 5 minute plank, 200 situps, 200 squats, 200 lunges, 150 dips and 25 pullups. Maybe one of them could be for you. I personally never completed any of them, because other sports and sometimes work always got in the way sooner or later.

Currently, I am using this thing for my ab exercises, which was also advertised on one of those websites. I can tell you it's quite a workout... if you get overexcited with it the first time using it, your abs may be aching for quite a while. But after taking it slower, I now manage to get a lot more reps in.

Ah, yes, I'm definitely looking forward to the approaching colder seasons now, including some improved conditions for poker, maybe - even though it's going terribly right now.

Very helpful, thank you!

I will start off quite small and not until I have the last of the lbs required out of the way.

I did have the vast majority of that in my head but obviously not in those quantities but something I can work towards for sure!

If intertested I can send you an app I bought for $50 that has exercices for 3 months (than repeat when needed). It requires no equipments. For me it works (down almost 20kg in 10 months). But also the musscle improved very well. Also combined with good food schedule.
For me the requirements where it had to be easily fit into a normal houshold life. It takes me around 20min each morning for 5 days a weak.

This morning I reached the final milestone of under 11st, exactly 10st 13.75 lbs to make it a full 5 stone loss and the end of the weight loss phase!

5st = 70 lbs or 31.75kgs

Start weight = 16 st / 224 lbs / 101.6kg
End weight = 11st / 155lbs / 69.85kg

The plan for this week is to focus on maintaining this weight and being the same in 7 days.

To test this, I will not exercise at all and add 200 calories back into my diet each day, taking me up to 1,614.

If that works, I will add a further 200 the following week, taking me up to 1,814, finally stopping at 2,068, which I reckon is close to my maintenance calorie amount.

Let's see how this works out....

In poker-related updates, now that I've got the weight issue under control, I can start mixing in some gameplay!

I began last night with a tournament session on PokerStars and partypoker, to see how I'd cope with a potential return for WCOOP.

Buyins; $126
Returns: $118

It was a wild enough ride, cashing in 2 out of 8 tournaments and picking up some bounties in 3 of the 6 bounty events.

The deepest run came in the Hotter $11, with a 99th placed finish and a $29.54 cash.

The best run was in the $22 Sunday Mini Million, cashing for $44.65 and $33.75 in bounties.

On Partypoker, my only returns were 2 x $ 5 bounties in their $22 event.

I am quite happy with my play overall. On one hand, I overplayed QQ preflop in the $22 Mini Million which caused me some pain. Other than that, it was an OK session where I got it in with the best most of the time!

Thank you!

Poker will be a fleeting hobby at best, some sessions here and there but not every day, if that makes sense.

I am indeed, this has been a huge challenge and ends with a success - not very many of those in my life :)

I'm sure you have had a few. :f_grin: You have some amazing kids for one thing, don't you?

I originally wanted to rail your games last Sunday for old time's sake, but I decided some time that evening that I would take the day off from poker, so I didn't open Pokerstars. Sounds like I missed an exciting ride.

It certainly was eventful but the last 90 mins was me folding 90% with occasional shoves until my 22 lost to A5 on the river in the $22 Million!

Likely next session will be this day next week and then a big one on the 24th for the 2nd last Sunday of WCOOP.

Ideally, I'd have preferred to play on the last Sunday of the series but it's my Mother's and my birthday weekend so better things to be doing!

First week of 200 extra calories per day in the books. This, along with zero exercise had me slightly worried about a gain on the scales. This was not the case, however, coming in for a 1/4lb loss at 10st 13.5!

This week's plan is to add 200 calories per day, bringing my total intake to 1,800 per day. However, I'd like to add some 15-minute cycling sessions to the mix on 4 out of 7 days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday)

On these days, I will add a further 200 calorie intake as I'm not actively trying to lose weight any more and I'd like to keep up the exercise part!

Not to bad result without exercise. Maybe it will change this week, but hopefully you keep it stable.

Despite the extra calories and with only 3 out of 4 scheduled exercise sessions another 1lb was lost this week!

Weighed in at 10st 12.5 this morning.

This week, I am back to my full compliment of 2,000 daily calories for the first time this year. It may need tweaking and increasing if I continue to lose weight, so I will be monitoring it for the next few weeks to see how things go.

I'm not unhappy to be still losing slightly at this point or concerned as my nutrition is pretty good and my diet is well-balanced.

Played some tournaments on Thursday evening but had little joy aside from a couple of mincashes and a rather annoying bubble!

Big tournament session planned for this coming Sunday which I am looking forward to. A real throwback to Sunday's gone by where I am planning to register for an 8-hour span and hopefully a 12+hr long session!

Be interesting to see if I still have what that takes!

Also won $30.98 in the Deal promotion!

That sounds nice, I hope I can find the time to rail for a bit - also as a bit of a throwback to the "good old days", when our community and online poker in general were a bit more lively.

Looks like the health goals are still progressing well. I imagine it must feel good to finally eat some decently sized rations again, right?

Have you started with the muscle-building exercises? I intend to start a modest stamina-based training program next month, depending on what else comes up with my sports schedule. I currently do my workouts before going to work in the morning, but they're all just strength-based.

Indeed, it's been a while, looking forward to it!

Not yet, I need to find the right balance of calories over the coming weeks and then I'll begin. Have a PT who is a friend of mine, so will get in touch with them for recommendations.

Just had my first unrestricted homemade beef burger and OMG it was delicious lol!

In the past months I had to sub out the brioche bun for brown sliced bread/thins (saving 50 cals)
Real cheddar sliced cheese for those wrapped cheese singles (saving 30 cals)
Much less burger sauce (saving 50 cals)
Bacon rasher slices (saving 100 cals)

Today was the first proper rendition (although I didn't have bacon rashers with it, as I had them with protein pancakes for breakfast) along with 150g of air fried chips.

Absolutely divine and a reasonable 804 calories to boot!

In other news, after visiting Vorpal's blog I seem to have picked up his illness and am now in my 3rd day of feeling shitty (Thanks mate!)

That reminds me, I still need to post last week's burgers on the Troll Challenges blog, I almost forgot about it again.

There are some good non-brioche buns available, but yeah, brioche is good. Even better is baking the buns yourself, which is something I also need to try. Using real cheddar is also just a good idea in general.

Did you use a store-bought sauce, or make your own?

Let's not even give people ideas for an "online quarantine"... :f_mad:

But get well!
