There are some good non-brioche buns available, but yeah, brioche is good. Even better is baking the buns yourself, which is something I also need to try. Using real cheddar is also just a good idea in general.

Did you use a store-bought sauce, or make your own?

In other news, after visiting Vorpal's blog I seem to have picked up his illness and am now in my 3rd day of feeling shitty (Thanks mate!)

Let's not even give people ideas for an "online quarantine"... :f_mad:

But get well!

Cheers man.

I made it myself with ketchup and mayo (I know you don't like ketchup however!)

I never got around to making the sauce with greek yogurt, mayo, pickles and pickle juice - mainly because the fam wouldn't try it!

I found some good recipes for McDonald's copycat sauces in YouTube videos. Not sure how "diet friendly" any of them are.

This one features a different version of the Big Mac sauce, but also a version of the Big Tasty sauce, which is the main reason why I saved it:

I haven't made any "regular" burgers in a long time thanks to that blogging series I started, which always has to fit a theme. But when I do, I usually either use standard store-bought barbecue sauce... or one of these.

They were good enough to never make me miss McDonald's, at least, which is way too expensive by now anyway for what you get. The last time I've been there was two years ago, and it was a big enough deal for me to post a full review of it in the IDC-thread.

$22 ticket for a $0.01 buy-in!

Absolutely scum ran from the tournament was 50/52 at one point and I don't believe I had more than 7BBs at any point close to ITM!

Unlucky to not ladder to the $55 tickets, losing to runner-runner straight for a top 8 stack! Oh well!

Nice result for a 1c tournament. Hopefully you get a nice run in the $22 WCOOP event.

10 st 12.5 lbs last week
10 st 12.5 lbs this week

Maintained for the first time, looks like everything is on point but will continue to monitor it for another few weeks.

Poker session was dire, literally got nothing running across 16 events so time to head back into my cave again until the next urge!

Ah, I missed it again. :f_frown: Poker is not going well for me either right now, both when it comes to results and motivation.

I got sick on my vacation in August (nearly fully recovered now), and in that time I dropped from 10st 20 to 10st 16.

Not recommended as a weight loss strategy.

We gained this week (as expected) as I celebrated my birthday by enjoying some delicious food.

It has strengthened my resolve to continue shedding further weight as I'm still not 100% happy at where I am.

11st 1 lb on the scale yesterday.

My new target is 10st 7 by the end of the year. This means 1,800 daily calories and 20-minute bike sessions on 4 days each week. I'm hoping at this new weight I'll be able to start on the muscle building phase at the turn of the year.

Belated Happy Birthday! :f_drink:

What did you have? I went for some steak when I was celebrating my birthday a little over a week ago. Turkey steak, actually, because I wanted to see what it was like at that place. I found that it was good, but you would get so much more out of a good cut of beef. I did have some skewered beef filet as a starter, though, so it all worked out.

Progressing along nicely without many changes.

Diet is fine, happy enough with 1800 calories on most days.

Cycling has been non existent for a couple reasons
1. Injury - neck/shoulder pain which has been annoying me for a week or so
2. Upstairs renovation - should be complete next week and I'll have the house to myself during my downtime

Timing of the injury is good, otherwise I'd be annoyed about not being able to exercise. Have gone on a few walks instead but nothing major!

10st 10.5 lbs on Monday, moving along nicely for the moment all things considered.

Upstairs renovations are still not complete but we're almost there lol

Upstairs hallway got new flooring
4 bedrooms carpeted (previously cheap laminate)
2 Ensuites got new flooring (previously tiled, now vinyl flooring)
The main bathroom got new flooring (previously tiled, now vinyl flooring)
1 upstairs bedroom transformed from a playroom to a second sitting room (with a large fitted wardrobe) as the kids have grown out of that phase
All upstairs freshly painted
Old furniture (6 single wardrobes and a couple of cheap shelving units removed)
2 new beds

One 14 cubic-yard skip is ready to be filled over the next 72 hours!

Fun times!

Hey gang, hope you're all doing well?

Been a while since I updated, and in truth there hasn't been much to update about!

The house renovation is complete, all bills are paid and everyone is very happy with their updated rooms, whilst I'm most happiest about having the run of my house again.

Exercise has gone out the window - just haven't been able to set aside the time of late as work is busy and my free time even busier. I'll get back on that horse again soon (likely new year at this point)

I am not so much worried about the above as I've been maintaining a solid 2K calorie per day intake with the aim of maintaining in or around 10st 9.

Funnily enough, this morning (first weigh in about a week) I was at a new PB of 10st 7.5. Now that I'd like to maintain and will strive to do so between now and the start of the Xmas period (24th December)

So the goal is to wake up on December 24 at 10st 7.5 or under. 10st 8 is also acceptable but will strive for the 1/2 lb less!

Why am I so horny for 10st 7.5? It represents an overall loss of 33% since the beginning of January - quite an achievement I reckon so let's go with that!

Poker? Nope, no desire.

Enjoying Game of Gold very much - the first two episodes are amazing and really looking forward to the third.

Surprised that it has not received a mention in the PokerStrategy news section (why Barry?) probably one of the best things to happen poker in 2023 and there's not even a mention about it here?

Anyways, hope you're all well and happy.

Finding time and energy to combine exercise and IRL stuff in the longer run can be a big challenge for anyone who is not a professional athlete. You can ask anyone who has ever tried prepping for a marathon while dealing with a full-time job and a family. So don't worry about it, it's normal.

I think I may have overdone it a little myself with the sporting challenges this year. I will try to wrap up what is still unfinished in the next 1-2 weeks and then focus on maintaining my progress too, without as much pressure.

This time of the year can often be a bit of a final sprint. I don't know about you, but I am looking forward to a break already.

Happy holidays gang.

Made it to Dec 24 at 10st 7 (think my lowest was 10st 5.5) but had some parties and drinks in the last few weeks that moved the needle slightly upwards.

Expect to be somewhere in the region of 10st 13 by the end of the festivities and tbh I'd live with that going forward.

I guess the challenge for 2024 is to remain below 11st whilst not being as switched on as I have in the past 12 months. Been a wild ride.

Jan 01 - 16st (approx)
Jan 22 - 15st 13.25lbs
Feb 01 - 15st 9lbs
Mar 01 - 14st 11.5lbs
Apr 01 - 13st 10.5lbs
May 01 - 13st 1.5lbs
Jun 01 - 12st 4lbs
Jul 01 - 11st 8lbs
Aug 01 - 11st 11lbs
Sep 01 - 11st
Oct 01 - 11st 1lb
Nov 01 - 10st 10lbs
Dec 01 - 10st 6.5lbs
Dec 24 - 10st 7lbs

I bought an XL NYY baseball jersey for Xmas 22 and a Small Dortmund football jersey this Xmas.

I've also bought 4 pairs of jeans in the past 12 months

38W 30L
36W 30L
34W 30L
32W 30L

I tried a 30W 30L before Xmas and it fitted but I didn't buy them lol, will stick with the 32 for now!

Happy new year to one and all!
