Last few sessions i'm experiencing something what's best dircibed as pressure. Not sure where it comes from as I used to have way more stressfull job in the past. Also money wise there is nothing that justifies this emotion as my BR is totally separated from liefe money (and we have very ok lifes).

It probably comes from being in a study group and recieving a lot new info that I try to implement but does not work all the time (or not implemented in the right way). If anyone has some advice for this please let me know. I have always been strong emotionally and I feel I am on new territory now.

May overview

For some unknown reason I lost my excel file with all my info. So I have to restart it and will keep it online from now on.
I also changed sites and play mainly on app. Still have to figure out to get it in H2N and stuff but will keep you posted.

Profit this month is around 38BI = $380.

Review goals May:
 Play between 10 and 12k hands this month: Played around 15k hands
:spade: Keep track of the hours off the table: Yes I did but I lost the file.
 Reality is I played around 90h last month for 22k hands, so for this month that should be max 49h. Lets go for 25h of study this month! Will def be more than 25h of study time.

Goals June:
 Play between 10 and 12k hands this month.
:spade: Keep track of the hours off the table.
 25h of study time total.
:spade: Need to start solving on my own: I will go for 4 solves this month with good analyses.

When clicking on that i get message that file is deleted or renamed... searched whole pc's and opened last files but nothing. From now on i will keep it online πŸ˜…

Oh man, I feel your pain. Not as acutely, but I do feel it.
I made my living doing IT management and tech support at a major newspaper's printing plant.
To this day, I do a nightly backup to an external drive.
Once every two weeks, it does a full backup. Every night after that, it saves only the changes, so it takes far less time.
Even so, at any time I can recover any file that existed overnight any time in the past two weeks.

About two years ago now, I had a full hard drive crash, and it saved my sorry ass.

Highly recommended.

If you're interested in what software I use, let me know.

IΒ΄d be more than happy, as I am thinking about backups again and again, but only do them from time to time and I know, I should do this much more often!

I am currently using https://www.easeus.com/backup-software/tb-free.html
I have a paid version, but for most purposes, the free version would do fine.
Also, Windows has a file recovery feature you could turn on. This is separate from the "recycle bin"
You can read more here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/recover-lost-files-on-windows-10-61f5b28a-f5b8-3cc2-0f8e-a63cb4e1d4c4
Finally, when I was doing tech support for a living, the most common reason files went missing is that they accidentally got dragged-and-dropped into the wrong folder.
This tool: https://www.voidtools.com/ is very lightweight, and as long as you know even a part of the file name, you can find it pretty much instantly.
I use it so much now I hardly even pay attention where I put things.

So I figured out ho to get everything in H2N. Not exact on the $ but close enough to give an overview.

Needless to say I'm on an upswing, wich is always nice when you take a shot at a higher stake. Overall the spots are more and more common and maybe more important I recognize the spots that I don't knwo what to do and have the tools to check them.

The coachings are really great and I have all ready learned a lot. Still have to start with solving by my own though.

Study time june atm 400min.

So the 2nd week of june is again going really well. True winnings are still over EV but that line is steadily going up. Last couple of sessions were not fun and I still need to get used to the swings. I try to think about my theoretical winrate before and during each session it helps me to put the loses and the winnings in perspective.
Unfortunalty I can't get the graph but I can give an overview of my played sessions. Again some hands are missing here and there but overal it representive.

Also summer is coming in with heat waves left and right so I drank more than is good for me. RosΓ© all day...

Will still enjoy the summer vibes but maybe not every day :spade:

Pretty logic that the drinking stood in the way of my study time. Atm I have about 550min / 1500min. And the solves did not happen. Don't know if I can or will make this up as I want this study time to be true and with the ghighest quality as possible.

Again some swingy week. Could just as eaily been a losing week.
We had a heatwave here and it really got into my routine of working out and food (again). Also had a small birthday party and some occasion where I had some wine and beers (again). All in all it really showed in my focus on the tables and I need to be glad that it didn't went downhill like in the past.

I have one small week in june to go and than a week holiday in greece.

Pbb will read the mental game again.

June update

As I had a holliday the first week of june I did not have had the time to give the monthly update. But here it is:

Review goals June:
 Play between 10 and 12k hands this month. - Played a bit more than planned pbb due to of running good and just prefering to play in stead of studying, this keeps being a 'problem'
:spade: Keep track of the hours off the table. - Made a second tab for tracking study time.
 25h of study time total. - Did not made it, got to about 15h but will keep the 25h goal fot next month.
:spade: Need to start solving on my own: I will go for 4 solves this month with good analyses. - Yh did no solves on my own as I get now solves from coaching that I'm learning between coachings.

BR end of may: $1,195.92
Cost coach: 30% of monthly profit so starting BR june: $1,093.92
Hands played: 15.436
BR end of June: $1,709.05
Total profit: $615.13
Total winrate: 15.94 bb/100h

Total study time 14.9h (reading, discussing other hands and stuff not included).

Goals July:

 Play around 12k hands
:spade: 25h study time
:diamond: 2 solves + analyses on my own

July update

July was not an easy month, started with a holiday where I wasn't planning on playing but some things got together and their I was almost playing every night and som emornings :). A bit BE but was a good lesson taking other factors into account when grinding and how focussed one must be to truelly play to it's potential.

As the month continued things went a bit uphill and I had some BI's to spare at the next stake. It was a bit of a rollercoaster as I got off to a really good start but ended with a -10BI session.

Sessions NL50:

Obvious it is again an experience I can learn from and having a coach to review that stuff with is an extra.
Afterwards NL25 was not that great. Pbb got in some playing mode where I did not play as good as I could and when variance turns around it can be hard.

Sessions NL25 after shot taking:

So ending the month about 8BI down for NL50 and 8BI down for NL25 wich is not that much for the high variance game.
Also I want to add I have no problem taking any table as serious. In the past I would play like I was God on NL10 and super focussed on NL25. Seeing other players play NL100 till NL1k in same session made my eyes open. They just want to beat everyone and realize you always have to be focussed.

Numbers:

BR end of june: $1.709,05
Cost coach: 30% of monthly profit so starting BR July: $1.524,51
Hands played: 22.046
BR end of July: $1.175,15
Total profit: -$349,36
Total winrate: Not accurate because of mixed stakes.
Total study time 21,5h (reading, discussing other hands and stuff not included).

Review Goals July:

 Play around 12k hands - Yh played too much again...
:spade: 25h study time - almost but I think these set number is also high for a rec. Don't see anyone else really posting their study time so can't quit compare...
:diamond: 2 solves + analyses on my own - again not met but I feel my knowledge about the solver is growing. Hoping to take some steps here this month so I can do some solves on my own and more important make the right conclusions and adjustements in game.

So I am putting down the month with a small holliday, I actually leave in 3hours. So I'm planning to relax and think about what goals to set for august but also for the other months comming. I really would like a structure that I can grasp on. I know it's managable but I need to figure it out. Sam ewent with my work outs and after 6 months I have found a routine that works. Yh not every day is the same but the routine is what helps at those moments. If anyone has tips you're more than welcome to let me know - in blog or private :).

A little message from the health departement is that I lost a little over 15kg in the last 8 months. The HIIT work out routine is fixed into life and food adjustements have been made. These are now healthy like lets say 90% of the time (yes I still eat fries and chips some of the time, and beer :) ). Plan is to get into the world of macros, carb cycling and see what this will do. No weight goal specific as it becomes less and less important compared to my feeling and change in body (mussle).

Also here are tips more than welcome...

Dear Diary,

As august was even worse than July I did not feel the need to update. Nonetheless it is important to grow.

The 'downswing' continued and I had to drop down another stake. A year ago in these circumstances I would def got busto and made a do or die session. So eventually I recognised I have grown in that departement. But I have to admit I thought I was good enough for my aggressive BR approach but I'm not. I don't mind playing NL10 again but I feel bummed when I check the BR history...

Also had to withdrawl $100 for unforseen poker costs.

As it is I got great support from my coach, student college's and grinders who play higher stakes but went through the same thing.
The fact some of those gave me a staking offer was also a confidence boost. I did not accept an offer (for now) because I'm a bit affraid it would cause more pressure.

The biggest lesson i've learned in this period is that I need to work on my focus during playing time. By doing the mental training I am now recognising I'm sometimes just clicking buttons. Now I have some tools to be aware and get back to focus.

So far september is going back uphill and I hope things are turning around.

Ui - I am seeing your BR challenge reports and ...your BR only knows the wrong direction right now?
In any case, seeing your previous post: if you don't get what you want - you still get something: experience! And in your case the experience led to you becoming a better person - again judging from your previous post. Congratulations!

Thx a lot!

I indeed have changed a bit in this (almost) last year. But don't you worry I am planning to finish this challenge and even more after! So far the journy has shown me to invest less time in playing more in studying but most importantly how to be focussed when playing => Planning, structure etc. Not the easiest thing to do with a houshold and a building project but the fact poker is still here means I really want it. Had some account trouble so had to get into that stuff and so on...

Obv taking hits for a couple of weeks is not easy but I have been working hard on my game and things will turn around.
Atm September is still a losing month but EV is pretty nice (running about 15BI under EV). Will post graphs at the end of the month for sure!
