That is correct. People are like so greedy over here that if they don't make 6k/month and aren't national celebrities, it is not enough for them... But anyone who has tried poker, knows that a month above zero is worth celebrating.

It is super amazing, totally beyond my wildest dreams, that business at the moment!

Already +420€ for 9 hours of September "gamedev for kids" workshops; 90€ more should arrive but isn't problem, already +30€ would have been amazing for me.

Poker-wise month sitting at -4€ in October because of losses at KKpoker NL4 at beginning of month, but I feel I can beat it again, it was -9€ at lowest point. Betsafe has some really fun interface, I should also soon complete 100 points to get 1€ rakeback money (95/100 points completed). 10% of pure rakeback at NL2 isn't bad, especially if the winrate is like +20bb/100 or more; but I only have like a year of data, not more unfortunately.

Caused main solo dev indie game to halt lol. GMStudio asks for updates, and I took the update cause switching between many computers to run the kids workshops, so I updated to run projects from other computers. This now caused the main solo dev project to not compile anymore after 1 year of development. Super happy lol, chose a more social option as the business manager

Gamedev solo dev burnout lol. There was a main small platformer project as the main project of the whole company from July 1th, 2024 to October 16th, 2025; this went really well, but it has been really exhausting. I have also never made a game that big and after 1 year and 3 months it is like 50% ready. Luckily the kids gamedev workshops kicked in, so I don't have to do that much solo dev as main project any more. Will now have time to analyze, what is happening there. The main problem is, that the game is simply so big. Max biggest games I have made so far are both 3-month games, but this next one looks like is going to be 2-year or 3-year game. Which is really nice, I just didn't know that it takes that long to make a game of that size, kind of overestimated myself as a developer. The project is simply too huge to be completed quickly... It is "commercial competitive action child-themed "fighting" platformer" with final size about 100 MB for Windows PCs.

Are they using the old "Short Stack Strategy"?
I'm pretty sure SSS was not meant for heads-up play, but people do all sorts of weird things these days.

No, they're usually like loose aggressive opening 2x more than 60% ... I would say, willing to gamble, "I will play back" type...

SSS I haven't seen ever in action, maybe like one time in 2009

Put in some early morning NL2 cashgame sessions. I do believe work is the answer, and self-development. Also I shouldn't listen to complaining people, who have different visions about career life. My gaming career is in my own hands.

My gaming career.

Solo dev is making +0,50€/month;
Online poker pro is making +15€/month;
Gamedev workshops for kids is +450€/month.

So to play online poker NL2 cashgame, I need 20€ for poker; but I basically don't have that, I only have 2/3 of the necessary amount. There's one thing still though: I don't use all the money that comes from gamedev workshops. This should make up for it in this business model. The risk is too high at the moment, but gotta keep working :f_biggrin:

New poker goal: average 5 to 10 hours of gameplay/month. If I go more than that, super well done!

Went running again this morning; yesterday we were partying with girlfriend as kids went to my parents for one week. If you have been with kids for like 6 months in a row, you're like: "where's the kids? where do I need to put the food?" but you can just rest, relax, chat, watch movie without any risk of tomorrow getting ruined because of bad sleep schedule.

Then I played some 10cent DoN SnGs; is nice to take it a bit more light and not so serious all the time.

Month completed; you guys are right, HU isn't that profitable, but is profitable learning-wise... trying to use skills learned in HU in 6-max heads-up battles.
It does show 4,2 hours of 5 hours-goal; but I played a lot on KKpoker at the beginning of month which it doesn't show. Out of -3BI downswing and gamedev business went like 50x bigger this month; gaming market has high variance though so we can't really predict what will happen there.

Could put in another 20min session of NL2 cashgame; +€2,60; I really should keep practicing, but at the same time girlfriend constantly asks for help, so the main priority shifted to helping for few days again instead of practicing poker. Went running again in morning, this definitely helps and makes me happy, I will continue [online poker] fighting next week!
