was not much info on villian when 1st hand happened.
he was running 30\25\4 on 20h and i saw him ch-raising flop 1 times (from 1 sample lol)
I hate such spots and im usually folding flop or turn with no reads (plus turn is pretty bad card for me here) But i had some kind of feeling that he is capable of making some mooves.
And yes - my plan was to call almost any river - not only hitting set for sure.

i want you to comment on both hands please.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $1(BB) Replayer
SB ($113)
BB ($105)
UTG ($116)
UTG+1 ($130)
Hero ($101)
BTN ($101)

Dealt to Hero A♣ A♠

fold, fold, Hero raises to $3.50, fold, SB calls $3, fold

FLOP ($8) 6♠ K♠ 5♣

SB checks, Hero bets $5.50, SB raises to $15, Hero calls $9.50

TURN ($38) 6♠ K♠ 5♣ 9♦

SB bets $22, Hero calls $22

RIVER ($82) 6♠ K♠ 5♣ 9♦ A♥

SB bets $73.15 (AI), Hero calls $61 (AI)

SB shows Q♥ J♥
(Pre 20%, Flop 3.7%, Turn 9.1%)

Hero shows A♣ A♠
(Pre 80%, Flop 96.3%, Turn 90.9%)

Hero wins $201

and 2 hand later this happened:

UTG+1 ($100)

Hi,

1st hand: It's possible to call his flop raise, BUT every spade, 9, 2, Q, J, T will perhaps either kill your hand or the action. So I'd 3-bet/call shove flop or at least shove turn after his bet. He'd call with Kx most of the times.

2nd hand: With your reads and the current history that he's maybe tilting I'd snap call. To save some variance fold is ok, too.

Let's see what the judges think.

Best regards,
Anin

Thanks.
In 1st hand i dont like shoving: on flop we are isolating our hand against nuts and draws that will have like 40%. On turn straight gets there. And i think that there's too much of pure bluffs in his range to not raise his bets.
But u probably right.

i just post it cos 2nd hand totally depends on previous result.

Hand 1:
I think with the backdoor-FD in hand 1 it's ok to only call the checkraise on the flop, even if the flush gets there you can call one more barrel because of the possibility of him bluffing combined with your potequity.

W/o the ace of spades i'd rather 3bet (following Anin's reasoning).
He's oftentimes just not folding his draws and there are a lot of turns for you which are pretty bad.
For example this one: if you get it in vs a straight you have exactly 0% equity - a very bad scenaro.

As played on the turn i'd definitely raise, there's no point in calling another bet. He will call or fold with his draws, both are ok.
If you call his bet it's basically the same as if you raised and he folded - with the difference that he gets a free card.

And furthermore: what are you gonna do if the river bricks and he shoves? You have to call because he still has enough bluffs in his range to make a call profitable, but he check/folds some of his draws which would've called a turnraise.

Hand 2:
This is totally based on the assumptions you make.
My general assumption for spots like this is that when someone shoves he usually does it for value as long as he's not tilting.
So most of the time they have a very narrow range of {AA} or {AA,KK}.
Some players even add AK or QQ to their range and if they are very crazy (or dumb to put it bluntly) they shove there with JJ and TT.
I can only guess what their thoughts are but I think they think that these are high pairs ad they'll get called by worse of they shove.
However, 99 and worse usually don't look that "big" anymore so they usually get called for setvalue.

What that leaves us with is still basically nothing. Because of the previous hand he could or could not be tilting, we simply don't know.

So personally i'd fold this because i think even if this was a +EV call it was a marginal one, he still has QQ+ in his range and you're still only flipping against any2 overcards, but a call is definitely ok, too.

Thanks again.
totally agreed with 1st hand. I dont know why i put him to much of total air to just calldown.

what are you gonna do if the river bricks and he shoves?

frankly my plan was to call any nonspade ...and maybe 8 cos he could be semibluffing w like 67, 88, 89.

about 2nd:
i was sure that he could easily be tilting cos ppl often falls in tilt when they loose stack bluffing. But sometimes they just raise much. What could be a 100bb push in 5bb pot? I thought of leveling and that he wants me to think he's in tilt.

btw:

I think with the backdoor-FD in hand 1 it's ok to only call the checkraise on the flop

i was looking on it from different angle: the fact that we had Ace of FD discounts much of his FD combos and therefore increases chanses that he have another type of strong hands. So if villian is not agro monkey we could even fold in this spot.

That's also a way to look on the situation but in this case i think there aren't that many Ax-flushdraws in his range anyway because he's usually 3betting AJs+ preflop and he usually folds A8s and worse preflop (in this specific hand).
So A9s and ATs are the only combos that he could usually have which he can't now.
But your approach is definitely worth considering in general.
