[Closed] Making Difficult Lay-Downs

Well if you KNOW you are calling with the worst hand, then sweat sessions would probably be your best bet to create a little more dicipline in your game....

Having explain why you are calling will stop you pretty quick when you have to say...."ummm I know I am beat but still want to call"...

It is very annoying when they have the 1 card in 52 that you can't beat.

And I know he probably has it but I stupidly call anyway cause I like well maybe he has Jd but I doubt it . I should have just checked the river damn it .

But then I could also fold KK everytime someone raise all in before flop too , Yeah fold everything .

Grailer: bet/fold river is the correct line imo. at 0.02/0.04 they're not folding any flush, and probably not betting most of them themselves, so you get value from any lower flush or any random junk he feels like calling. Once he raises the river though it's too likely he has you beat. Especially since he over shoves 4.5 to a pot of 2.2. You need to think "Do I think I'm good here 55~ percent of the time?".

That's kinda why I posted this hand , I knew I was beat yet I still called, thus I have psychology issues with making tough lay downs.

As long as you know you're making mistakes, and doing what you can to correct 'em, you're on the right track. Just remember that especially in the low stakes on 4 flush/straight boards no one is bluffing.

And try not to be results oriented. make sure you recognize the spots where you lost because of a cooler, not because you should have folded. Like those 2 hands above where they made full houses and folded. Without any huge reads it's usually just a bad fold.

Hand #1: If you don't know he's 3betting you with a wide range, just fold pre. If not, shove pre. He's so short by the time you call his bet he only has a pot sized bet and a bit left.

Hand #2: I usually 3bet this pre. As played I call flop, intending to bet if he checks the a blank turn, and call a turn bet. You're probably ahead. By raising the flop you chase out anything you beat, and keep in only hands that beat you.

Hand #3: Well played, duh.
