The ace was such a scare card for me, since the best draw just got there and if he just called me with top top he just made better two pair.. Those were the hands i was scared of, so i decided to make a safe laydown.

(Btw the villain showed his hand, it was T9o.)

Hello Alficor1,

I like your line, he is not going to bet out that big with weaker hand than yours I guess, you have shown 2 streets aggression and now he bets so big on river, you are likely beat.

Hmmm, I actually think checking the river looks a bit weak.
I would have probably bet the river smaller, maybe have pot... and folded on a raise, and be happy on a call or a fold.

Just my thoughts

Yes of course you could Bet/Fold there smallish on river also but with Checking you let him bluff some of his range sometimes but after he is betting so big, we are likely beat. It's hard for him to Call 3 streets with a lot weaker hand.
