$1/$2 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)
Preflop: Hero is BB with Q:s, Q:d.
MP3 raises, CO folds, BU calls, SB calls(All-In), Hero calls
An interesting preflop scenario here.
EP is a TAG & kinda LAG. BTN is a fish. 43/20 and honest aggression postflop. SB is a fish, calls all in pre.
With the SB all in, protection goes sort of out the window at this point in the hand. Clearly I have a value raise but I felt there were some good reasons for taking another line.
I felt like if i 3-bet I wind up isolating myself postflop against EP quite often (mostly whenever he raises the flop tbh) and he'll play quite well against my 3-bet range. I also end up squeezing him out on a lot of flop textures because he knows a player is all in and theres a guy to act behind him.
By contrast, I felt like I could trap the fish for extra bets postflop while also getting EP to make mistakes, drawing incorrectly with his Ax range or overplaying worse made hands. In both scenarios this will tend to trap the BTN fish for extra bets.
