Hey Collin, I never attended a live coaching of yours but I just checked out the 18-man video that was posted a week ago, I must say very nice, I really liked to see the notepad calculation on how bad flipping is in ICM spots.

I classify 45-mans (and $15 ODs, which are a natural counterpart of $7 45-mans) as big-field MTSnGs because they have a break every hour, as opposed to 18-mans that only have a break every 2 hours (at 55 minutes past odd hours, i.e. 13:55 ET, 15:55, etc.), and the latter is actually the biggest disadvantage of 18-mans to me 
45-mans last for up to 90 minutes most of the time, while an 18-man may last for 65-70 minutes, so 45-mans aren't that different in terms of duration and definitely worth a try.
And actually, the bubble factor is about the same in 18-mans as in 45-mans, so I was wrong when I was thinking that they're very different. They aren't.
It's a bit harder to estimate the EV ROI in 45-mans, though - the chip EV, as a metric of pre-final-table skill, converges slower in 45-mans because the final table typically starts at a higher blind level, and reaching it requires one to grow the stack by 3-5 times and withstand more variance in the process. So, to track your pre-FT performance, you have to look at bb/100 figures for each blind level separately and make an estimate by linear regression taking into account that 'true' bb/100 winrates decline as the blinds grow.
Tony, that's right! You need about 5 K chips to reach the FT so you gotta triple your stack. 7 places paid so you are in chipEV mode at the beginning and before FT ICM.

The ICM effects are significant enough at the final 2 tables already*; what I meant is that PT4 can calculate the ICM EV at final tables only (the reason is that Stars' client doesn't record stack sizes at tables other than Hero's into the HH file), so alas the chip EV ('All-in Equity Adjusted') and EV bb/100 ('All-in Equity Adjusted BB') per blind level are the exactest available measures of pre-FT skill.
* For example, if 20 players remain with equal stacks in a 45-man, and one of them doubles up, then their equity increases from 5% of the prize pool to a mere 9.06%, according to the equity calculator at the HoldemResources site; thus the risk premium is (5/9.06) - 50% ~= 55.19% - 50% = 5.19% (i.e., if there were no blinds, one would need a 55.19% equity in order to stack off preflop vs 1 opponent). This risk premium is about the same as the one at the start of a 9-man or when 12 players are left in an 18-man. Thus it's advisable to study pre-FT spots in the MTT ICM mode in ICMizer / HRC, using the actual stack sizes at Hero's table and making reasonable assumptions about the stack size distributions at the other table(s).
