We had avocado, sprouts and cream cheese sandwiches for supper last night.
Sounds weird, but I love 'em

We have been watching "The Lord of the Rings" at night over the past few days, complete with popcorn.

Not quite the same as going to the movies, but it is still better than just playing games on the phone.

One problem I have with the movies is that the fight scenes are far too long, and after a few minutes my eyes glaze over

But I love the story -- I've read the books so many times.
I realized last night that in September it will be 50 years since I first read them.
My roommate in University had a set including "The Hobbit", and I started on Friday night, and finished them all before my first class on Monday.
I don't remember sleeping, but I must have.

I have been growing fond of television series in recent years. '' Game of Thrones '' remains unattainable and I have watched all seasons already 2 times.

Then below, as you prefer, I put '' The Night Manager '', '' Yellowstone '' and right now I'm also watching Ridley Scott's '' raised by Wolves ''.

I really liked Game of Thrones at the beginning, but by the middle of the 6th season I was starting to wish they would get to the end.
Eventually they did, but I really disliked how they ended it.

Harrier's Burgeria

There will be another meatless Tuesday tomorrow for the trolls, and I already got myself covered with some fake chicken. As for today, I made my non-meatless time count to make some more high-grade diner style burgers.

Those ones had some good quality Angus beef patties on brioche buns with lettuce, cheddar, bacon, jalapeños and BBQ sauce, one of my tried and tested combinations.

Wasn't all that cheap, but a cut above the usual fare.

Careful -- if it is too interesting it might exceed the limit for this thread...

Sooo, what did I eat?

For breakfast I had oatmeal (as always), for lunch there were URGENT MUSSGOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pseudo-chicken, Kraut-salad and some glutenfree bread.

For dessert I had more glutenfree bread with strawberry jam and some vegan chocolate.

Besides, I snacked some more bread with olives in the afternoon.

"Kraut-salad" in this case refers to a version of coleslaw, not just "salad for Germans".

I actually figured that out, because I once worked at an auction.[1]

[1] Which makes no sense, except

Spoiler

it was a general auction house, and besides farm equipment, furniture and general bric-a-brac we did antiques from time to time -- including...

I had goodbye-deer for lunch. Why it´s called "goodbye-deer"? Because the season is over, it´s spring. It was our last piece of deer in the refrigerator. There´s no more deer until fall. So, that was my goodbye-deer. _ugly:

A while back I acquired a car that had the most horribly noisy windshield wipers.
So one day I got sick and tired of listening to the chatter and bought a set of Bosch OEM replacement blades.
I chose that brand because the packaging made a point of describing how quiet they were.

Were they?
I've no idea because since I bought them, I have not had occasion to drive in the rain.
Every time I have needed to drive, the whether has been fine.

I was worried I might have caused a major drought, but fortunately I don't drive that much these days...

Maggi Mussgoes

During a cursory cleaning in the kitchen, I discovered a bunch of packages with Maggi mixes that have expired some time last year. Since I figure they should still be good, rather than throwing them away, I decided to use them all up within the next couple of weeks and present another treat from Maggi's delectable line-up here each time.

Episode 1: Turkey strips in savory soy sauce
Expired 08/2020

I've made this dish a couple of times before, I may have even posted about it once. You need 250 g of turkey or chicken (I used turkey this time) and fry it with carrots and red bell peppers. That carrot was actually home-grown in our own backyard.

Add 250 ml of water, some leek and that lovely Maggi mix.

And there you go.

I served it with some jasmine rice. Not included is decent lighting.
