I never eat "sliders"[1] -- more bread than anything else.
For those I would just eat them with a knife and fork -- and maybe just eat the buns on the side
[1] Why are they called "sliders" anyway?

Got me there... Wikipedia couldn't help either.
That was a new brand of slider buns I tried, btw, because the one I used before wasn't available anymore. The ones I used now were inferior, as far as I can tell, they seemed pretty dry. Too bad I bought two packs, because I don't go to that store that often, and slider buns are pretty rare around here.
And one problem with the version I made is that the standard method of building them, in which you smear the sauce on the top bun first, put lettuce on it, then put it down on the rest, doesn't work at all for those "more tall than wide burgers". The result is that the top patty is swimming in sauce while the bottom one is completely dry.
Better to stick to single stacks or use thinner patties, like they actually do at BK.
I have no idea whether this is true or not:

and a few similar origin stories emerged

So like many slang terms, we'll never really know...
For today's fake chicken tortilla wraps (it's No Meat Tuesday, after all), I prepared some of Harrier's original chili barbecue sauce.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of store-bought barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons of store-bought chili sauce
Yields about 4 tablespoons.
Looking forward to all the 5-star reviews on recipe sites, saying "It was good, I decided to leave out the chili sauce, and also used mayonnaise instead of barbecue sauce, but great recipe, will make again!"
And speaking of barbecue, looks like we now own a grill:

Our neighbors got a better one by now and didn't want their old one anymore, so it's ours.
Summer 2022, here we come!

I decided to leave out the barbecue sauce and the chili sauce and took cheese instead. Added fake pasta to my fake Mac n Cheese. But excellent! 5 stars! Will definitely make that again.
I had the same thing, only instead of fake chicken tortilla wraps with bbq sauce, I used a scotch pie, and had a slice of baked pumpkin w/o sauce.
Off once again to visit my brother.
110km in the pouring rain each way.
I hope to get a lot accomplished today though.
Wish me luck
Well, we did get a lot done.
Including moving a huge, extremely heavy cabinet from the house to the second-store.
The store is run by the Women's shelter society, and they were happy to get the donation.
Not so happy when they realized how big it is.
Luckily my grandson and I were assisted by 3 kind customers who were able to manhandle the beast into position.
Here it is before we moved it...
