Btw keep posting some work from equilab, it motivates me to work on my game as well, i even downloaded power equilab and spent over two hours yesterday to put there all ranges that i wanted to, so i am ready for better session reviews

Little update:
I felt quite Ill last few days, sweating it out with low volumes and no excercise, still managed to play some, breakeven.

Tomorrow thought is a big thing - stream of Pre-round of Heads up championship between Deliveranced and ZackBigPack.
If you haven't heard of these names, they are undoubtedly 2 of the strongest players in the competition, with ZackBigPack being a heads up specialist who plays even 10/20 regularly and Deliveranced playing those stakes as well.

Indeed they decided to bam it up a notch and instead of $50 stakes, play on NL$1000 on 3 tables right off the bat, so we are getting one of the best matches of the competition, right in the first round. So if you want to learn how to start tables in ring games or own your girlfriend Heads up (I lost 2x to 2 different Ex girlfriends in my lifetime when playing HU for funzies. True story :f_rolleyes:) you can't miss this.

Expect a real nail biter till the end with modern approach towards postflop sizings, range manipulation and lots of 4bet pots. Because of the match being so high level, we do not have access to holecards and instead will try to guess with a guest co-commentator KTUwhat ranges these players have and try to make sense of their play.

Come and guess with us tomorrow and see how modern heads up at high stakes is played while having some fun at 17:00 CET at http://www.pokerstrategy.com/coaching/

Small update:
healthI've been feeling pretty ill all week, with chest infection and turns out I will have to go for a tooth extraction next week because it's too infected.

I got my RTG. This is me before the procedure:

And this is me after:

I felt tired throughout the week, painkillers, ill, no exercise... not the perfect combination
Played 13:28Hrs and 6300 hands so far, but it was hard to focus indeed. When I'm tired my self control is lower, I start watching shows, overloading my brain on the computer which makes me focus even worse, being ill has always been my Achilles heel of sorts.

I will still aim at the remaining 16.5 HRS Saturday+Sunday indeed. already went for a run today up towards a local hill and it felt great

Date
Took the trollish chick to meetfactory - which is basically an abandoned warehouse with arts exhibitions, a concert hall etc.

There was shitloads of hipsters there, slightly scary environment, modern abstract art (you know the kind where it's hard to tell if the pieces are either from an utter genius or a mentally challenged child from a pre-school)
And when a guy looking like this told us that the psychedelic show with dancers, projectors and lots of movement will start in the 4*3m room he was standing in in 30 minutes we realized that this place is not meant for people not on drugs.

After that she tricked me into going into a gaybar. Alone. While telling the bouncer that her "friend" will just look around to see if he likes someone... fun times.

Tonight there is a Slovakian night - 2,000 people, Slovakian (absolutely horrendous btw besides some hip hop) music, slovakian liqueur and national food. And ladies of course. And I can't miss that so I'll have a look and later on meet up with a fellow poker player from Slovakia who will help me translate - that should be fun indeed.

HU championship
Commented on first round, it was 2 NL1k regs and you can watch it here
http://www.pokerstrategy.com/video/37181/

This time it was pre-recorded because we really wanted these 2 guys to show us how high level HU is played so I've seen it beforehand once when recording it and it was a great learning experience - KTU was a very knowledgeable commentator and it was more instructional video and discussion about specific spots and overall HU strategy than play by play action that will happen when we can't stop the video.

It could take us some 5 hours ++ to discuss the whole match that way so we focused on selected hands and spots instead.

Something weird happened - my PC died for a second 3 times during the match, it's never happened before or since which was pretty annoying I must say. But besides that it was a very interesting first round so check it out guys and don't forget to comment.

Ok today 5:32, all of them timed with Tomighty+stayfocusd on nuclear. And it showed - I take time on decisions, when I lose a pot I let it suck in, think about the feelings+feel fine right away instead of hiding behind procrastinating, and I pick up loads more pots with varied sizings - and it shows in redline. It actually feels like I think about stuff besides sizing etc. in calmer periods i.e. about mindset things, sizings, ranges. I even opened equilab and kept a good reg to my left on purpose to test my default ranges (they need work it turns out. e.g. snowie opens 40% otb + I worked from 50% vs 2 aggro good people in blinds and set up call+4b ranges from that frequency)

Spoiler

This was really the only day in the week when I played properly focused (health stuff+went out, no excercise, focus on hu championship).

Week 4
12024 hands
BR 1060
+0

Side site: 2:14 Hrs 841hands - $102.75
Main site: 23:29Hrs 11183hands +92.10 +11TS

Lesson learned - I really need to NOT play when I'm really ill. Side site was all in the first day, and this is main site graph for the week:

Spoiler

I didn't do myself any favors. I can just work on ranges/community show production value/watching videos next time and play when I'm healthy and can focus properly.

WEEK4RECAP
- 30 hours with 25%+ call any PFR in BB. minimum 10 hrs with focusd nuclear
-25/30 hrs
-5.5/10 with nuclear
-2 exercise units
-150%: 2x run, 1x strenght.
-Community show
-did HU championship instead
-1 date
Done, loads of fun she's a great girl :)
-1x attend Slovakian night (1.5k people party)
I went, horrendous music, great looking girls, and my pal with incredibly high standards. Poker players seem to go after supermodels only jeesh.
When I'm on a night out I just go ahead and talk to girls without pre-judging, because it's fun - I don't even want to have a result or anything, I simply enjoy it . I ended up going alone to 2 chicks a few times while my "wingman" was like "fuck this" and let me entertain them alone while standing 3 metres away from us. Not cool bro
- get health stuff sorted
went 3x to dentist, taking pills for chest.
- get faster internet for HU championship commentary
Done, got 40Mbit download, 4Mbit upload so I can handle live streams smoothly now :)

WEEK5 Goals
[ ] 30Hours grind. 10 Focusd Nuclear
[ ] 4 Excercise Units
[ ] 2 things in town/ visit new places etc.
[ ] 1 Date
[ ] Show/HU champ stream.
[ ] dentist

Great one again
- Minigolf ( I lost. She cheated tho ) =>walk to Ikea (obvious "pretend it's our house" cliche), meatballs=>night walk around a lake, looking at the stars (and stuff)
[X] Show/HU champ stream.
Community show with Tim64 - one of the best ones yet I'd say, Tim's just very good at expressing himself, has his life in order. It also made me try SPin N Gos and as you can see I'm playing them here and there since with sick volume of 38 - definitely fire up the podcast when it comes out if you want to try this variant and want to get to know more about it if you play cash like me.
Lackoo vs PrmordialAA
Two heavyweights clashed in this match, it was nice to see the "battle of two worlds" between a cash game specialist and a great SnG/MTT player - from what we have seen Lackoo definitely had the "home turf" advantage in terms of sizings etc. But because of Primordial's 3bb sizing pre we got loads of 3bet and 4bet pots through the match and it was really fun to watch. And it was completely different from the previous one where 2 HU specialists played too :)

For me it was a first and a bit hectic - preparation for and the show with Tim64 the day before, getting someone to come along and comment with me (In the end I was playing basketball with my pal Peter in the afternoon, he destroyed me with his solid 80% free throw percentage etc. vs mine 20%, so I just asked for him to come along :))

I was really tired from the show the day beforehand and basketball I know Peter was too, and it took some getting used to manage to get all the major spots, keep with the action that's happening while not interrupting the co-caster who's talking about spots when 3 tables rly heavy on 4bet and large pots are running. I also used to do this with girls all the time - talk way too much when I'm tired/nervous and it showed in the podcast so much so that one of you in chat told me to talk less let Pete talk more

Just like with girls though, I will get better. Now they usually do about 80% of the talking on dates while I ask questions, and the 20% is just my fun stories instead of rambling, I will get there with the commentary too eventually Minus the kino escalation of course ;p

By the way any feedback on the commenting, who'd you want to come along as co-caster etc. is welcome

Jeesh, the dentist was a proper butcher. A good one though.
When I went to the ER 2 weeks ago the anesthesia got into my eye area and I couldn't close it and it hurt like mother*****.

This guy used like 8 tools rocked my head, said "I knew this would happen" when he shattered the tooth while rocking back and forth, trying it to take it out, kept saying "oh My" and "good boy". I was "one in a thousand" with how weird the roots were apparently...It took him about 35 minutes of solid butcher work to take the tooth out piece by piece. And I didn't really feel a thing and only the tooth area feels numb.

Anyways, I'm not doing the same mistake as 2weeks back - I won't be playing until peak time tonight 7PMish as I'm under anesthesia+painkillers and instead will do a proper review of last 2 weeks.

LAST 2 WEEKS REVIEW

I played ill and stressed out besides like 2 days in this, so it'll be a great exercise to point out mistakes I do in my B game
graphs:

Spoiler

Filtered for 3handed+ (Played HU - got killed/sunrun in couple matches when I played bad and started tilting) - actually around 8bb/100 EVBB which is around what I'd expect 4 tabling

-redline goinf down - I keep it close to B/E with A game, I guess this is to be expected when I played my B or worse most of the time

Positional:

-21.5% call in BB still too low, aim is 25%

all winrates within norm, besides SB - the loss rate is about double of what it should be, I'll have a look at that.

Fold to 3B- 89% oO damn son
actually when I filter for RFI the numbers are fine

I do have 70% fold to 3bet
but I got 3bet just 12.5% of the time
I'm using Janda's standard 42% ish in SB PFR vs aggro guys so just from stats it seems like I'm adjusting well - BvB is not the issue here.

3BET stat: .96bb/100 winrate

Seems fine when looking at hands actually, just runbad vs recrs.

2 hands evaluated tho:

https://www.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=2013900#post2013900

So if it's not RFI or 3bet, it's gonna be cold call. TBC later today :)

EDIT: Eh. I found a poo poo kaka - call preflop 2bet SB first. tiny samples ofc, let's have a look anyways.
Only good positions are BB (-40 is pretty good I assume, most of it is calling with a weak range) and BU obviously. SB - most hands after them2, worst winrate.

"Tooth" starting to hurt as anasthesia is wearing off + bleeding didn't stop yet rly, taking a break. Btw none of these stats are really indicative as the samples are all but completely insignificant - just gives me an area to focus on I wouldn't work on otherwise.

Think the main thing will be looking at CC in BB afterwards as that's the biggest change I was trying to make and I've been just trying out what works.

Ok some spots, look at range:

The rest are exploitive plays/coolers really. all I need to do is cut out them 55 46s etc. and more explo calls preflop and I'll be fine :)

Damn just found out I am breakeven HU for the year
9,850 hands 0.36 AI EV bb/100

21.8bb/100 in rake...lol

It just might be that I have to stop playing HU altogether besides starting tables until I reach NL100+ as moving up is a priority
But having a 20bb/100+ edge on your opposition and not making any money is kinda harsh :)
It's great for practice though, I just love HU, but it also takes a lot of attention from other tables on the other hand

Some marked hands for review:

Well, this was fun. Tooth hole stopped bleeding, I'm super tired cause of painkillers+ only thing I ate all day was icecream because I can't eat anything solid :]
and now it's time for some fun watching dota and sleep.

Even managed to play some 2 tabling NL16 zoom today with pretty rigid chart based preflop game

I might actually dabble back into Zoom if I keep up the good work on standardizing ranges and solid default game. Which was always a struggle for a guy who just loves his notes and exploiting people - just listen to the HU championship podcast and my struggle with Marshall in regards to this - I'm very much like Epilogger http://www.pokerstrategy.com/video/37261/

I didn't manage to watch any videos today, but as you can see there's loads of what you can learn by just looking at your database+posting hands. I actually might make it a new by-weekly or monthly ritual, not just when I'm drugged and in pain :)

Tomorrow's grind, hopefully my face won't swell up and then there's this Expat event for around 1000 people - even tho I'm starting to get completely crazy about that girl I'm dating it never hurts to brush up them mad PUA skills on foreign chicks to stay in practice :)

BR: $965

[ ] 35Hrs
- 23:17 pfft.
- No Nuclear

The week was actually really eventful, doesn't really feel like I had proper time for grind again meh. Next week is Spartan Race so it'll be short.

My aim is to do a proper 2 grind weeks afterwards both 40hr+ with no side goals as I'm slipping on volume.

[X]1Date
- Phone date. I had the tooth extraction+was scheduling the HU championship match/wasn't sure when it'd be, and was busy in general. So couldn't set a date until Thursday and the girl I'm seeing actually went for a visit to Ukraine and I've spent over an hour on the phone with her without even realizing. I didn't take her rly seriously so far as she always took her time responding to texts and doesn't contact me between dates even when I didn't call for a full week so I've been talking to other girls but if I'd be lying if I'd say I'm not getting attached to her.

Also had a "date" on this expat party see below.

[X]4 Excercise units
- Gym
- Run
- Basketball with Marshall
- Street workout today. I actually went to the gym, head not working, and domehow sleepwalked my way to a street workout place. I love srping/summer truly

[X]2x stuff in town
Went to an expat party on Tuesday in this fancy ass place:

I had the complicated tooth extraction the day before so was really messed up, just went there to chat to people, and definitely not drink or kiss anyone, I was super tired from the surgery.
Of course, things got out of hand got messed up on wine super fast - it was me, Marshall and his friend and you sort of go with the flow when you guys keep rotating rounds :)

Met this Small blonde chick with a posh accent who turned out to be crazy and things got out of hand. I guess that counts as a date too ;p

On Friday I went to a party of poker players in Prague - cool guys, good mix of guys - Me Marshall, His former coach who's actually married, some midstakes guys and a HUSnG dude that's just so British it's awesome, just like my pals back in Scotland. And a few more, I'm awful with names sorry bros if I you are reading this :D
There was an actual punch bowl like in the movies - I've never seen that in my life in the UK or CZE so things got out of hand again. This time no regrets though - drunken chats with great poker players across disciplines are soo much fun. And I actually learned a ton from people, it's amazing how wide of a variety of folk are in the industry and each and every one of them understands poker differently.

After that the obligatory tour in town. I got bored, and asked the guys for some tasks to do - I convinced a redhaired chick to give me one of her hair, and got a shot from one of the guys in exchange. Then spent 40 minutes chatting to 4 new mums on a night out that met at the hospital after giving birth (I had soo many questions ofc :D). Then to a biologist chick - had to of course bounce ideas I acquired at the chemistry of love lecture off her right :D And an Ukranian mum, I just had to find out ho Ukranian chicks behave. And apparently it's not normal to call/text first to a guy ever even if a girl likes him. Home at 5, after a 2 phase training... Needless to say, I was super tired over the weekend, but managed to put in some volume still.

Oh and it was my mum's birthday. Her Name#s Hana so I used my sick baking+arts skills to write her name on a cake. Nailed it.

[X]HU champ
Great Match - It went as expected with Primordial being smart but having trouble adjusting to modern HU CG.
[X]tooth extraction
It sucked boo but I'm getting back to normal now.

Eh... Woke up with pain in the neck and throat, sweaty and tired. Turns out I have either Tonsillitis or Mononucleosis. And have to wait for the results till Monday.
When I asked the doctor if I can go to the Spartan (mud) race anyways on Saturday, she looked at me like I'm actually mentally retarded. And told me I can't go out in to the sun even. Bye race I was preparing for for months. Oh well, you win some you lose some :)

In the following days I will focus on Sweat sessions. I mean, literally. I will sweat in the bed drinking tea trying to sweat this bitch out.

Hopefully I will be able to talk by Sunday for the next round of the HU championship :)

Yeah so I had a fever, I'm still sweating in bed, and force myself to stay there by watching movies. I'm getting better tho, hoping it's just tonsilitis and not mono :)

I haven't watched a movie uninterrupted alone in...since I can even remember. Always work on poker/talk about poker/play poker/am on skype/show etc.) or it's with girls. And I don't really do cinema, seems pointless unless it's a festival or sth.

So my aim is to watch them for another year in advance ;p

So far I've seen.
- Groundhog Day (awesome)
- High fidelity (sucks balls, couldn't finish. The guy behaves like such a pussy :))
- Interstellar (Rly liked it. Very A.C. Clarkesque feel to it. Even tho the Matt Damon story line felt really forced - I guess people need to see some action though)
- Tangled (Awesome, best song ever:

)
- Bling Ring (Great acting by hermione, was okay)
- Lost In translation (awesome)
- Ride Along (guilty pleasure movie, fun tho :)
- The Interview (LOved it )
- Monsters University (Prolly funnier if you know the original, still cool tho)
- Big Hero6 (7/10, fun)
- How to train your dragon 2 (Fun one as well, cool ending too)
- Under the skin (was cool to see Scotland and hear the accent again, you guys prolly won't understand some people there even. But I had to skip through it as I was watching with a fever+headache and this artsy movie just isn't gonna make you feel good, Scarlett or not)

Now I have Whiplash DLED, Hunger games catching fire - and if you guys have any tips let me know I should have time for a couple more.

I'm weak and on antibiotics so I'm also more emotional, my eyes were tearing up a few times lol, probably a good time to watch movies ;p

And hopefully tomorrow I'll be fit enough to return to grind/working on poker.

I feel real healthy now after the antibiotics, good times :)

Also went to the gym 3times - I'm super weak after pretty much a month of being ill but it sure feels good to be back :)

My friends came to Prague, it was one of them's birthday and we got him a Selfie stick.
had fun with it immediately:

I did a couple sweat sessions, learned not to ignore wwsf and wtsd. Poker wise My play is understandably rusty and I'm getting back into it , but I felt I played reasonably well so expecting to have a good week :)

Casted 2 games actually
First semifinal was a nail biter till the end, where meistermeises beat the fan favorite lackoo. We needed to wait for the graphs till the very end tho. It was tough for me to cast as I was super tired from the tonsilitis but it turned out to be one of the closest endings all tournament.

Second game tho is definitely my favorite from all the matches!
Great Lackoo Commentary with some very good analysis withfunny moments guaranteed, and an incredible drama until the end with players choking, finish line photographs (aka graphs) required.
And we even had overtime as only 276 hands have been played, with some added drama and a hand that could end it all.

If you were to watch one match from the whole tournament, I'd recommend this one.

Pfff Pokerstrategy HU championship is over, Grats Meistermeises, his aggression took it down in the end, well deserved, unconventional style won indeed.
Thank you all for tuning in, Poker strategy for letting me commentate and get these awesome guests. Special thanks goes to: KTU, Marshall28, Itsnevereasy, Lackoo, primordialAA, Deliveranced for coming along to comment for free, Teddy for all the work and of course Sven. I hope you guys were entertained and learned something too, I'm sure I did.

It's been hectic lately, being ill pretty badly, hu championship, going out, dating, stuff in town...

Volume and focus on poker has suffered tremendously, and it feels like coming back after a break. I'm emotional at the tables, fundamentals and self belief is in the background somewhere. The time has come to pull back focus on the grind (along with some pokerstrategy stuff coming up)
:)

Actions to get back into serious mode after a break
- low table
- I cut sessions to 45 minutes using pomodoro tomighty
- bought a notepad, to think on paper and spew my thoughts on, my brain is way over cluttered right now.

Watching. Over the next few day I'll spew this on paper and get to my vision down as schnitzelfish recommends + re-focus on important stuff.
http://www.pokerstrategy.com/video/29271/

Things necessary
1) Vision

- why you play poker
- which non monetary aspects of poker do you enjoy
- what do you want to achieve in poker (long term)
- what kind of poker player do you want to be

2) Activities
What do you need to do in order to get to your vision?
List specific activities that you can start doing TODAY to get closer to your vision

3) Self - reflection. (no of hands, hrs, focus etc....)

If you lose motivation: Break down activities to small pieces, and work on the one thing at a time.
E.g.set targets, if you lose motivation, lower them accordingly (sellf reflection - if I feel like crap, I realistically can play just lower volume etc.

howgh, I'm off to brainstorm, and get someone to sweat my game :)
