So I played my first session today, some 100bb/400, aka lost 2 buy ins in 200 hands. And with the low volume and focus on grinding I realized I feel fear, fear of not winning, feel of playing bad (which I have last month with the non grind stuff going on)- it's easy if you play low volumes on your B- game and have a bad stretch :)

So I went back and dug up my old transcript of DrGiggy - a great player who used to make videos for a site that's more or less dead now.

Enjoy

10% agree with what Dr.Giggy said. Fear plays a huge role in how you perform (in everything not just poker). If it's not possible to remove it completely, then you have to understand what triggers it. For me its having a big downswing. So I like to reduce my risks once I am at a risk for going into a considerable downswing. Obviously this is at a cost, since I am giving up EV by playing lower stakes/ lower variance games - but I think its worth it as it enables me to play my A/B game almost continuously.

cheers,

itsnevereasy.

p.s. I also play fearless once I win or lose a lot and it almost always my A game.

Yeah that's a great point, adjusting BRM based on your brain's shortcomings, thanks :)

So I'm playing some smaller stakes to get ready for Monday's video
-Focus on taking notes, color coding. This is definitely my strength - I just enjoy owning people and I'm not even sure if I should reveal all my secrets tho

Got to play some HU too: Fun hand where I used a blatant sizing tell + blockers vs a weakish reg, I'm fairly certain he folded a weak ace

Damn, I have momentum, made many buy ins this week, won some at NL50 too - hopefully I can stay there but now going to my home town to talk to my pals, see my grandma after like 6 months :)

This was my Thursday for example

8 sessions
+13BI
and watched kung fury
and went for a run
and watched a sauce video
and podcast on menprovement
and went to half a coaching on 3b pots by double2
and had a theory convo about gto stuff

+ doing no porn nofap now, successfully so far. Discussing a lot of hands with pals. And going for naps+runs, morning shovers, write down feelings in a diary (I dump all my thoughts in there, Thx Double2 - took me 3 months to actually apply what you recommended in the show :))

Yesterday I've spent over an hour sweating a 25/50 6max table with a huge drooler, commenting on it with my pal on skype chat - just wanted to see how the regs react, Katya18 was doing some isoing to 3bb woth T6o OTB for example with weak bumhunter regs in the blinds. But my friend who plays 5/10 tells me to tighten up my isos, and the NL Beginner strategy says the same so I'll follow suit.

Aim is to not get *completely* wasted tonight so I can keep the momentum going ;)

Btw the coaching on Monday should be fun - I will actually play my A game there, as the focus will be on taking notes and color coding, and will be less about PF ranges suited to beginners

I have never been this sick in my life
There was Vodka+Juice at the pub in my home town for $1.1, didn't end well :)

Week 13 review
Main site 17:59hrs 9,415 hands
Side site 5hrs 1923 hands
EDIT: Dayum I actually played on Netbet as well as part of Eurotrip Coaching and some after since I had money there 4,59 hours
Deposited 20euro, now I'm at 48 Eur after 4.5hrs.

Good to know that if I busto it'll be pretty easy to do it all over again ;p

We went to a book store - she likes soo many of those fantasy books, then we made home made cookies. I ate like 20 and was sick tomorrow from all the sugar, lol

Friday I went to a polish day, had some unhealthy food again
It was fun going to town alone for a change, I listen to Menprovement podcasts on the way there, do whatever I want check out stuff. I mean I also do it with the awesome girl I'm dating, we're both explorers of random stuff but She's like really distracting (in a good way). Just taking a camera walking alone, thinking about poker etc. is definitely needed once in a while.

Then yesterday I went to my hometown as mentioned. I actually spoke to my 81y old Grandma, and she's super awesome - excercising every day, she's really into health stuff, hired a dietitian, and I will definitely start living more healthily/drink less.

I also managed to go for a run 3 times, feels awesome when it's summer, I will try to go every day now.
Basically when I feel weird/tilted it goes like Run=>Shower=> Nap with hypnosis from paul Mckenna=> Grind.

Aaand studied a lot, posted hands, watched my highstakes friend play, he watched me+gave me some great advice, railed 5k NL commenting on it Ive seen videos anc coachings from w34z3l, Double2 and some confidant

side side 8hrs 2939hands -11.65bb/100

Went to an expat event with my friend - talked to every single person there/lots of trolling.
I actually quit alcohol, so it was a whole new ball game approaching strangers completely sober, nerve wracking at first but got into it. Still can't be completely myself and use my comedic side too much though with especially beautiful women when sober so defo want to keep up practicing.

Had a date, great one again. Walk to metronome/music festival, even tried mock resuscitation lol.

Then went to watch The Good, Bad and the Ugly. But for some reason The girl did not appreciate it's manly qualities? Chicks are weird sometimes
And went to a concert today at the river side, was fun too.

I'm actually now not drinking alcohol, don't watch porn, run or walk pretty much daily and try to limit simple sugar intake. No challenge or goals, just do it because I like my normal state and don't feel like I need that stuff.

Week15 Review:
Lost moneys
Played 13k hands
Burned out :)

Week16 review
I actually realized that ever since the BR challenge started...I've played 4 months without any break whatsoever besides a weekend.
HU championship, Community show, coaching, lots of learning, talking to people.

I stopped focusing started hating poker. So I actually took a week off
Besides some 3.5k hands that I played 10 hours
And enjoyed the summer.

Here's the stuff I've done last week:
1) Valley in the middle of town
Amazing Area, Pretty proud of my pics - some got recognition in pro photographer groups for this one:

This one's pretty cool too imo:

Seen some bugs:

Spoiler

2) Monday - Social Practice
SO After coaching I took off and went to a club in town
to do some social practice - just with a goal to talk to 10 random strangers, while being sober.
It was fun, I've met a few road tripping groups that travel through Europe. A girl who wants to do a soul searching gap year across asia
And learned that apparently the country with the highest consumption of Guinness is Nigeria :)
3) Tuesday - Shopping
I haven't bought any new clothes since I started my BR challenge. So bought complete new outfit. Of course had to refresh myself at Ikea with meatballs

4) Wednesday - town stuff
I went under the Prague giant metronome and seen this guy

He's a freaking legend, so much energy, so much profanity :)

Then we went to a summer cinema to watch Lucy Outdoors, followed by some fun at cross club

I've actually found a book on Sexual Intelligence - Interesting read. Turns out I'm pretty dumb

5) Thursday - date
Awesome thing
Basically there was a sound of bongo drums, and buckets of flour based colors. And me and the lady painted on each other in the rhytm - don't have the pics yet. But we were both drenched in colors :)

Afterwards I went to a pub with voucher for 2kg of chicken wings. And we were only the 2nd couple in history to finish them at that place in one go. CV just got a huge boost ohyeah
6)Friday
I went to a lecture about Vitnam in an outside bar by the River. And went taking pictures in the city, had a beer in a Pilsen Restaurant.
And didn't have any energy left for an Anime party with cosplay so just went home after :)

My photo of the riverside:

and the lecture. Vietnam sounds fun, great food, really cheap, warm climate, I might check it out at some point!
I bought something called waterlemon mate in that place. And realized it had huge caffeine amounts only after I drank it

7) Saturday
I went to a farmers market in the morning for some breakfast and fresh veg
And went for a run (34degrees Celsius out there :O)
And played some pokerinho that day - it was fun again! :O

8) Sunday

First a food festival
So much awesome stuff to eat, and it was super hot too - really fun! It was hard to choose what to buy without exploding tho.

We went to an outside pool with a friend

After which I actually had 4 beers (1st time I drank more than one on a month or so) at ZLute Lazne - this beach place with a party there :)

Again we talked to loads of people, I tried out new Czech words on girls my pal told me as I struggle to express myself properly in the language often
even managed to get a number of an italian girl and a French chick - my 2 pals are coming over so getting ready to bring them the taste of Prague :)

I'm really mad crazy about the girl I'm dating tho, so have no intention of getting involved with other women - but I find talking to random chicks when you just want to talk and ask for advice, discuss male female topics etc. is so much fun as you completely stop being results oriented - guess life works like poker in that way, had a hilarious conversation with 3 milfs, one of them Russian about dating habits, lots of arguments were had that day, I learned stuff too tho.

We actually ended up taking some 2 girls to a club, and on the way there we met a random stranded drunk Mongolian Guy who lives in Ireland and is marrying a Czech girl. Who said he's had bachelors party that day ( to be married in 6 days) in another town, his friends pissed him off somehow tho, his phone got busted so he left them, went to Prague where his bride to be was having her hen party. After convincing him it's a bad idea to contact her we took him with us, and by the end of the night he was thanking us that we saved his life for some reason
So I left him at the club with the 2 chicks, and after getting some cool chocolate milk at a nonstop shop I went home, ending a fun week that hopefully helped me to be able to push it in pokering once again without burnout:)

Week 17 Review
Lady I'm dating was on holidays. So i focused on improving myself. This podcast was a great update on mindset
http://www.menprovement.com/how-to-start-thriving-in-every-area-of-your-life/

Basically it's important to be perfectly satisfied and happy from within, without needing anything from others, and without conditioning your happiness on getting results or anything external.
That way you can go out to the world to give, going after the things you want not those you need.

I went to the gym 7 times + for a run once on top because I felt like it - I'm doing sprints a lot and large compound movements (after I put some time in looking at optimizing testosterone) and I feel so awesome. I still got drunk once - my friend said he wants to go "for one beer", and it turned out it was this event for Mongols only he was organizing, he employed me as a bouncer who's taking entrance fees and was feeding be drinks all night for free the sneaky bugger. It was a fun view of the Mongolian culture though, they are pretty close nit in Prague :)

I actually played 30 hours without having it as a goal or anything.
Main site 27:39 Hrs
Side site 2:23hrs 534 hands -15.09bb/100
14,427 hands 5.5bb/100
bankroll $1700

Monday's coaching was fun as well, there were great numbers and lots of active guys.
And on Saturday the Community Show was with Collin Moshman - and I must say I'm really grateful for having the opportunity. I've never watched his videos before doing research for this, but even if you play cash games definitely check out some of his videos, especially the ones where the guest plays games on requests as there are some great points about poker life in general that players across games can use. The result was arguably one of the best podcasts yet - I'll let you guys be the judges though :)

I've done this last summer for goalkeeper training
And am doing it this summer
Basically I have set number of sprints I do - they are in exercise room with mirrors (where ladies do zumba and shit) I just do sets of 10x10 sprints, 50 or 100 sprints in total depending on how I feel.

It's not just regular sprints but I do e.g. sideways, with lying down flat on belly+standing up in the middle, stuff with rubber ball (I throw it, do a 360degree turn in the middle, pass it from hand to hand etc. ) always ending by last 10 set of freestyle (run real fast, while doing random stuff with a rubber ball, imagining I'm Kobe/handball pro/Spider man. if anyone would see me they'd assume I'm on drugs/retarded) - it ends up being a full body workout and I'm ready for a quick lift afterwards. I just remove treadmill/cardio at the gym with this and the effects are radically better.

Also when I go running (I have a couple hills I go to near my flat) I just run and add random sprints inbetween followed by walking if it's uphill/jog if downhill instead of normal run
