GG Poker is kicking PokerStars ass in traffic for real, twice the number of players in Rush vs Zoom.

GG gives you the option to run it twice on each street and cash out on each street.

Let me make a prediction, PokerStars will cave soon and they will change their entire software to compete against GG Poker soon.

GG Poker - $0.25 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 108.44 BB
SB: 226.36 BB
BB: 219.76 BB
Hero (UTG): 100 BB
MP: 171.4 BB
CO: 126.52 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has Q♣ Q♦

Hero raises to 2.52 BB, fold, fold, fold, SB raises to 11.2 BB, fold, Hero calls 8.68 BB

Flop: (23.4 BB, 2 players) 2♥ 3♠ 7♣
SB bets 12 BB, Hero raises to 24 BB, SB raises to 185 BB, Hero calls 64.8 BB and is all-in

Turn: (201 BB, 2 players) T♥

River: (201 BB, 2 players) 4♦

SB shows J♥ J♦ (One Pair, Jacks)
(Pre 18%, Flop 8%, Turn 5%)
Hero shows Q♣ Q♦ (One Pair, Queens)
(Pre 82%, Flop 92%, Turn 95%)
Hero wins 196.52 BB

For instance, In 25NL Zoom game 82 players at PS vs 252 players at GG. Often times it is more than double the traffic.

I'm very new to GG Poker and I have only played around 100 hands so far but something interesting just happened. I was playing 10NL Rush just trying to become familiar with their fancy GUI which is very different from PS.

GG Poker - $0.10 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 141.4 BB
SB: 112 BB
Hero (BB): 101.5 BB
UTG: 129.4 BB
MP: 221.7 BB
CO: 139 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q♣ Q♦

fold, fold, CO raises to 2 BB, fold, fold, Hero raises to 12.4 BB, CO raises to 32.2 BB, Hero raises to 101.5 BB and is all-in, CO calls 69.3 BB

Flop: (203.5 BB, 2 players) A♣ A♥ T♠

Turn: (203.5 BB, 2 players) A♦

River: (203.5 BB, 2 players) T♣

Players agreed to run it twice.

Flop #2: (203.5 BB, 2 players) 9♦ 2♥ 7♠

Turn #2: (203.5 BB, 2 players) T♥

River #2: (203.5 BB, 2 players) 2♣

Players agreed to run it three times.

Flop #3: (203.5 BB, 2 players) 8♠ 7♦ Q♥

Turn #3: (203.5 BB, 2 players) Q♠

River #3: (203.5 BB, 2 players) 9♥

Hero shows Q♣ Q♦ (Full House, Aces full of Queens)

CO shows K♥ K♦ (Full House, Aces full of Kings)

Hero wins 66.5 BB
CO wins 66.4 BB
CO wins 66.4 BB

So the player above was gracious enough to run three boards for me, and after the hand I won some kind of jackpot.

I only put $100 in the account and I know I was up $25 so the balance should be $125, and I just lost a pot above yet the balance read $844. Is this a scam? How does GG Poker know that I'm a fish?

Edit: I just quit my table and it added $10.

Thanks. Yes, whatever that means.

If losing $3.5 in a pot allows me to win it then that’s a bargain.:f_drink:

Edit: I made correction after checking the aforementioned hand in the PT4.

PokerStars has superior software in terms of stability — at least for me.
Also, if PokerStars ever brings in that totally vile river slow-roll I'll stop playing there as well.

I may be in the minority on that — I heard a streamer a few days ago raving about how much they loved that "feature"

What does that feature do?

If the hand goes to the river, the river card is not dealt immediately, rather it is turned over very slowly.
It takes perhaps 10 seconds, but it seems like forever if a bit pot rides on the outcome.
It is pointless and slows down the game far too much ( In my opinion)

WOW, this sounds like the worst poker invention since coming up with a four color deck for live poker. just reading this makes me go on monkey tilt.

I don't like that feature either(it's too slow), and the slow motioned river card is not from the four color deck even if you play it. But there are more, reaction Emoji can be selected vs a raise or CR in order to fish for information, there is a game dynamic of accepting and rejecting the run it twice or thrice on turn and river respectively, you can rabbit chase everything, you can buy insurance on turn and river respectively. I'm still new there so I'm figuring out stuff as I go.

It's like poker on crack cocaine.

I love the 4-colour deck actually.
It is especially useful when multi-tabling

I didn't know that the river card was in the 2-colour scheme

I think I'm gonna go with GG Poker regs' "please give me chance" dynamics because I read that if you don't oblige they won't do it when you actually DO wanna run it twice or thrice.

Sometimes, I wish I owned a solver, vs an unknown shorty, I feel like this is a mediocre play.

Well, there's always free Equilab
Pre-Flop:
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    40.90%  40.71%   0.19% { 88 }
SB     59.10%  58.91%   0.19% { TT+, AJs+, AJo+ }

OTF:
Board: 3♥T♣4♠
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    48.84%  48.84%   0.00% { 88 }
SB     51.16%  51.16%   0.00% { TT+, AJs+, AJo+ }

Short stacks are rarely signs of skill,

I can't speak for you, but the short-stack's range is heavily weighted to Ax hands, so I would:

Let's goof up the range a bit to reflect that:
With the current flop, you're way ahead, but put an Ace in there...

Board: 3♥T♣A♠
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2     8.11%   8.11%   0.00% { 88 }
SB     91.89%  91.89%   0.00% { TT+, A2s+, A2o+ }

I'll take the lucky flop and the $20 and call it a night.

Surprise, surprise, fish doesn't have AA for a change. :f_p:

What do you think of villains over bet here with KTs ?. It looks pretty awful to me on that board it removes any bluffs/semi bluffs you might have. And allows you to play perfectly and fold your AQ AJ KQ hands. Your only ever getting it in with better hands here and the two draws you do get it in with AsQs AsJs have an equity advantage 56% - 44% vs villains hand.

You know that he is a fish right? Who knows what sparks in his brain? But I honestly thought he had AA here because often times limp-reraise indicates that fish has AA.

His overbetting on flop is interesting, yeah. I think fish sees fish bets, is what he probably did here. Now, is it a good play vs a range that isolates and overcalls a 3bet? Probably not, he should just bet normal like 1/3 pot or 1/2 pot. Although him being oop on a very coordinated board, there is an argument for a bigger bet like 3/4 pot.

When he overbets the pot on flop, I can play my hand almost perfectly if the fish isn't bluffing, so in this case, it is a terrible(unlucky?) play because he commits himself to call a shove on flop vs range that has likely more equity than him, as you say.

But what if he had AA like he was supposed to have? Then I think overbet is probably acceptable though not optimal.

I wasn't aware of villain player type i was just wondering what you thought about the the choice of hand to over bet by villain.

With KTs? Not a good hand to overbet with given situation.

These prompts to cash out on each street is like temptations from devil, and the slow peel of the river card is frustrating because I didn't know how to peel it.
