Bluff of the day

Hopefully this thread gathers a lot of bluffs. Please feel free to post. :f_biggrin:

To start, here's a common semi-bluff turned into pure bluff scenario. Surely not the best to start this thread but this is the only interesting one I could come up today.

I opened only once in about 2 orbits in this table so I decided to play this marginal hand in MP2. I decided to shove river since my perceived range is very strong and obviously there is no way for me to win the pot unless I pull the trigger. Best hand I could put villain here is JT as he would likely give up weak K or Q on the turn. Also, any draw range may only have about 8 outs or less otherwise he would have played aggressively.

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Hi,

This fish here is trying to figure out this hand you played pleno1.

Is it alright to ask about what you think his range is on the turn when he called your 3bet?

One of my first ever 4bet bluff and I'm proud of it. LOL.

My thoughts? Hmm.. during this session I haven't really been raising him blind v blind. Don't know why I felt like doing a steal with such a hand at this spot. (Was kind of thinking maybe he will respect my raise and fold since i steal so rarely). Then he 3bet me, then my thoughts are, maybe if I 4bet him he will really think I have a big big hand since I steal so rarely from the sb, and furthermore he seems like a reg so blind v blind he has a loose 3bet range compared to at other positions. Of course I will probably not try it with 46o in the future :P

Villain is 3betting for fun this session, got abit fed up and called (should have 4bet bluff or fold imo)

Flop I raise to rep A because of his wide 3betrange. When he called I was going to give up turn (unless theres a heart)

When he checked behind turn I'm clueless what he had. With an A or set shouldn't he bet to protect vs FDs? Maybe he has an weak A and is opting for pot control, or some mid PP.

River was a bluff to rep flush, so thankful he folded (esp after my failed flop attempt)

vilain is a laggish more or less decent reg 25/19/6.5
hand is really hard to explain without game dynamics, and I have few reads on this guy too. but anyway, my A high was probably good I think so I dont know if this qualifies as a bluff he prob had sthing like KQ, AQ, AJ, maybe few pps he decided to turn into bluffs, but that's unlikely.

Reason for bluff:

He can't have a strong hand that would take that line on the flop most of the time. In fact I could only think of Q♣T♣ and nothing else (at least based on this guys image and play history). I figure I could make him fold his weak pairs and Ax hands.

Easy money _thumbsup:

The river is such a scary card and he looks like he has a medium strength hand (checking the river after I check turn) I knew he was going to fold :P

And of course, inspired by pleno1.

I will never try these at where I usually play(NL20) unless I have sick reads. Hahaha. Stars micro zoom is really a nitfest I think playing a LAG style WILL be profitable (If you know how to)

Reason for bluff: PF I know BU's raising very wide (he's a reg) and the sb fish calls a super wide range. Squeezing with any 2 here is profitable lol.

Flop he's super exploitable he's folding air and shoving top pair. Maybe a 10c bet would have worked

Easy 10 bbs. And inspired by pleno1. Squeezing is sooo profitable I don't know why so few people do it (but of course I don't want people to start doing it lol)
