did I play this hand correctly? villian plays:23/18 looks like a regular. thought he could have an overpair like 99, TT, JJ.

Yeah that sucks.

If he's a reg I don't think he's EVER raising here with an overpair, this is either

1 combo 88
3 combos 33
3 combos 77
1 combo 87s
2 combos 89s
2 combos A8s

maybe if he's a good and a little looser he can have a few more 8x combos from the bb

I think the strongest hand I'd have as hero her would be AA

Given pot odds, your capped range and his wide value range, I don't think you have to worry about calling with anything less than AA. And you can probably fold that too, unless you think this guy i spastic. For him to have some bluffs, he'd have to be floating the flop OOP with something crazy.

I don't think villain having a raising range on this turn makes sense.

yeah i think you are right so i should have folded my hand on the turn. So would you go for three streets of value if he would not raise?

As played what can you value bet on the river? I can only see 99 and TT, which may very likely fold anyway.

I think the flop bet size should be different too. Betting something like .3 of pot would be more appropriate on such a dry board.

Hey Lunatic1900,

Preflop 3b for value is fine vs min-raise.

I agree with jules97 here. Firstly small flop bet works well on dry texture especially in multi-way situations where we should reduce our sizing further.

Turn should be a bet/fold, we are not going to be good frequently enough to continue.

Hi,

Since you´re so deep I would likely also b/f turn, although if player is tricky you can always just check back turn and call any river card.
Against passive players you can bet 3 streets and expect them to call down with 99-JJ, but since it is 3-bet 3-way pot I think betting turn looks also very strong and they might easily fold their pp-s

best regards,
