Hi folks,
ran into this situation yesterday

PokerStars - $0.02 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG: 40 BB
Hero (MP): 129.5 BB
CO: 140.5 BB (VPIP: 21.25, PFR: 12.50, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 82)
BTN: 101.5 BB (VPIP: 20.13, PFR: 10.07, 3Bet Preflop: 6.56, Hands: 154)
SB: 214.5 BB (VPIP: 11.16, PFR: 7.14, 3Bet Preflop: 2.74, Hands: 232)
BB: 121.5 BB (VPIP: 23.18, PFR: 22.32, 3Bet Preflop: 7.79, Hands: 239)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB, UTG posts penalty blind 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.5 BB) Hero has 6♥ 6♦

UTG raises to 2 BB, Hero calls 2 BB, fold, BTN calls 2 BB, SB raises to 12 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold

SB wins 9 BB

As you can see, the 3-bettor had 200BB in his stack and I had to call 10BBs, which would have been profitable according to the Call20 rule. The opponent was 11/7 multitable Nit ( +10 tables) and I am sure he had QQ+, so I considered that he would probably push his stack on some point if its a dry board, but still, I folded and thought I'll just keep safe and post the hand here to ask for your opinion. Thank you.

Hello,

I think we can fold here, definitely fold if we would only 100bb deep. We hit a set like 1 from 8,5 times. So if we win his stack everytime we hit our set it would be OK to call but this just won´t happend even against such a nit. Let say his range is KK+, but sometimes:

- he hit better set
- he don´t stack off KK on Ahigh
- he don´t stack off on some very ugly boards

In general we don´t need call20 rule in 3bet pot. I think vs 3bet call15 is recomended by some good players. But you have to think about other things:

- how wide is opponent range
- are we IP or OOP
- Is it good reg or poor player

if he has a 215 BB stack and you have a 130 BB stack you cant win 215 BB can you

Your effective stack is 129,5bb. I would call, no brainer. Micro players are kind of tathered to QQ+

too unlikely that you win a big pot so fold.

I would venture to claim that quite the opposite is true.

We will be in position postflop and we are 130 BB deep - we call here.

Lets say opponent has ak and qq+

You hit 12% but after accounting for the times when your opponent misses or has kk and flop is A63 etc, you really only win about 6.7% of the time not 12%. That's assuming its all in postflop every time bar the exceptions I said.

.067*$1.30 = $0.09 and you have to call $0.10 to see a flop. Imo you're just burning money.

Math is the same but the result isn't. :)
Now it looks you have to pay 5BB to win 9BB.
Sounds like a +EV move.

Yeah, my bad.
Did you include the dead money in the pot?

no i didn't add 5bbs to 130bbs. makes little difference. my point is still clear. it is very difficult to win money in this spot.

Yeah my mistake, I was using the Call20 rule incorrectly. I knew how it works, just got a bad habit cause usually I just look if the opponent has at least 100 BBs and my stack is always 100 BB high so :) Sorry for the retardiness.

one pro's to call is villian is a nit so our implied odds really increase - hes basically got KK or AA here
