3bet OOP with AJs preflop?

I 3bet AJs preflop in SB, and 3bet all suited aces here in SB vs CO and BTN

Flop is interesting. You have backdoor str draw and overcards. Would like to hear what others do, because I really am not sure about those spots.

Plus we have AJ which looks like we do not make many better hands to fold, besides 22-44.

But sometimes its good enough even when we make fold worse hands as imediate profit and they are not able to bet, becasue with AJ its not fun to call.

Also want to ask -with AQ, AK x/c should be ok and reevaluete? To keep worse hands which we dominate in range, plus get value from bluffs and we have decent equity.

With no information about villain, I probably would have done the same line. You are drawing but you want the drawing to be cheap on such a wet board. Fact that villain calls your reraise, you should give him some credit for that and narrow his range automatically IMO.

AJs kinda falls into the group of hands you don't really want to bluff, but is to weak to 3b for value, so I will usually just flat.

I'm probably betting here a little less than 50% of the time, sometimes I x flop and bet turn and barrel certain rivers. Would be happier to bet flop if it was 869dss where we have more cards to barrel on the turn.

I also like to flat AJs and 3bet AJo.

Facing a raise preflop when you are in the blinds with a suited ace seems like a common situation. It happened to me several times in my last session, so I need to figure out a good general line to take.

What range of suited aces should I be 3betting with? And how do I decide whether I should cbet the flop? I really don't like being OOP on the flop!

I would 3bet AKs and AQs as value and call the rest AXs hands. Maybe fold A6s-A9s. If you feel like villain folds too much to 3bets we can start 3betting wider. AXo hands are better to 3bet since they don't have as much equity. This range is not optimal and someone might have better input on this matter. I just very quickly tried to think how I would play these hands. What comes to the flop cbetting, it is a bit harder to explain here. I suggest you get a status and start watching videos and reading articles here.

I like your 3bet and I would play the hands prob the same way.
I have two reasons to 3bet pre AJs here:
1) AJs is too weak to call OOP (imo)
2) when I flat, BB has almost always odds to join the pot. AJ plays real bad multiway.
There is also the addition risk BB will squeeze, and we can't call a squeeze

There are 2 schools of defence:
1) Saying that we should defend our SB vs stesl only by 3 betting.
2) Saying we should defend both by calling and 3 betting.
You should decide which is more close to your personal style.

If you like the second school, you can 3 bet AKs and AQs.

AJs is pretty close to the strongest hand we can argue calling.

Flat pre.

AJ is fine to flat OR 3bet pre.

I prefer 3betting in the SB and flatting in the BB personally.

I prefer flatting myself.
