Raise that turn please. Deny equity to his wide range and value a lot.

Oh floxy babyyy, why are we agreeing so much now? Is it the beer :f_drink:

Definitely raise turn. You hit a strong hand and villain keeps on betting very small.

I understand that turn is a must raise but as starting hand I prefered to fold that combo, just if they were suited I was going to play passively .
To induce folding to villain hero would have to re-raise at least flop, and turn

Villain opens just 2.5bb, when they open smaller than 3bb we can defend wider. I wold call even J7o here.

I also defend wider when SB is la55i because he sucks OOP.
Well, not that he shines that much IP either... it depends if the board is fried or not.

I don't like to defend this hand because :

1) it's too big stake
2) really because opponent raised too weak, if he was to steal he was for 2x, 3x . 2.5x it's strengh hand
2x you fold because you are in blank
3x you fold because you have not enough strengh hand
2.5 it's a trick raise

But the smaller people steal the more you have to defend hands you don't like to. And it's alright. It's always better than giving your blind away to easily.

are you looking for excuses to fold? i am usually looking for excuses to not fold in this spot.

that said, we can expand on the concept to look for similar mental leaks - look for spots where we just look for excuses to overfold/overcall without a good reason (such as population analysis or player reads)

I am reading not studyind Headup Manual, if I have to do something I will re-raise preflop (3th bet ) to 12 BB anche check his reaction!!! don't just call if I suppose he's trying to steal

My god no you have to call a lot against SB open there is no easy way around it you can't just 3bet any hand you don't feel like playing. If you think it's hard to play J8o in a SRP against a wide range how do you think it would be easier in a 3bet pot against a way tighter range ? That type of hand just isn't made for it.

I suppose in complete bluff 3bet, that's what I learned from the book , if I put in count it is a steal , he re-raise 4th bet , I fold,

With a King on flop hero can continue bet, bet, and just in this line can win the pot! QQ is so difficult to fold without any sign of strengh before!!!

I prefer calling only with suited card not with unsuited. The raise in my opinion it's too tricky, too big stake...

I don't like at all J8o

I could write a wall of text about this topic, explaining how things work and how we lose -100bb/100hands every time we fold vs the guys minraise and how good pot odds we are offered here. I could also explain that if you are reading some books you should make sure they are up to date and are meant specifically for these situations.

I don't want to write a wall of text so I will just say that Blitz76 unfortunately this time you are wrong.

Oh and also:

2x you fold because you are in blank
3x you fold because you have not enough strengh hand
2.5 it's a trick raise

This I don't just get.. Okay vs 3x raise we can fold because we don't have to defend that wide. J9o I would still consider a call.
2.5x raise starts to be quite popular among regs and there is nothing tricky about it.
2x raise I would call even J2o...

What a weird book you must be reading lol, but anyway having an autoprofit 3bet against an opener is just a special case that doesn't save you from calling J8o versus most of the field.
And even against someone that open/fold so much you're probably better of calling J8o and turning into 3bet bluffs all the real garbages that you would fold otherwise like 72o (and like this you realise how ridiculous the situation is as it's rare that you can feel comfortable raising such junks).
Needless to say someone you have a profitable 3bet with J8o you should also have a profitable call with J8o. 3betting because you don't feel like calling is really not the good attitude, you will never learn how to play postflop that way and I'm sorry but people aren't that much exploitable pre anymore.

you simply can not 3bet everything...
You're not even going to be calling just to get it right. you have to know how to play the post flop ... you can not just call to match pairs and sets ...
He'll go wrong as much as you.

J8 vs any better J- JK-QJ- JT - J9- better 8 A8-Q8-K8 KT K9 Ks

I can't have neither a good drwa str8 or flush

As you see I dont play a lot cash , I neither wanted to discuss on other hand because I am not confidente with this

The point it's not a standard steal, if I feel stealing 3 or 4 times ok I will defend with J8 , if opponent has some sense of stealing I fold anytime, it depends how many times he try to attack my blind

But it's not even a cash thing lol in tournaments you also have to adapt your calling range to the sizing and you can't 3bet semi-garbage just because you don't feel like playing postflop. If you keep that spirit you won't go far in tournaments either.

In Expert Head up hold'em there is a chap where talking about the 3bet and 4 bet bluff ... preflop , and use this tecnique to consider the option, I prefer to lose 12cc than call

My point how consider this stealing ? stealing with hand value or in bluff ? like 89o etc... So if I consider the range of stealing strong I don't want to play ( opponent frequency stealing sb )

In tournament it depends on your stake in relation of other player, so the range is based above all on this, when you are deep you have much spot, and for the size probably at higher buy in , like >10$ they have much more weapon

Now Im just reading so, I play nl2 and 5nl only for fun and few profitt bankroll

For tournament since Iam "studying" too tired to play
