PokerStars - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 47.4 BB
BB: 228 BB
Hero (UTG): 101.4 BB
MP: 100 BB
CO: 109.8 BB
BTN: 103.2 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has A♥ J♠

Hero raises to 4 BB, fold, CO calls 4 BB, BTN calls 4 BB, fold, BB calls 3 BB

Flop: (16.4 BB, 4 players) K♦ K♣ A♣
BB checks, Hero bets 8 BB, CO calls 8 BB, fold, fold

Turn: (32.4 BB, 2 players) J♣
Hero checks, CO checks

River: (32.4 BB, 2 players) Q♠
Hero bets 7 BB

Opponent is 28/17 VPIP PFR after 19 hands, so like a weak thinking reg mostly I think... after he flats pre I put him in the weaker category.

So I bet flop half pot into 3 players to see what they have, and on turn I check suspecting Kx or flushdraw. He checks back so I think it is Ax right. So on river I would hate to get bluffed so it is kind of a blocker bet but also Ax must fold now... so I might win with this. What do you think? Sometimes I feel I just don't know how to play NLHE but still I try to avoid big mistakes...

Turn and river are really bad cards for you and I would just check it down to get a cheap showdown. You kicker isn't playing and you lose against any K and T.

When you raise to 4BB preflop- normally you wont get to many random card calls. it ranges more to the higher card range; broadways, A10suited, kk, 9's-7's you take out all the random garbage people play like k4 suited, 79 suited etc. all these hands you crush and want to see in the hand.

My suggest is start raising only to 2.5xbb and start working on your post flop game, i know it gets nervy at times, but the the more experience you get post flop the better off you will be. as for river check down and take your equity if you thin value bet here villain is only calling with K, T, or A, dependent on your sizing, he is calling with nothing you beat.:f_drink:

well you can see how they are all calling the 4BB raise, so it is for value of course.

he folded and I think he could fold Ax. probably 77 or something, no clue. but yes on the river I felt I have no idea what I am doing, just thought I don't want to face a big bet from him
