Villain was a fish. I thought about folding to the 4-bet but I needed to call 6 more cents and I actually thought I could be ahead some of villains range, I thought he could definitely do this with all weaker suited aces as the guy was really loose. I thought maybe I could just fold instead of 3-bet but I wanted to play a pot IP against fish with a hand I thought would be ahead of his range a good amount of the time .

Against mid-stack players -- who may be playing mid-stack strategy deliberately, you need to be aware of implied odds -- and if you hit, they don't have enough behind to bother with.

If you play against a known mid-stacker it might help to read the mid-stack strategy articles.
If it is just some bonehead who lost half his stack earlier, that's different.

Even if he had 100BB, I'm not sure I would 3Bet a UTG raise.
Curious to hear what others think though...

against him I would prefer to just call pre, unless he is raising really loose and willing to stack off like any hand. then of course 3bet/jam. Against tighter guys this of course is a fold pre, like against an UTG person playing 30/20 lagtag you can fold it, no problem. as played i think it is ok just to call and see what happens on the flop. and i would also fold this flop, he has shown a lot of strength and we are just beat always here i think vs strong range.

yes yes you cannot fold to this 4bet, you are getting 5 to 1, having to call 6 cents to see a 30cent pot on the flop.
