Analysis of this live hand in a casino in Goa, India

I don't think it would be bad to just call in position with JTs against a TAG.
JTs has decent playability post-flop and I don't think you need to change this hand in to a bluff pre-flop.
I'm also interested in you're own though process during the hand. Especially without a flush blocker it's really tricky I think to go for a 3 barrel bluff.

Preflop, my estimation of his range was 55-JJ, some suited connectors (76s-QJs) & some broadways (AKo, AQo, AJs, AJo). As the hand progressed, I was putting him on an ace with a good kicker or a two pair. Small chance he may hit the flush on the river, but he probably led the betting on the river if he had. My idea was to potray a high set (AA / QQ), a flush or at least a two pair.

Don't have much holdem cash experience so take following with grain of salt so to say.

Is 7.5bb open raise standard for villain? I know in live open raises might be bit absurd but still.

Anyway as we play so deep I suppose we want to still play strong hand like this and we can go either way pre. Preflop sizing is perhaps bit on big side in position. Of course deep stacked we should go for bigger 3bets in general but as villain open raises so huge this 500bb spot actually plays more like 150bb deep online with small open.

Postflop seems ok to me. Though I think we may prefer smaller flop size and then polarize more on turn as flop is one we want to cbet wide afaik. So we could go like 1/3 on flop and then use some overbets on turn when deciding to barrel.

Combo wise this hand is likely ok. It's bit better to have diamonds over clubs as villain is supposed to continue bit wider with bdfd combos. Of course for river it would be better to have spade blocker but issue is our 3bet range doesn't have that many offsuit combos. Some KJo, KTo are probably there. So to me overall this hand seems ok but as said not very familiar area for me.

Hello, thanks for the reply. I tend to almost always 3-bet JTs preflop, the idea is to go into the flop with a range advantage.

I was hoping for a fold on the flop / turn. By the time we got to the river, I could either give up or go all in. I figured I had portrayed enough strength to signify at least a two pair, if not better by the river. The way the hand was played, I could have had AA, QQ, 99, AQ or a number of suited connectors which hit the flush on the river.

Thanks for the reply. 6-8bb open was standard on this table, that's the way cash games work in casinos in India. I prefer a much smaller 2.5-3.5x sizing myself, but somehow doesn't work on the local cash tables.
