Any suggestions for sites to play for free?
Hi ponciano,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com ![]()
Well, the absolute best site for freerolls is 888
Each day there are several regularly scheduled freerolls, and periodically there are several sponsored freerolls that are password-protected. You get the passwords by watching various youtube channels or twitch streams.
In addition, there are several challenges that you can do the give tickets as prizes.
The one hindrance is that almost all of these require that you have deposited at least once.
If you don't have an account on 888, sign up through this link — https://www.pokerstrategy.com/888poker/ and there may be additional benefits.
Next there is GGPoker, where every day there is a free ticket to a Spin&Gold or a Battle Royale tournament.
Is it worth it?
This is my May 2024 results from 888.

I have moved the question to the questions and answers board, because I don't think this will be a blog.
Cheers,
SDK1987
KKPoker
They usually do one freeroll at the start of of their live event Qualifiers
And run bunch of $2k freeroll series in the meantime. We've even had a bunch of PokerStartegy organized freerolls just for our club there - they are always the best value of course.
One note is that most are very +EV to rebuy in for $0.25 and then add-on, big advantage if you do, but not mandatory of course

Oh damn - actually I wonder if some sicko would do a challenge from $0 if he freeroll hunted in 2024 - work would be insane but seems more possible than ever if you have access to these sites

Well I'm no sicko (although I pretend sometimes)
This is my graph from Jul 2022 until now — on 888 only

I play other games as well.
Here is the breakdown from Jul 2022 onward. I pick that date since I withdrew my roll in June of that year.
I also have deposited several times to take advantage of bonuses and giveaways.
Here is the breakdown by game type:
Category Won Count
F/R 299.81 487 [1]
Misc 12.15 25
NLHE 66.33 90
PLO -42.95 1
PLO8 -58.60 242
TRN 17.62 40
HotD 1.00 2
Adj -0.05 1
cashback 2.37 8
Casino 45.65 34
Dr/Cr 260.00 5
Grand Total 603.33 935
Conclusion:
it is *definitely* doable
[1] The numbers in the "Count" column only show where I won. Let's say 700 days and two freerolls a day means I cash in about 1/3 of the ones I enter.
If anyone is interested, I'll load the lot into a tracker to see what the real results are.

GG Vorpal, nice results!
Can you explain how the amount won can be negative though?
On GG Poker there was a Micro Festival going on in the last few weeks (it ended last Sunday).
There were daily mtt's in different catagories: NL Holdem / NL Holdem KO / PLO.
Playing any of these mtt's and finishing out of the money would get you a ticket to a $5k freeroll in that game catagory the next day. (getting a ticket for every re-entry)
So there were multiple freerolls every next day, where you could get multiple tickets for.
I played just a few of these mtt's, cashed some of them, and also cashed in o few of the freerolls, with about $300 in total (including a 4th place out of 5k field), the freerolls were very soft to play.
Hope they do these kind of promotions more often, I really like the freeroll ticket idea as a form of consolation prize.
888Poker is a good place to start.
Every three hours there is (The $125 Freeroll) no first deposit required. There are also at least two (Daily Freeroll) satellite tournaments where you can get direct access to the regular tournament 1.5k and 5k also no first deposit required.
I've actually played several freerolls on 789bet, and they've been pretty enjoyable. They often run promotions including freeroll tournaments, which are perfect if you're looking to practice without spending money.
I've had the best luck with freerolls on PokerStars and 888poker. They run a lot of them, and some have pretty solid prize pools. I’ve found that the bigger the tournament, the better the prizes, so try to join the ones with the highest number of players. It’s a great way to build a bankroll without risking any cash.

Pokerstars has freerolls?
I haven't looked in so long I have been missing out
Freerolls? Yea is difficult to find the right balance between play money and 5-dollar cashgames... Depends on the ambition I guess. I think no shame depositing $30 and losing it slowly trying to learn from strategy videos..

Part of the problem is that neither of those two sites are affiliated with PokerStrategy.com, and as such they aren't recommended.
PokerStrategy.com does a fair bit to ensure that affiliated rooms are fair and trustworthy, and while I've been a moderator, I've seen a few rooms de-listed.
As always, play on sites that you trust.

Hi BEYKING1,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com ![]()
Do you play them often?
Do they pay cash, or are they merely satellites?
Cheers,
