Ok, first day of the week 4 is done.

10 out of 12 possible tasks, which is VERY good.

Volume task is also done, which is EVEN BETTER, considering I've just raised the amount of hands per day from 1.000 to 1.500.

But yeah ... All in all ... Still seems that my MAIN GOAL is just to GO BROKE ;) In the first session of 700 hands I was up almost 4BI@nl25, and when I came back for another one ... USUAL STUFF happened ;) Suckouts on the river one after the other, with me being that sucker constantly paying all these fishes off. So in the end in total for today ended up -0.5BI@nl25 down. I'm not even surprised anymore.

Anybody wants to have a pool WHEN am I going to be BROKE ? ;) Cause I'm really not gonna stop till I'm finally successful or just completely broke.

Goodnight

How do u know when u have hit your stop/loss ? Are u constantly checking your session results ?

btw, how many BI's have u set yourself for stop/loss ?

Stop-loss is set to 3BI. And no - I do not check my results during the session, except for these cases when hitting stop/loss becomes very possible. But it is all based on "feel", because you almost always have a pretty good "feel" where are you at - whether you're winning some, or losing a LOT. So if I lose MORE than a few BI's in a row, then I'd check my results to see whether stop/loss is already hit, or I can continue playing. And if I actually am like 2BI's down, then again - it is very easy to "spot" when you lose another buy-in no need to always check the results for that ;) and I actually do think that you shoudn't check your results during the session :) So if I see ["feel"] that I'm definitely NOT down 3BI's to my stop/loss, then I'm not checking my results at all, right till the end of the day. :)

hey, keep up the good work, you attitude towards learning seems good, just started reading your blog, seems like a good inspiration. I might need to steal your task table thing, beating last week's high score seems fun.

Unfortunately right now everything that really IS, is just that ATTITUDE ... Nothing more ... ;) But trying to improve myself here. Thanks for visiting though ! :) And yeah sure, "steal" as much as you want ;) ;)

Ok, guys, a little update :)

Week 4 overview is due tomorrow. I can already say that the results are not that perfect, not gonna be able to beat previous week's score, but will get into more detail tomorrow.

Now as for the most important part here of this update - decided to find a way so somehow "squeeze" myself into that 8th Anniversary of Sunday Million with an 8 MILLION guaranteed prize pool Yep, it's gonna be a nice "lottery" cause of the huge field, but still - more than plenty of fish, and if successful - ROI is just HUGE. So having said that, I decided to "step my foot" onto satellites :) Already made my schedule of 23 satellites [might come up a few more along the way]. And they are not just randomly picked, but it is these that I'd like the most, for various reasons. So the estimated amount [with possible re-buys] is now max at ~$120. That is 5BI. In one week. Definitely it is not much in absolute terms, but ... Given the fact how have I been "running" [more like - sucking] at zoom so far, FOR ME it actually IS a LOT, these 5BI ... BUT ! I think given the risk/reward ratio, I'm okay with putting this amount on the line eventually. That is, of course if I will not be able to win a ticket or any $$ in the end. If I manage, however, to scoop that ticket, or any $$, then it is a whole other deal, and I'm gonna be super happy about that anyway :) But still preparing my self psychologically right now to "say goodbye" to this amount. This is I'm prepared to risk. End of story :)

Sooooo ! Satellites are starting from today, but the whole "FUN" is starting from tomorrow, because ! I'm prepared to be getting-up 5.20 AM [IN THE MORNING ] for the whole week - Monday through Friday And then NOT fall back to sleep later ! So this is gonna be quite a challenge for me in the first place

So the idea is to get up 5.20, start my satellite, along side with 2-tabling zoom, and few more regular turbo tourneys [maybe I'll be THAT lucky and just scoop these $215 for the entry ]. And yeah - play play play :) Then everything will go as usual, regarding my "day schedule" and "tasks", right till the evening, when I'll start another satellite, along 3-tabling zoom. And gonna keep playing until I reach my zoom volume for the day, or of course - till I scoop that entry ticket If I bust without a ticket, and zoom volume is already done for the day - then it will finally be a "bed time" ;) ~5 hours of sleep, and then the whole story continues again when the alarm goes off at 05.20AM :P Prepared to do this for ONE following week. Gonna be hard FOR ME, but I hope I can succeed :)

So wish me luck !

[ And here is a song, that been driving me crazy for the whole week already. This is not "my kind" of music that I usually listen to, but THIS song, is just ... Both the song, AND ! the un-official music video for it. Enjoy ! ]

WEEK 4 Review

Task Table

As you can see, had another complete "mental break-down" on Wednesday, which was absolutely the only reason why I failed to beat previous week's score. But even being "1 day short" I still managed to reach some nice scores, and fall behind the previous week for just 3 points. So I guess it's kinda good.

BUT ! I still far far FAR away from being "proud" of myself, or whatever the words is, because ... Just before starting to write this review, one thing made me think ... I mean - REALLY think ...

That .... ---> Maybe [most probably ...] I am doing something wrong. <---

And the reason being .... This:

* I made it quite like a "story", using Patrick's public blogging for the past few months on 2+2 forums as well as here at PS.com.
** Some of the quotations are edited, just so I can leave the most important parts for me what I wanted to emphasize. Hope Patrick doesn't mind.

3)Currently I'm studying poker for a 4 hours a day, so maybee you have advices how could I get max Value from these 4 hours. :)

1) don't overstudy. Find coaches you enjoy listen to and watch his videos. Play play play and learn from playing and finding spots you don't know what to do and then fix it, so you know what to do. You could spend 8 hours watching 8 videos and not fix anything. As soon as a hand finishes that you were stick with, save it and post it somewhere.
2) experience. Playing. Losing. Self reflecting. Ambition. Degeneracy. All very important IMO :)
3) wow way too much. Take those 4 hours of studying and devote 3 of them to playing

1pm- grind
2pm- grind
3pm- lunch
5pm- gym
6pm- gym
7pm- study
8pm- dinner
9pm- dinner
10pm- x
11pm- grind
12am- grind
1am- grind
2am - grind
3am -grind
4am - 12pm - sleep
Just looking forward to 2014 now hopefully going to be a huge year.

I have a pretty big mental leak now, I used to always look at my cashier, but now thats gone but now I always try to predict how Ive done and add up between the tables how Im doing and where Im at, if I know I am 3bis ahead then lose 1.5bis Im scared Im going to have a losing session, its kinda bad but so far this month Ive grinded really ok.

One thing I am now setting high standards with right now is my sleeping. I slept 11am-6pm yesterday which is quite ridiculous.

Very good day today. Firstly woke up at 9am which was pleasing. Unfortunately later I went for a 1 hour nap and slept for 5 hours, but at least some progress in that department. Grinded a good amount of VPPs and had v good profit day too so overall very happy.

Tomorrow have to be up at 11am for the cleaner which is good as when people depend on me I make sure I dont let them down, I only sleep in if I am letting myself down haha.

Woke up very early, did a lot of tilting errands. Came back at 4pm, slept till 2am, woke up and grinded. Annoying schedule haha.

Played short sessions today. Kinda ran bad around 4k under ev or something but I still won a few buy ins.

Today was pretty swingy! After around 1 hour I was around 6k down and feeling like I had commited some crime in a previous life with the waz the deck was falling. Anyway, regrouped and got an OK profit after a 3-4 hour session.

played good and ran very well. Pretty funny at 1knl I make a really sick river bluff and villain folds probably top set or something when getting good price on the river. Ended up one of biggest winning days of the year and continues the pretty silly heater I am on right now, whilst still running under ev. Hoping to continue putting good volume in throughout the rest of the month, but Im quitting sessions earlier when feeling like dropping below B or C game.

Anyone asking me for advice at smaller stakes would be "don't just be who everybody else wants you to be, don't be a 21-18 that people want you to be, find your own style, be prepared to make mistakes as long as you're prepared to work and learn from them.

What a day of grinding, Mondays are usually not spectacular and infact action is so slow some regs always take Mondays off. However I decided to grind after sleeping in late. After 5k hands I was down more than any other point this year, but grinded, grinded, grinded and 11k hands total for the day which is maximum Ive done and we ended up with a profit and can pat outselves on the back. Basically just grinded for 8 hours without any breaks and felt tilted at times, felt happy at times but mostly stayed in the zone and grinded very hard.

Your blog has taken a real inspirational turn over the past few weeks bro. It also seems like you have burst into a new level of skill/understanding. Can you pin point anything in particular that has helped?

I strongly think that learning comes from experience and thus playing, from playing zoom it allows me to play a lot of volume and thus I am continuously learning which is really important. I think I learn something new in poker every day, not always because something happens, but because I want it to happen. I try different lines, I watch others and become curious about their lines, I speak to friends every day about poker and am surrounded by poker players.

Terrible day reslts wise, probably the worst day of the year in results which is sad. Just ran into ridiculous hands all day.

Will grind alot over the weekend. Good VPP progress anyway.

I dont want to post mid month graphs, but this one from today is pretty fun. The swings are pretty huge but thankfully I have a great mental state right now and fighting back quite well.

-- EPILOGUE --

"The funny thing about luck is, the harder you work, the more of it you seem to get." [by someone]

Playing

Still playing pretty bad. Red line's way too high, and blue speaks for itself.

Total of 5.429 hands, +4BI [calculating as of NL25], 26-19 with 8.7% 3bet total.

Although volume is actually the highest I've done so far in a week, but after my "story" just above, it is kinda embarrassing to look at these numbers and say that it is "a lot", and that "I'm proud of myself". FAR from it. Yet I'm just a BIG-LAZY-LOSER.

Conclusions & Expectations

Total weekly scores so far.

GOALS FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEK

Goal no.1: Beat the score of 51.

Goal no.2: Play 10.000 hands of zoom.

Goal no.3: Get up at 05.20 [AM] all mornings till Saturday.

Goal no.4: Attend all scheduled satellites for SM.

CODA

Song of the week has already been posted, so here's another one I really like, and ...

... a nice picture of MY POKER-UNICORN.

Have a good week all

I just "LOVE" that scenario, when I say out loud that I'm gonna "man-up", and put more volume, and play better, etc., and always, ALWAYS, it just goes like this then

BTN: $15 (60 bb)
SB: $45.24 (181 bb)
BB: $31.44 (125.8 bb)
UTG: $23.30 (93.2 bb)
MP: $25.69 (102.8 bb)
Hero (CO): $26.49 (106 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 4♥ 4♠
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.60, BTN calls $0.60, 2 folds

Flop: ($1.55) 2♥ 4♣ A♦ (2 players)
Hero bets $0.80, BTN calls $0.80

Turn: ($3.15) 9♥ (2 players)
Hero bets $2.50, BTN calls $2.50

River: ($8.15) K♦ (2 players)
Hero bets $22.59 and is all-in, BTN calls $11.10 and is all-in

Spoiler

Results: $30.35 pot ($1.37 rake)
Final Board: 2♥ 4♣ A♦ 9♥ K♦
BTN showed 9♠ 9♣ and won $28.98 ($13.98 net)
Hero showed 4♥ 4♠ and lost (-$15.00 net)

And this is just a small excerpt on how am I running ;) not counting the absolute usual stuff when my KK runs into AA, or other premiums loosing almost everything

Ok. First session and 700 hands done so far, -1.5BI ;)

Now I'm gonna MAN-UP, and GRIND MORE, and CRUSH ! That's right, I just said it out LOUD again Who wants to bet on what's gonna happen ?

Good thing - final table reached.

Bad thing - I'm in 9th place with just 13BB left ... :f_mad:

Ever since I wrote that I'm in 1st place, was losing EVERY pot ... Even with QQ from utg guy defends BB OOP with 65s and spikes river gutshot-straight on J89K7 ... :f_o:

Need some luck now, come on !!

Sure. Doubled up with 99 vs 88, and then the very next hand vs aggro spewy calling station [vs 3bets and shoves] FISH just goes like this.

MP1: 19,199 (16 bb)
MP2: 72,821 (60.7 bb)
MP3: 17,558 (14.6 bb)
CO: 50,163 (41.8 bb)
BTN: 12,442 (10.4 bb)
SB: 46,888 (39.1 bb)
Hero (BB): 26,640 (22.2 bb)
UTG+1: 42,119 (35.1 bb)
UTG+2: 63,324 (52.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q♥ Q♠
3 folds, MP2 raises to 2,400, 4 folds, Hero raises to 26,515 and is all-in, MP2 calls

Flop: 6♥ 7♥ T♥ (2 players, 1 is all-in)
Turn: 5♣ (2 players, 1 is all-in)
River: 2♠ (2 players, 1 is all-in)

MP2 showed K♣ K♥ and won

Standard. I don't really get it. How much of the bad luck as well as these ridiculous set-ups vs fishes AT the CRUCIAL MOMENTS can I take ? .......

Goodnight, cya after 5 hours, got to get some sleep ...

New day, but my super duper "good" luck continues.

Guy is a 73-0 fish, doing complete random and very weird stuff post-flop, sometimes is a HUGE calling station with very weak holdings, and sometimes complete maniac shoving, over-shoving very random stuff both on wet and very dry boards.

And this is what IIIIIIII get ;)

CO: 6,275 (31.4 bb)
BTN: 20,833 (104.2 bb)
SB: 4,086 (20.4 bb)
BB: 39,179 (195.9 bb)
UTG: 4,026 (20.1 bb)
Hero (MP): 5,833 (29.2 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A♣ A♠
UTG folds, Hero raises to 600, CO folds, BTN calls 600, SB calls 500, BB folds

Flop: (2,000) 2♠ 6♥ 2♣ (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets 655, BTN calls 655, SB calls 655

Turn: (3,965) 3♥ (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets 1,855, BTN raises to 6,200, SB folds, Hero calls 2,723 and is all-in

River: (13,121) 3♦ (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results: 13,121 pot
BTN showed K♥ 2♥ and won 13,121 (7,288 net)
Hero showed A♣ A♠ and lost (-5,833 net)

Standard. Fishes get all the luck they need when playing vs me ;)

Haha. Aaaaand now the guy in BB, being 15bbd - 15 !!!, just SNAPPPPPP-calls my open shove, with T7s .... while I open shove 14bbd with A7s, because guy in SB is even shorter, and the BB is 3betting way too much, and A7s is not the hand I wanna open/call, but open raising with the intention of folding VS HIM is also very bad, so by shoving first-in I just have way more equity by adding FE. Well at least that's what I thought about fold equity, but apparently for him T7s is a SNAPPPPPP :f_eek: :f_mad: CALL-OFF :f_confused: :f_confused: :f_confused: geez .... And yeah - why am I whining when the guy is willingly giving me 70-30 ?? - OF COURSE he gets his ten ... What is happening .... ?( :(
