Glad to be back in Cash Games! Even though my today´s session started quite "badly"- got sucked out on with AA:

No reason to be sad. Let´s just keep going!

Better luck was coming - with a nice, royal stack:

But the hand of the day was this one:

Besides, I can remember more and more moves, read Villains betting patterns better and take advantage of my knowledge. Well, gotta admit: I bluff WAY more than at the beginning of my CG-journey. I´m learning not only from my books, but also from experience. That´s why it´s so important, that I grind all the way up from NL2/PLO2 to ....? Who knows? Let´s see ...

I think it´s obvious that it was a good session. Yes, it was: about 2 and a half stacks up! + 4 €!

Had today at end of session small pot but villain line was kinda funny. So BU open, I defend BB. BU cbet flop I call, turn goes checked and river goes checked:

Funny thing to me is villain not value betting at any point. Well flop is kinda value bet with that combo. This hand I would have folded both turn and river but if he thinks he cant value bet that then he could literally bluff everything less than two pair on river and print money. Even this hand probably could argue calling for unblocking QJT but yeah pool tends to under bluff.

PS: But yeah I feel especially on flush boards lot of recreationals tend to be super careful in value betting. E.g. in my shoes on BB its not that rare to see even 2nd nuts just x-c where as it should be mainly pot bet or x-r.

I used to have exactly that problem, too, Ghale!! I was not value betting river often enough - and then of course lost value. So, I added thin value bets on rivers to my game and noticed, they indeed get called by lots of worthless hands (and I often get "da pot"). Well, of couse at THAT limit I currently play!

By the way: Unfortunately no PLO today - there was no table available on Party. Just Holdem.

Yeah those $11 levels are really impossible to qualify. And you would get the same money more easily from elsewhere. I'd say grind $0.11 to $2 buy-in real-money tourneys, with direct cash prizes, not satellites. If you get to $22 level, it is more rewarding, I believe. Those $11 ones just really s*ck prize-wise.

You´re right taavi, in fact: I play MTTs just for fun. I once got into the Big Quarter (which is a big FUN tournament!!!) for free - and that is how I got my BR, because I cashed there. But otherwise, I´m not an MTT player. For me, normally, it´s wasting of time (which I don´t have enough to grind MTTs). I only play tournament poker at the weekend, usually freerolls. I enjoy a fun-evening or a fun-afternoon with those freerolls and sattys and that´s it. For me - as the title of this blog says - CASH is QUEEN!

What should be pointed out about this hand is that you managed to put your opponent all-in right on the flop, resulting in >99% equity - only way for them to win was a runner-runner straight flush, I think.

I didn't see all of during our rail session because I was preparing lunch at the same time, but from what I saw, I think you played really well today.

I indeed had the feeling that I´m making progresses, that I can read Villains better and I can more often apply the right counter-moves (or make a move myself). Guess it will be a question of routine and of knowledge. I´m not an absolute beginner, but a re-starter, not a pure fun-player, but like in tennis, a semi-ambitious recreational player (if you will...something like this).

A common cold?? In July??!

YES! Guess swimming in the cold lake last Friday was not really a great idea? After a massive heat wave in June, our summer totally broke down. It´s more fall than summer and is has been raining for weeks. Anyway, Harrier and I were determined to do a swimming challenge: in the ice cold lake, while it was cool and raining. Normally I don´t mind cool weather or cool water, but this time the water was REALLY cool. Even for ME who usually likes cool and cold temperatures!! Our challenge was 1 hour swimming with no breaks. Would be normally peanuts for me - if it hadn´t been in this cold lake! I was a bit worried about getting a urinary tract infection again, but no! It isn´t - it´s a common cold this time! :facepalm::rage:

So, no poker at the moment, but today, I feel much better. Just let´s recover from that little infection....

Finland has been hot as hell comparatively saying. Almost 20 days in row now that 30c has got broken somewhere in Finland. Would not mind to get some of that rain... 30c is not for hairy Finnish dude like me

PS: Luckily I have heat pump installed. Otherwise I could not sleep at all.

Oh boy! Poor Finns :facepalm::rage: Not a fan of 30°C either, was glad that our this year´s summer was quite "cool", even "cool" enough to give me a common cold.

When it hits 30C, I start to melt, and the people that grew up in India take off their winter coats

70-80c in my sauna is actually really good temperature. Its heated with wood. For some reason I have noticed that electric sauna stoves often seems to require higher heat to give good löyly.

Out of curiosity asked google AI about it and answer was:

Though not sure what its saying as afaik electric ones heat stones as well. At least ones I have used. But I suppose stones wont get as hot as in wood heated one. Now of course you are supposed to change sauna stones now and then. If you hit them to each other and they crumble its definitely time to get new ones.

Outdoor, though, between 10 and maximum 25°C is perfect for me! I got VERY FINNISH "problems", too!

Actually off-topic here but ....

...got a little tournament winning from a 0,33 $ PLO8 PKO MTT. I write that here, so that I do not loose track of my BR. Over there is more the light-hearted fun-blog while here, I keep track of my BR. So, a little winning for 11th place (min-cash).
