FishTastic: I see dead money

was taking a bit of a mental break from poker over the last couple days, just chilled out and played some CoD instead ♦

when i play in future it will be fore 1 hour sessions. if i plan to play longer i will have a half hour break after each hour. this way i get to cool off if i run hot, or cool off if i run like shit. it also will give me a chance to go over hands that i mark and post them in the forum. what i will do is start posting links to the hands here for some extra feedback (if you want ♦ )

im reading an article a day and watching 2 vids so my mind is staying active, and i decided to play a session tonight. i finally ran okay for the second time in a row. by okay i mean up half a stack it's better than being down half.

here are some hands for now. these two gave me the most trouble.

well i decided to play an hour's session this evening. have read a couple articles and watched a couple videos today so my thinking felt fresh.

spent the first 15 minutes being completely run over - none of my cbets paid off, none of my hands held up bla bla bla. then i got dealt KK on 2 tables and got it in preflop on both. one vs AK the other vs AA. since i set myself a stop loss of 2BI i closed the tables down and checked my cashier. 20 minutes of playing on 3 tables, down 3.5BI. result!

despite all this i think i played okay - i was adjusting to the tables i was at etc etc.

oh and the 10bb 3bet in the last hand was a misclick.

Hand 1: Raise flop imo, dont like playing on this fairly drawy board multiway, wats the plan if turn is a 8,J,K,Q?

Also think leading out on flop is ok aswell.

Hand 2 is ugly as fcuk.

Hand 3 is just a cooler buddy

AIPF with KK is never a mistake(except like 0.5% of the time, but you know when it happens, and you can always suck out!)

This month has been interesting. moving over to unibet was a great decision and it has allowed me to experience something i have never had before; a 16BI downswing. since i still consider myself a noob when it comes to poker, i find it hard to distinguish between bad play and bad run and so i use the term 'downswing' to refer to what is probably a combination of the two. the problem is i see so many people saying they are on a downswing blablabla but to be honest, at nl2 or even nl10, a lot of the time we simply don't know enough about the game to say for sure that we are just hitting variance. for that reason, i use the time to study as much as i can about poker.

i have been reading articles and watching lots of videos and i feel like i am learning more. the only reason why i havent moved down is because when i first started at nl10 i quickly made 10BI and so in a way i was only 'down' 6BI. but losing €160 was a massive slap in the face for someone used to losing the odd $5 pot here and there. with that said, i am also grateful for whatever winnings i make too ♦

losing that often really started to affect my thinking and i was on some constant tilt. it was strange because often after studying something or reading an article i felt llike my thoughts were fresh - and they were. but then i lose a standard pot and go on crazy tilt. i feel like my game sucks, i feel like i have wasted a large amount of my free time working on my game, and the worst of all is that i feel like there is absolutely no way i can grow as a player and move up. well, it's all bullshit really and it is all in my head. it comes from just being results oriented and that is just something a noob like me cannot help. i will not "try not to be results oriented" - i will just play my game, get more experience and eventually it will come naturally through getting used to the swingy nature of poker.

at the end of the day, i still enjoy playing and learning new stuff regardless of the results. for that reason i'll post graphs in here less often, and post more hands

I would have 3bet K9s or folded, it stops the blinds getting in cheap. K9s is prob ahead of villain's range and hero has pos and skill edge if it's close, but I don't want the blinds getting in cheap...are any of the blinds agro or squeeze happy?
My opinion isn't really valid as I'm a learner driver.

it was one of those situation where it was the whole table against BTN. he was the player that everyone wanted a piece of. i wanted to see a flop with K9s not for value but for implied odds, so i didn't 3bet him. if i 3bet he would have 4bet or some crap. so i didn't see myself as miles ahead anyway so i dont mind the blinds - but then this may well have been a terrible call preflop and i definitely did just get lucky flopping that hand ♦
