Three things happened today that might be fun // interesting:

I am going to return to Magic the Gathering. I am not sure if I play the Irish PTQs/Nationals or just stick to an Onliner but planning to be back when a new block comes out or the new core set

I'm more of a aggro/combo style, Raf Levy just released his '"French Frites'' reanimator deck which crushes aggro decks relentlessly
Turn 1 BoP -> Turn 3 Elash reanimated

I tilted today & jared Tendler knows why.. This actually among the worst financially speaking. In my mind I didn't threw my cell phone that hard against the wall but apparantly I hit one of the standard paintings in my apartment and *clash* glass all over the place :P

Anyways took a big workout + thinking of doing some swimming sessions as well. Then detilted along the way more or less -> Indian food

I have an affinity with the Italian National Anthem. I mostly listen to it 5-10times during my session. The tune is fascinating but the lyrics are so powerful :)

That's all folks, tomorrow I get a hair cut + avenging myself on the Poker tables :f_cool:

I worked out with a personal trainer for over a year in Brussels so anything I can help will post ;)

That makes sense Ingii , what did you do with your personal trainer exactly??

I used to train every morning from 6.30-7.30 am and then back in the gym for the evening work out which was mostly after 8.30pm (after work depending what time I finished).

We discussed several diets, food nutrition and tried several different work out (like boxing, marathon, intensive hiking etc...).

I was diagnosed with a pretty ugly "disease" just 3 years ago and so I'm not suppose to eat 70% of the available food/fruit which makes it very difficult not to go mental!!

I've seen many nutritionist and read just about 100 billion articles when it comes to digesting or our body. One of my best friend is also a trainer and has his own forum column where he advises several 100's of users everyday. It's in Hungarian but any questions you have I can forward :)

Ok so I played this hand yesterday where I thought I should jam it in but was not sure how the PFA was going to react equitywise:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
PL Omaha $0.50(BB) Replayer
SB ($42.17)
Hero ($106)
UTG ($50)
CO ($51.37)
BTN ($66.99)

Dealt to Hero Q♠ 9♦ J♠ T♦

UTG raises to $1.75, fold, BTN calls $1.75, SB calls $1.50, Hero raises to $8.75, UTG calls $7, BTN raises to $36.75, fold, Hero calls $28, UTG calls $28

FLOP ($112) T♣ 6♥ 2♥

Hero bets $69.83 (AI), UTG calls $13.25 (AI), BTN calls $30.24 (AI)

UTG is a rakeslave regular (26/20), 14% 3bet blabla

BTN plays 26/10, 6% 3bet but when he 4bets , it is captain obvious what he has.

Now I have a dilemma:
I can call here and automatically let UTG in with whatever he has thus we split, the equity versus BTN's AA**. So eg. for simplicity sake it is 50/50 so AA** has 50% equity. I split that other 50% with the reg range more or less

I can shove here to seize back that equity HOPING that the UTG reg will fold

Now I am not sure if he will fold because it depends how looks at it:

  • If he thinks we both have AA**, he is freerolling:

           Equity    Wins    Ties
    MP2    30.84%  15.45%  15.39% { AA** }
    MP3    31.14%  15.72%  15.42% { AA** }
    CO     38.02%  37.78%   0.24% { KdQdTs8c }

           Equity    Wins    Ties
    MP2    31.60%  16.17%  15.43% { AA** }
    MP3    32.16%  16.70%  15.47% { AA** }
    CO     36.24%  36.08%   0.16% { KdKsMsM }

So I am not sure if he realizes this thus will auto-call my shove.

I'm not sure what to do here. I mean HU with my Rundown DS vs AA is eazypeazy but this reg leeches my equity + can dominate my flushdraws

:f_confused:

It's not about postflop but preflop theory

I think postflop it is getting it in anyway but I prefer shoving rather than c/c if i have a miniscule % of FEQ

If by shoving you think UTG gets it in pre putting both you and BU on AAxx type hands then shove imo. You should actually be the one dominating his rundowns and flushdraws with such a premium hand, not the other way around.

I think BTN never has AAxxds so you should have higher EV 3way than HU. You will also have quite a few situations where your premium rundown is favourite preflop.

       Equity    Wins    Ties
MP2    25.85%  24.64%   1.21% { ****/r100/alss }
BU     38.83%  38.55%   0.29% { AA**/ss/os }
BB     35.32%  34.07%   1.24% { Qs9dJsTd }

I just joined today,but PLO is my main game,IMO your hole cards play great in pos. to70% of all starting hands,but against an all in heads up (3/4 bet so on) your pretty much flipping + can be crushed in the f/draw department,But against 3 players or more Im trying to c a flop before commiting to much cash, prob willing to put !5% of my stack in preflop any more than that im not interested.

The problem with shove preflop is we never be fav unless we think we have good FE.

I think your original line is best.

I disagree. Against some specific 3way matchups where one includes AAxx our rundown will be favourite but it won't be favourite against their whole range. Then again, it's not favourite against AAxx anyway so might as well bring in more dead money in the pot.

The problem is that the 3rd guy leeches our equity, he either has a better flushdraw or better TP (what happened in this case)

Sure sometimes he has a worser rundown but I don't think he can fold BBBM/ss+ or BBB*/ss or BBMM or something like that here

I don't think there is any real difference between calling preflop or shoving. After all, no one is calling BTN raise but folding to your raise. So FE is zero for your raise.

And on flop, you have 1/4 of a pot left with BTN. You need something like under 20% against him. And his range is a lot more than aces. So there aren't many flops you can fold. I would stick it in preflop, and concentrate on other tables. Most of the time it goes 3way allin, and you have about 33% on average.

If you think about calling pre and then shoving all flops, to have FE, I don't really think you have any. The only flops I can think of is 777 type of board if villain doesn't have a pair. But then again he should think that why would you shove it with pair, instead of letting him do the bet with his whole range. So he might easily call you with A high for those pot odds. So there isn't much room to play postflop. Your stacks are so shallow that the difference between calling or shoving pre is pretty slim.

When UTG calls your 3bet, most of the time he has a hand that stands well against aces. So why would he fold when there is 4bet? If you shove, he should be VERY happy to shove his hand. FE=0 (ok, sometimes he has a hand that isn't that great and he folds. But majority of his range isn't going anywhere as he calls the 3bet while there are players still to act after your 3bet).

On the other hand, is your 3bet the best line? There is a raise and 2 callers. So you can't really isolate anyone. What will happen most of the time is that one player calls and all the rest get the odds to call too. So you will be on a 3 or 4 way flop a lot of times, and you are oop. I think that playing small ball there is one option worth concidering.

I don't like having Thi flushdraws multiway. Effectively we are blocking outs for their nutty flushdraws if we are multiway

Since I think EV is greater when I 3bet, maybe get 3 way so SPR is 1.5 and can still effectively bluff people out on some boards, seize my equity on the Flop and have to worry less about dominated draws due SPR, I think I like it more than scratching my hand the whole time with a High SPR and 2 random fishy players

I think one makes more mistakes OOP with High SPR than a low one
