Ok, day 2 of using stats and I think they are helping. Either that or I am finally getting some luck on my side. So far today I have played 19 games and I'm up $355 (~10BI) so overall I'm happy. I even got disconnected from the net with about 8 tables open which sucked but luckily I survived most of them, 1 I even made the money while I was away. Also, this little upswing means I have finally made a profit from this limit which is nice. I would post a graph but cbf. Also, check this out for a cold deck.

I played another 10 games and now I'm up $500 for the night (most won in a session so far)... I still can't believe how many idiots are playing at this limit. Yes there are a few regs but the amount of retards that just want to bluff every hand is amazing. Even though I'm up a fair bit for the night I had a few bad beats, worst one is below. This is how not to play 66, stupid luckbox. I did however have a nice AA hand against a maniac so I guess it balances out. Anyway, I'm going to call it a night before the fish take revenge.

When I'm playing there are usually 1-3 regs playing but I'm sure it is different depending what hours you play. I seem to get the US late night players but I'm sure it is tougher at other hours. 6 regs on the $6.50s on stars? I figure if they were any good they would soon move up to higher limits but I guess not. I'm considering moving part of my BR back to stars just because there are more players at the higher/mid limits.

yeah i wouldn't advise you stars seems to have amassed all the wannabe pro's even at 6 50 there are regs with 10k or more profit supernova's and so on , it really doesnt matter if they are very good or not they are nits but understand icm so the edge over them cant be that big like against a fish so you ussually end up with big blinds levels and 6 or 7 per table i tell u....it s sick the amount of regulars at stars...come and see for yourself....i checked out other tables at 38 27 buyins and from 9 players there was only one loosing player at the table it s just sick... i m thinking of moving to another site....it s like there are fish but the regulars are playing all the tables available so we end up 7 8 regulars at the table, even at the 3.40 there are times with 6 regulars per table ...i tell you it s a madness stay on tilt .... if you say there are fishes left

I don't know about turbos, but players in 9men sngs on Stars on levels 3.4$, 5.5, 11$ are weak, I run into another multitabling regs rarely, and even they are usually nothing special, the rest are not worth calling 'regs', the fact that you recognize their names doesn't mean anything.

pls try out the turbos before you speak , and regs i mean they are playing up to 12 or more tables just like me they understand icm they make -ev pushes and so on, there are times when i can have a little peace and quiet with only 4 regs including me at the tables...for your curiosity just open the lobby and you ll see 8 tables with 5 men in them....why? and none of them starting because those 5 men are regulars...

BtW i'm sorry for spamming your blog with this kinda of shit....and they arent necesarry good but they are decent... and you won't have a that big edge on them

Hey this is why I explicitly said that 'I don't know about turbos' I didn't mean to offend you:), if those games are so crowded with regs you might consider switching to normal speed ones as really regs are rare.

Just a quick update, the $36s are going ok. Overall I'm running at about 2% (EV according to HEM 2.9%) ROI after ~400 games but since the second try at the limit I'm about 5%. I'm still not completely comfortable with my game but it's getting there. Also, I've decided my next goal is to build a bankroll to play the $75 super turbos. From what I've seen there aren't many regs and a heap of fish above their normal limit due to the tokens. I think I might give them a go again when I reach $5k or $6k, currently at $3965.

I have played (and beat) the STT SnG $ 6.5 at both Stars and full tilt. I can say that for sure the level of skill between the sides is fairly even.

I dont see that many times more then 3 regs at either side. At both had a ROI of 20%+

how's the water up there in the 36s? found a sustainable ROI yet?

how do they compare to the 24s? i remember you saying you found the 36s easier than the 24s???

im about ready to jump into the 24s. any advice?

I still am struggling to get my head around the 36s, pretty much breakeven after 500 games To make things worse I haven't had the best luck running about 13BI below EV. The worst thing is I'm still convinced that most of the players are worse than the lower limits, the amount of terrible calls I see it makes me wonder why I can't beat this limit. I think I need to do some work with the ICM trainer to get some confidence back. Should also be nice to get my $475 iron man bonus at the beggining of the year, a bit of incentive to put in some more effort. Anyway, here is a graph of my progress (or lack thereof). With any luck I should be able to turn this luck around, I'm aiming for a 5%+ ROI so hopefully after another 500 games I'll be back on track.

The 24s should be really easy, if you can beat the 12s the 24s will be no problems. So far the 24s have been the easiest limit. The are a bit tighter than the 12s but won't fight back as much as the 36s.

Hey GunFlavoured - I'm having a very similar experience to you on the $33+3s. I'm running at -9% roi and real roi of .2% after 175 tourneys.

The sooner we can do a sweat session the better, I think.

just remember gun 500 is a super small sample. even the smallest adjustment to your game can have huge effects to your ROI.

it looks like your EV line is starting to trend up nicely. keep working hard and you will get there.

Ok so it turns out that shitloads of alcohol over the last few weeks has dramatically increased my edge over my opponents, either that or I'm having a bit of an upswing. So far this year I have been running at 51.3% ROI (over 48 games) with a total profit (before rakeback) of $885 which is a nice start. Anyway, I've been trying to tighten my game up in certain situations as I'm still kind of assuming that every player is completely stupid. Most of them are but when I come up against a player with a brain my game is fucked. Also, I've been trying to put into practice all the stuff that I know and tell people but I completely ignore in my own game. For example, the bubble factor. I still find myself making calls because I'm ahead even though it's -EV$, hopefully that will leave my game completely soon.

So straight after I had my nice upswing I was greeted with a well deserved downswing. As lessthanthree pointed out my red line was going down so it was going to happen eventually if I kept playing like that. Anyway, that downswing + being busy for the last few days forced me to take a small break and I decided to fix some leaks in my game. One major leak is my mental attitude towards the other players on the limit. Yes there are a few terrible players but just because I notices them the most doesn't mean that they are that bad. I've decided to respect the unknowns a bit more unless I have reads I'll assume they have a solid game. Another leak I'm trying to get rid of is overplaying AK. Typical problem hand is when I raise preflop and someone 3-bets. While I think it was ok to get the money in preflop on lower limits I think calling and re-evaluating the flop is much better (depending on stack sizes). If I 4-bet I very rarely see them flop + I'm never ahead. Also, I have had a look at my pushing ranges and tightened up in a few spots. Since my small break my EV line looks to be much better so it has given me a bit more confidence in my game. Hopfully I can continue to produce these results over a larger sample size.
