Well, let me think back to a year ago... yeah I was doing pretty well... and then I changed up a whole lotta stuff... I think overall I began a foray into a number new formats, I've played CGs, FL, HU etc and been on a path of discovery... I cashed out a big portion of my roll in order to pay for wedding things and other expenses and then I played very little over the summer and went fishing instead... now I am working towards settling into a new groove... and I am working the STs, and so far I haven't been running that good at all... or so I think... I do believe that the swings here can be extraordinary and so much of my venting is a result of the downward slope... I believe it is part of my progression as I rebuild and grind on...
My mindset is not as strong as it has been, but I suppose that is one of those things that comes with time off and a new format... it will strengthen I promise as I push through and grind on...
I am beginning to wonder about HEM and may need to investigate further...

OK no poker today... was volunteering at a local school to help with some renovations... but have given things a lotta thought... tomorrow will be a poker day! (I hope plans are not made for me tho...) I will download the 15 day trial for HEM, and test it out, and if it is cool enough I will have no problem purchasin it... I may get the Omaha combo as I am quite enjoying my PLO2 as well... Anyway I am curious to see how things look there...
I have also been thinking about a new layout and strategy for upping my volume but keeping my rigourous table selection... Maaaaaaaybe I'll check out table ninja as well... but I'm not sure... I need to check my external HD tho, cos I think I may have it already on there... not sure... But I am setting tomorrow aside for a poker makeover... damn, can't believe I just said that... but tonight I am going to a flyfishing meeting which I have been looking forward to for a while... I think Saturday is looking to be a good day to get out...
Anyway, keep watching, more to come... I'm curious to find out... do I really suck?

I do really feel better seeing the red line is actually tracking at 5.8% which is OK for STs... I feel like I shoulda known this already and been prepared to grind through, but actually seeing it is so so much better... I think it is a given that I will be purchasing this as it is a major psychological tool that can keep one sane....
Now, to change up my playing layout...

Your green line is way too low IMO. You need to fix that or else perma tilt is comming!
Maybe you can bring the red line down some so the green line does not have such a hard time
keeping up?

My last session brought it down a bit, but the green line went a bit further down... I guess I'm doing it wrong....
But yeah, it gives me confidence, and my focus is on finding a balance between upping my volume and maintaining quality decisions... I have taken 897s advice and gone to a stacked layout, so now I can table select and play a few more tables... not gonna push it beyond 9 for now... quick break then another session...

You know what 897... you were right about the stacked thing... Mindset is >>>> make right decision............. Ignore what happens (very little choice).......... check red line........... review set........... Small sample (2 sets like this) but I have been able to increase my tables per hour and despite finishing down today my EV ROI is up to 6.0% for the $10s... knowing this helps me not care quite as much about the fact that I run like sick dog poo
checking red line is overrated, check your graph every 100 games imo. much more +EV, and same with cashier.

Solid advice....
Sometimes your red line is down within a set or a days worth of playing or even more...
This can be to having no choice but getting it in as the underdog and not sucking out
or just plain running into monsters for a stretch... Do not let it guide your short term
play because it can be just as disheartening as watching the board play out.
A fine thing about stacked as I just wrote in the SNG strat section is you can actually nail
solid reads and adjust to regs etc while the tables are popping up. I find I am able to recognize
several at once on several tables and remember how they have played on other tables and
it keeps my mind more in tune because of the extra effort. Remember to watch what villain
turns over before the board runs out so you can see if you had his calling / pushing range correct.
Yeah I agree that too much focus on the red line is not the best, sample size is always handy and yes even the red liines can head in the wrong direction... trick is to stop it before it becomes a trend... but I like having it

Hmmm... busy day... got about 80 games in today... and it went OK... I am really enjoying the layout I have... I am also really gonna incorporate more reviews in my overall routine, cos I really think it is one of the areas I can improve the most... overall I am feeling pretty good about things overall... despite still being in the red after 1000 games... but that doesn't seem to actually matter... I have a desire to increase volume and increase the quality of my game... let's see what happens...
