Very nice blogg! Enjoyed reading every bit of it.
A couple of questions;
The Iron Man status, whats the point of it? I've been reading alittle about it, and all it seems to do is give me access to some lame freerolls?
Can I start qualifying to Iron Man at any time of the month?
How many SNGs do you play at once, maximum and standard?

Good luck!

Thanks for the compliment.

Iron Man gives you medals. Medals equals cash. you can use them in a store just like the full tilt poker points.

I play 12 games standard on ftp and a maximum of 24 on Stars! This is different for every player tho. Just play the most you can comfortably able to play and gives you the highest $/hr or if you are studying 6 games can be alright because you don't need to miss any action.

Aright, thanks for the reply.

Iron man, to get bronze you need like.. 250 point a day for 15 days, right?

I'm currently playing some SNGs at tilt, 11dollar 45man, 6 at the time. New to the game of SNGs(MTT grinder) and a 17inch screen kinda limits the numbers.

just a quick update

Finally using my machine full time, and it feels really good. Everything just goes...like...zoom zoom in split second. Especially nice when working with review in HEM and using filters.

Anyway, I have a feeling, that i have 48h a day it wouldn't be enough, thing is that I just dont post my hands in sample I want, and dont get to look all videos i want.

But for example, i do my sngwiz quizes, acctually after i discuss with coach, he told me to do instead of quizes a review of my played games in similar situations. So i made some filters in HEM for example 1-12bb push, and 1-12bb calls. And works even better. Thx coach.

The other thing im fighting with my self beside not enough time (read: not good organised), is variance, at least im telling to my self its variance. In this last week i played till now 475gm with 12% (ev adj 15%), time played 47.5h, but only in last 2 days i made progress. It was frustrating to look in only 10bi profit when ev adj shows much much more...still not strong in my head.

This is the reason i think lots of players quit poker. And this is why i try to play as lots of games on one limit as i could before making it up, just to build confidance. I am sure and believe those players and coach who telling me, that those swings are gona be bigger and nastier up there...so i need to be as much possible ready for them. So finaly have to finish that book Worm5 gave me (thx mate), "The poker mindset". Started but never finished...so maybe one more goal, for this weekend.

I also found out that i need to work a lot more on my push - fold mode late stages, and agree with my fellow shark to take in future coaching with about bit more accent on turbos, because when we gona table select on bigger bi we need to have a more choice not only normal sngs.

One great thing happened two days ago, when _cool: noticed that i did not used all my bonuses from last year on PokerStars, so i got my $40 which i even didnt know they are there...you know that feeling when you find that money in a pocket of your long forgoten trausers...what a feeling!! Txh mate _cool:, you have a drink on me.

And if there is someone intrested in sharing or making filters for using while analyzing a sng hand history skype me: vbzgskype _ugly:

p.s.
Guthans, i play 9-10 tables (now 12-16, I am late with my goals), tiled, and only normals for now, dont feel comfortable with my push-fold stage for now, but soon gona do them.

Until next time gl to all of you, and appreciate your time reading this story of ours.

I like motivation quotes so i use one in the end of every post. So this will be the first:

"Get a good idea and stay with it. Dog it, and work at it until it's done right." by Walter Elias Disney

My promissed update!

So far the month is going good in some ways and bad in other ways.

The good thing is that I get enough games in and am very much on shedule for this month. My winnings are decent, but must be a lot more!!

The bad thing is my ev adjusted ROI. That's only 2% after 554 sample! I have been playing turbo's for 95% of the games, so that is the problem probably.

Turbo experience did manage to improve my push and fold skill. But not in the way I would have liked it to do. I broke even over close to 500 games. I did run a bit hot so I still had a 4% ROI. If you add rakeback and medals and all that is not even that bad. And I will be able to join Blackcard members earlier so that's got to count for something.

Yesterday I started with my normal games. I promissed fellow shark _biggrin: to show him how to 16 table the $5.5 and that went pretty awesome. 50% adjusted ROI and 54% real :).

After that I started my normal games (still on the $10 because of not being able to beat the turbo's) I did oke but ran into every single top range. Still booked profit.

My plan for the next two weeks is:

This week keep grinding the $10
Next week start mixing in the $20

Picture of set-up in next post

Kind regards,

hmm where to start. I think just start from scratch. I won't update for last month since I broke even and didn't play for such a long time that it doesn't make sence to do so. Also I haven't reached my goals by far because of Black Friday.

May goals are going to be a bit slim:

[ ] 750 games on a different network
[ ] play mostly $22 (70% atleast)
[ ] reach a good status at my new client
[ ] play 100 hours
[ ] finish my deal

and to give my first small update aswell. So far I was playing a little above 20% ROI. Today I had a 30% difference in my ROI making my real total ROI 8% and adjusted 19.9%. That sucked but life goes on and I am very positive about my game so far just had some bad sh*t today.

Bad stuff continued yesterday when I dropped about 15 buy-in while I should have won about 3-4 buy-in over 35 games. Every game I played well till we came to 5-6 handed play. I either got screwed in all in situations or I end up getting screwed in the 3 handed game and somehow managed to not win a single tournament. Placing third every time you finish in the money ain't exactly what you play for.

Gladly today it turned around again. After 44 games I am up 15 buy-in and caught up with my redline a bit. It's not close to my green but at least I'm running a bit better than yesterday.

As for reall life. Tomorrow I have to go get my parents in law from Schiphol and my "poker set-up" in their living room has to be gan before that or they will go insane about it. Been a couple of good days tho.

- put realistic goals YES/NO
- 60-70 games/day NO
- make iron man NO
- become platinum pokerstrategy member NO
- post replies on many hands on sng 5-20$ forum as i could (homework from coach) NO
- 100 icm trainings in sngwiz per day YES
- posting my hands on forum every day (at least 5 - homework from coach) NO
- be active on our blog NO
- taking coachings YES
- review all caoching sessions till now NO

RESULT 980 games 10$ normals played, ROI 7%, ADJ ROI 10,6%

So...this month is...mixed moods. But all in all i am probably satisfied more with my results, than the all that happened, from late start with my grinding, because of delay with my new computer, to "black friday"...

Conclusion from expiriance with my goals from April:
- making goals, focus on quality not quantity
- do those quantity goals considering studing and learning
- not chasing bonuses by playing more tables than i can handel well
- try to do something about my mental atitude toward swings
- trying not to be so result oriented toward my sessions, after finishing them

Having some family stuff until next week, so till than ill think about my last month and put new goals for this.

Just wanted to leave a little comment about yesterday. I had my best session so far. A total of 50 games played of wich 29 where on $22 limit and 21 on $11. I managed to get a adjusted ROI of 31.8% real ROI 58.8% wich made me a:

$511 day

$/hr: $106.09 _cool:
adjusted $/hr: $57.33

Now I finally make more than my dad :) and that's pretty tough believe me _evil:

I'm very happy so far with my play and feel like I am going to rock this month. Aiming for a $3k month (impossible but my head will explode if I do) to cover for a lot of expenses to come in the upcomming 3 months.

so far with rakeback and bonusses added month is:

$864 over 238 games

peace and out,

Since my last update I have been playing my A-game like every single day. It's going great so far for this month. Only thing I should increase a bit is volume. I've had another +20 buy-in day. So I like this month very much.
I promissed vbzg I wouldn't post my $/hr from yesterday.... But....

$194.15 $/hr is to sick to skip! _cool: _cool: _cool:
this was like 3% of the adjusted ROI of 68% ;)

Update for my goals after like almost half month:

[ ] 750 games on a different network -- 350 games so far
[ ] play mostly $22 (70% atleast) -- 87% avg buy-in $19.19
[ ] reach a good status at my new client -- achieved
[ ] play 100 hours -- 41 hours
[ ] finish my deal -- cancelled with a little loss because of a restructure!

So I am proud of this month for now and want to make it sky-rocket to achieve the sickest month as of yet. $3.5k Month let's hope :)

Will post a graph end of the week!

Kind regards,
_cool:

As for the client, I am playing on Tower Gaming now.
Looking to spread my action on more clients tho to get a little bit more action.

PartyPoker is not adviced tho since 2+2 and other big forums say they have huge amount of regs... better stay the hell away.

Gladly there are a lot of other clients to chose from!

Weekend has been a bit slow. I had to play tennis but I got some really sick opponents again. This was the second time I had international players against me :( I got skoold 6-0, 6-1 this time. On the bright side, if I made a little less double faults it could have been 6-3, 6-3 for sure. Doubles went a bit better but only managed to get 1 game more. Next two weeks I will have to play again probably and opponents will be from the same skill level, wich is nice.

Also it went slow because Sunday my football team (AJAX) had to play for the national title. The game seemed to take for ever but thank god we made it till the end of the wistle. 3-1 victory more than enough to win the title.

Poker wise, I only played Friday and today. In total about 10 Buy-in up over 55 games more or less. Not so happy with my game, but that's something I know from the weekends. I play on a laptop where I have no internal rest (lots of noice around me) and I don't have the stats "yet" on that machine, since it's from Bollocks22 and I don't want to import all my hands and make her database to slow.

Result was oke so next weekend I need to try and search for a bit more quiter moment to play.

Last but not least, my fellow musketeers are not so active anymore.

_biggrin: is busy with a assignment he received where he can make some decent money. So he is not playing poker so much for now.

_ugly: is playing a lot but just forgets to post I think. So I will put some pressure on him so he must post!

kind regards, _cool:

Hello

Sorry, my fellow musketeer, ye, i did not post it, i admit im a bit a lazy this month.

I am now sure that all this stuff around FTP, cashout, Moneybookers... hit me psyhologicaly more than i was ready to admit , so i find my self even in some cases in state of panic trying to find quick solution, for something i wasnt ready, and hopefully gona prepare my self better in future. Especially when this is my only source of income.

Now i know that only xx buy ins BR is not the only thing considering good bank roll management, next time i am gona cash out in time with money i dont need on account, and gona make saving for bad times for not 3 months but 6 months, and later probably for whole year. This school was expensive but hope i learned something for good.

My dear coach propose some methods of cashing out, but i dont wont to take any more risks and gona wait for moneybookers to work again, or in mean time try to open Netteler. Any way not going to waste more than i need my mental energy on something, that is for now out of any influence by me. So let it be.

What i have now is luck of motivation, starting all over again, from scratch. Ye i changed site on which im playing (not wise to build my BR on FTP when i cant cash out for now), and doing something like 10% roi, slow but sure up.

Yesterday i was reading some blogs, and find that other people also have luck of motivation even when they running good, so next thing i was thinking was...ok let me find all those good thing happend in poker till now, and maybe those positive feelings from past start doing some positive things for future (sorry my english is not so good so i hope you understand what i meant).

Positive from past:

- i find a game in which if you work on yourself and invest time improving, it actually pays off, which is hard to say for other "real" jobs in life
- build more than 6k $ from literly freerolls (then deposit of 10$, because they didnt alow cash out if you dont put your money first, and this site by the way is probably history now, Absolute Poker, i am gona remember you forever, big thank you)
- you become member of this wonderfull site PokerStrategy.com (and you got also 50$ from them for boost, and now you bring them good money as well, so deff win-win).
- you meet wonderfull people here, like variancekiller, <3, worm5 and all other, thank you guys a lot
- had a huge support from my „real“ life friends (Hrvoje, Danijel thx)
- haveing the best pearson by my side, my wife is the best, showing me such a huge support (thx darling), and showing me also, that is not all about result, but about a will to stand up every time you fail, or when you think you fail…

Life

Life is a bitch some times, this is like… I dont know any more, just when i hit good, something comes out of the blue, and screw you. So ye life is variance, you go good than you got 15-50 bi down in a streak, and you think to yourself, sht not again, just when it started to roll finaly, there you go again down. Fk you life, i am going to stand up one more time, and one more after that, and always one more time more then you pound on me. Im gona be fkn Volume, ye call me „volume“, im gona put such a huge volume, so if thats what have to be im gona punch back with volume against variance. In the end we all lose battle with life, but what a hack, we gona gone in style. Like Frank Sinatra said: I did it my way.

There is not gona be month goals for some time, before I regain my confidence in a head, so lets say im gona have my weekly goals. And for now its gona be about building my confidence and mental atitude back in track.

This week goals:
- playing every day the number of games im feeling i can handle
- concentrate on my A game not on result
- not losing any time on stuff i cant influence
- work on my mental side of poker
- put some more quality time with friends, and people i admire and love

Whish me luck. Over and out

A bit expensive comparing to other countries in the world, but very satisfied with it. Anyway skype me: vbzgskype for more details about store and price.

P.S. Variancekiller is actually "The Dutch Eleven".

Ok just a bit update from last week.

Very satisfied with my mental attitude, because it is improving, and still need a lot of work on.

I played the number of games i feel good about my play, and try to make best possible decisions at the table without looking at result. And there is the problem I still cant detech myself from that results, so yep, im still result oriented.

So for this week the goal is not to look at result until the end of the week.

Good stuff that i actually get some money from my BR on FTP, with help of <3. Big thank to you man, you are really "the great one".

Again started to taking coachings, and feel great, building my self confidence by investing in me, and i dont have any doubt, that result will come sooner or later.

So the last week result:
