You want a t-shirt for free? Ok.

There is a giveaway at my Discord. I am playing $600 PLO MTT package during this week's Wednesday and Thursday. You can buy shares from it at the Discord, and PLO Order members have that 0,95 markup. In the giveaway, you just have to make a prediction of the outcome for that MTT package. Go to Discord and make, and this fine shirt could be yours! Discord: https://discord.gg/AzJcaSp

Deep waters once again. Played PLO50 for two days, and the amount of bad beats in once again insane. I run under EV a lot, and also tons of situations where I make the 2nd nut flush vs nut flush in 3bet pots, backdoors etc. Losing AA vs AA preflops, and countless situations where opponent calls a raise with dry overpair vs. my trips/full house, hitting the 2 outer. I know they will even out in the long run, but it's just weird how the bad run often comes with a crash. Not like you would lose 1 or 2 hands in a session like that, but constant beat after beat. It's nice that opponents are calling wide, but man... Today, over 400bb pot where I shove overpair, nfd and OESD on the turn. 2 opponents call, both had dry 2 pairs on T652ds board. 2 pairs is a 2 pairs, but I would assume they wouldn't stack off with those on that board. And lost quite many buyins by 4betting AA/AKK, opponent calling with pocket pair, and hitting the set.

Biggest loss was 200bb deep, allin on the turn on AA76, opponent had AJxx and I had AKxx. He hit the J on the river.

The thing that confuses me is that if luck is purely random, then shouldn't running over EV be as probable as running under EV? I know that memory and perception is biased, but I really can't remember when I would have run over EV a lot for decent sample. But I have been running under EV for the whole 2020.

I ve seen Holdem Graphs playing millions of hands under EV. there is no guarantee you will ever balance EV out. so its just to cry over bad luck or recognising your games are rigged and pools are sharing holecards

im running under ev for 130k hands this year btw

Domination is the key to make money in PLO. And this hand is just pure Domination!

Spoiler

Single raised pot, and opponent showed that he wants to play for stacks. Suits me. I was pretty sure that he has the straight with fd, and we are flipping.

Spoiler

Seems like we are not, he has 6% if I remember correctly.

Spoiler

After the river, I was quite happy I used cashout. :f_drink:

it doesnt happen very often to be ahead 96% of the time
but it is even less often to not win the hand :P

Oh man, why do I get these sessions all the time? There were two players on the tables that caused nightmare to me. One was calling station and other was maniac. Both of them just kept hitting boards all the time. I played at Stars but even cashout didn't save me. Calling station decided to call pot sized raise on the turn 200bb deep, leaving 12bb behind. Had 4 outs, hit one of those and money went in. If he had just shoved turn, I could have used cashout. On another pot, he had 3% on the turn and same thing happened. Call turn, leaving couple bucks behind. Boom.

And the maniac... Oh man, he was very good in putting most of his money to they pot from behind. Constantly I got big pot versus him, most of the money in on the turn and he had 10-15% on average. But skiped miracle rivers one after another. Probably lost over 10 buyins to him. His style was really easy to figure out, and if we could calculate the EV of turn situations it would be close to +8 buyins or more. Like board being Q826, I have QJT8 with a fd. He bets, I raise, he calls. River is a 2, and he shoves 1/5 of a pot. Had AT52. And that kept happening until I decided to call it a day.

Yeah, there will be a session where he doesn't hit. But it just seems that the variance has not been kind to me this year. On average, there should be as many upswing sessions as there are downswing sessions. Hasn't just averaged for me, I can remember tons of nightmare sessions but can recall 1 or 2 upswing sessions from 2020.

No wonder why so many people put on the tin foil hat and say it's rigged.

How many of you believe that luck is exactly as probable to everyone? Is it just variance that some people run over EV in life while some run below, for their whole lives? Rational mind says it is, but human brains sucks in accepting randomness.

I once had following chat on pokerstars with one reg:

Reg: Man you just keep waking up with those monsters
Me: Yeah and then I lose
Reg: lol yeah I have never seen anyone get sucked out as often

Those were referring mainly to preflop allins in sng games.

Have tried to play now and then on stars but pretty much below ev all the time. Played some spins. EV went breakeven and result around 30 degree down hill. Before that some normal sng where EV went up quite nicely but actual result plummeting. Samples were small (500 spins and 1k sng) but yeah thought to really stop playing there. No point to keep hitting head on wall.

But yeah unlikely it would be rigged in anyway but variance is what it is. Often people say that play long enough and it evens out but I have played like maybe 6-7M hands on sng and it's far away from doing that.

When you have THE nuts, you are happy to get over 100bb to the middle. But you are not happy when opponent calls, leaving 5,5bb behind...

Spoiler

Spoiler

Luckily he had QJ86 and called river. :f_love:

Another proof that Ace blocker bluffs are not working at small stakes.

Spoiler

I pot the river, and as he snap calls with 2pairs he would never fold a flush.

I was sure that I am being slowrolled...

Spoiler

I 3bet pre, reg 4bets, hasn't 4bet previously and we don't have history that much. Flop is puke, SPR less than 1. Checked, he checked back. All the alarms went on. On the turn I shove and he goes to tank. And waited all the way to the last second of his timebank, I was so sure the was slowrolling and would show AAxx.

He didn't, he had KQJ9. I have no idea why would he 4bet that oop.

Nice try, bro!

Spoiler

BTN: 182.2 BB
SB: 68.36 BB
BB: 34.88 BB
UTG: 137.28 BB
Hero (MP): 149.16 BB
CO: 340.08 BB

6 players post ante of 0.12 BB, SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.12 BB) Hero has 4♣ A♦ 7♣ A♠

fold, Hero raises to 4.12 BB, CO calls 4.12 BB, fold, fold, BB calls 3.12 BB

Flop: (13.48 BB, 3 players) K♥ 5♠ J♠
BB checks, Hero checks, CO checks
Not the greatest flop for AA.

Turn: (13.48 BB, 3 players) 6♦
BB checks, Hero bets 6.48 BB, CO raises to 32.36 BB, fold, Hero raises to 110 BB, CO calls 77.64 BB
Once BB checks twice, it's unlikely he has a strong hand. And as CO checked flop, it's unlike he has a strong hand. As I checked the flop, it's unlikely I have a strong hand. I don't like my sizing, half a pot on that board doesn't generate a lot of FE. I like my bet, as everyone is capped and I have the best hand really often. Just should make it bigger.

CO raises. The only hand that he should have for value is 66. Very unlikely, and he is marked aggressive. He probably reads the situation like I, that no one should have a strong hand and raises some kind of a draw/combodraw. I reraise and he calls.

River: (233.48 BB, 2 players) T♥
Hero checks, CO bets 225.48 BB, Hero calls 34.92 BB and is all-in
Not the river I would like to see, but 35bb into a pot of 300.

His turn raise is most likely very profitable versus overall field, generating tons of FE. Too bad I knew what he knew, and he didn't knew that I knew what he knew. And on top of that my hand held.

CO shows 5♣ 7♦ 9♠ 4♦ (One Pair, Fives)
(Pre 38%, Flop 37%, Turn 38%)
Hero shows 4♣ A♦ 7♣ A♠ (One Pair, Aces)
(Pre 62%, Flop 63%, Turn 63%)
Hero wins 295.32 BB

That CO call to turn 3bet seems way too loose? I mean your range is still least uncapped probably as you could also look for x-r on flop with aggro villain on position?

Average player cbets strong hands 100% of times on that flop, including me.

3ways even aggros are not going bananas on that flop without a hand. And if they have a hand, it's better if they raise your cbet.

These Zoom regs just keep confusing me every day.

Spoiler

BTN: 111.18 BB
SB: 102.5 BB
Hero (BB): 116.7 BB
UTG: 100 BB
MP: 290.62 BB
CO: 143.76 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 6♥ K♦ A♠ 6♠

fold, fold, fold, fold, SB raises to 3 BB, Hero calls 2 BB

Flop: (6 BB, 2 players) 9♥ K♠ 2♦
SB checks, Hero bets 4.28 BB, SB calls 4.28 BB

Turn: (14.56 BB, 2 players) A♦
SB checks, Hero bets 10.38 BB, SB calls 10.38 BB

River: (35.32 BB, 2 players) 9♣
SB checks, Hero checks

SB shows Q♠ 8♣ A♣ J♦ (Two Pair, Aces and Nines)
(Pre 51%, Flop 22%, Turn 10%)
Hero shows 6♥ K♦ A♠ 6♠ (Two Pair, Aces and Kings)
(Pre 49%, Flop 78%, Turn 90%)
Hero wins 33.56 BB

He check-calls flop with just one over card and a gutshot. It would be easy to just say he is a bad player, but he seems to be solid-ish reg. And a lot of regs do those kind of calls, call flop with something that looks really weak hand to me. The problem with that kind of a hand is that there are exactly 4 turns that you are comfortable continuing when facing a 2nd barrel. Meaning 90% of turns you either check-fold of check-call and set up nasty river spot. Similar stuff is to call cbet on AQ8ss with naked KK etc.

Today I had awful session. Lost only 2 buyins in the end, but lost 3 times when 4betting AA and opponent COLD CALLED with a pocket pair, hitting the set. In the long run, nice. In the short run, give me a break. And also lost a huge pot where I had AAQ4ss on Q65ss flop after 4betting. Pot the flop, turn was 3r and SPR 1. Shoved and opponent snapped with J754ss. Solid hand preflop to call 4bets.

Oh, and lost 2 buyins when flopping a set in 3bet pots, and opponent calls with dry overpair, hitting 2 outer on the turn.

Whole session wasn't that horrible, as lost only 2 buyins in the end while losing 7 buyins on those beats.

Remember that we have PLO Primetime this Wednesday, and from Thrusday on there will be a "relaunch" of PLO Order, along with some giveaways in the stream and 15% discount on KyyStore!

I got absolutely hammered in 30 minutes. Lost 15 buyins and called it a day. Even cashout didn't save me, constant set vs set in 3bet pots, or me getting most of the stack in vs 2-6 outers on the flop, just to find out opponent has hit his miracle on the turn. And then multiple hands where opponent calls flop and turn with 2 outs, hitting the river. And then this was the cherry on the top:

Spoiler

BTN: 55.5 BB
SB: 114.62 BB
BB: 247.74 BB
Hero (UTG): 106.96 BB
MP: 101.8 BB
CO: 217.46 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has T♥ 7♥ A♥ A♠

Hero raises to 3.5 BB, fold, fold, BTN raises to 6 BB, fold, fold, Hero raises to 19.5 BB, BTN calls 13.5 BB

Flop: (40.5 BB, 2 players) 2♣ Q♥ K♥
Hero checks, BTN bets 36 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 36 BB

Turn: (112.5 BB, 2 players) 3♣

River: (112.5 BB, 2 players) 2♥

BTN cashed out 36.86 BB for a fee of 0.38 BB

Hero shows T♥ 7♥ A♥ A♠ (Flush, Ace High)
(Pre 54%, Flop 66%, Turn 30%)
BTN shows 2♠ 3♥ A♦ A♣ (Full House, Twos full of Threes)
(Pre 46%, Flop 34%, Turn 70%)

Opponent min3bet-calls preflop with AA, getting SPR 1 and then shoves flop he totally misses. I didn't use cashout, cos I thought I am pretty locked to at least half a pot and have a freeroll to total pot. How wrong was I. He had 13% to scoop the pot.

Nice try.

BTN: 83.58 BB
SB: 111.46 BB
BB: 112.86 BB
Hero (UTG): 100 BB
MP: 135.38 BB
CO: 103.72 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 6♠ Q♦ A♦ 8♠

Hero raises to 3.5 BB, fold, CO calls 3.5 BB, fold, fold, BB calls 2.5 BB

Flop: (11 BB, 3 players) Q♥ K♦ 7♥
BB checks, Hero checks, CO checks

Turn: (11 BB, 3 players) 2♦
BB checks, Hero bets 7.84 BB, CO calls 7.84 BB, BB calls 7.84 BB

No one showed interest to the pot, meaning AQ is often the best hand and even if a lone K calls we have equity.

River: (34.52 BB, 3 players) 3♣
BB checks, Hero checks, CO bets 32.8 BB, fold, Hero calls 32.8 BB

Blankest of the blanks. And suddenly opponent pots. It just doesn't make sense. His valuerange there is 33 only, as river doesn't complete anything else. If he had a strong hand on the turn, why he just called that on the turn and then pots it on the river? On the other hand, me and the other player look weak. Which we are.

Turn call with OESD on two-tone board. Nice call. If he had bet 2/3 on the river or half a pot, he would have had more FE against me.

CO shows J♦ 2♣ T♥ J♣ (One Pair, Jacks)
(Pre 50%, Flop 39%, Turn 30%)
Hero shows 6♠ Q♦ A♦ 8♠ (One Pair, Queens)
(Pre 50%, Flop 61%, Turn 70%)
Hero wins 96.12 BB

Nightmare session got a sequel.

- Backdoor straight vs backdoor straight in 3bet pot, lost.
- Opponent calling turn pot raise on A865ss and blank river bet with dry KK, no blockers. Lost.
- Opponent calling pot sized cbet and pot sized turn bet on 3bet pot on A63ss flop with 9887, no flush draw. Turn 8, river T. AA was paper.
- Maniac who 3bets close to 100% wakes up with AAds versus my KKds, same suits. Lost.
- Opponent cold calling 4bet with dry KK32, flop A54 and I have AKK. Lost.

On a bright side, cleared the bonus. On a dark side, lost another 10 buyins today. Time for a little break. And pushed all the money at Stars to Saturday's UFC title match, Khabib to win at rounds 1-5. Odds are 2, double up or quit!
