So played 10 games so far today and only cashed in one of them... 
After quick review of the critical hands in each game - 6 were solidly good shoves, 3 were right on the edge either way, and 1 was absolutely horrible and I knew it as soon as I did it too...
Going to do some housework, listen to some tunes and have a break before coming back. Not that I need it, my mental game has been very good lately, but I do need to do some cleaning around here... yikes!!!!

The weekend is over so that must mean it is time for an update...
On Friday I took a small stab (~ 10 games) at the $3.50's and wasn't thrilled with the results, although I think I played well overall. I think I am going to stick with the $1.50's for another couple of weeks before taking another stab.
We hosted a home game Saturday night and that was a lot of fun. I busted out shoving my last 7 bb's with 22p from UTG and got called by ATs... about as close a race as I am gonna get (49:51), but it didn't pan out for me - oh well had lots of fun anyways! My wife finished ITM and won our buy-ins back - Atta-girl ♦!!!
My little guy has been teething, sick, and feverish the past few days so this weekend he required lots of attention - which I am very happy to give him (nothing beats snuggles - not even Chuck Norris!!!). It did upset a review session I had planned - apologies guys (maythany, pauln, zachrina) - hopefully we can do another soon.
Today also marked my first day back to work after a few months of medical leave. I'll be easing back into my job over the next few weeks and I'm looking forward to it. I really do enjoy the people I work with, so it is good to be back.
Tomorrow I have a coaching session and am very excited about that as I am hoping to get some feedback on the changes I've made to my game lately.
No worries at all. Hope to do something in the near future.
Not had a home game for such a long time. They normally end up messy. Plus the wife does not participate. She's gonna take some convincing when I decide to go pro

Great News - I've got a coaching for profit-sharing deal with alxpoker91 set up. He is very easy to discuss situations with and good at getting me to think about different situations. I am gonna work my ass off for him over the next year as he helps me improve and move up stakes.
We did our first coaching this morning under this arrangement and he really helped me identify a big leak in my game, and helped me solidify a concept I've been working on for the past couple of weeks.
It was a really good session that really got me motivated - so much so, that I went on a Huge Heater (for me anyways.... ♦ ♦ ♦ )

I've decided to add a volume goal for 2014.
My normal playing habits would see me get in about 1500 games a year (about one 4-table session every day on average) but I've decided to push myself and triple that - so starting today, I am going for 4500 by the end of 2014. I've started 6-tabling again so that should help make it doable.

Reviewed one of zachrina's 6-max tourneys today - very interesting to think about the adjustments required vs a full-ring game. Overall I think it was a good game, just 2 hands that I would have taken a different line. Unfortunately, he suffered a couple of bad beats in some very well played hands.
I've been keeping all my poker notes on a couple of notepads by my laptop. Last night my kid decided he wanted to colour and all my papers got torn off the notepad. 
So I started looking around for a notebook and then I remembered I had a poker journal from when I was playing in 2010. I found it and read through it - pretty sweet stuff. A lot of notes from TwiceT, Chenny8888, and lessthanthree. So tonight I think I am going to start a new journal and copy over all my notes of value from then and now. Should be a good memory exercise.
As for my game, I definitely felt like I was on auto-pilot today and playing my B-game for most of it. At one point, I became really aware that I wasn't applying the stuff I learned recently, so I started to really focus and ended up nabbing a couple of first places :), but soon after I slipped back into my B-game again...

Reviewed my marked hands today from the past couple of days. Overall I feel I am making much better decisions at the tables and my hand review is bearing that out.
The improvements I've made to my game over the past few weeks are still not hard-wired, so if I lose focus I find myself slipping into my old game. Luckily, I usually catch myself pretty quick and get back to applying what I've learned. I'm hoping after another week or two most of this stuff will become automatic and then I can focus on learning and applying some new things.

That big 4500 still looks like a daunting number. About avg 90 games a week should be doable.
My challenge of 250 games before Friday is also going to be tough but the push continues today. Ups and downs up to now but like you say, volume is important but focus is paramount!

Had a review session with the guys today and it was pretty good - I got a lot from it. Welcome to our newest member - rmslobato. He had great insight on one hand in particular that I really appreciated.
I don't think I am going to make silverstar - just too much going on to push myself that hard, but next month I think it is definitely a goal worth pursuing. I'm still going to push to get some decent volume in but just can't get that much.
Not many games today and I wasn't playing that great anyways - my bubble play and post-flop play were much weaker than normal - need to keep an eye out for that over the next couple of days.

Planning on doing so tonight - with my own review, the coachings, the sweat sessions and our study group - I keep finding excuses not to post hands, but I know I really should take advantage of that opportunity while I still have silver status on here.
Played a few games today and again felt like my bubble play was weaker than normal - knocked myself out of the money a couple of times where I was a comfortable 2nd chip-stack and could have easily made it ITM if not a win. By the end of the session though, I feel like I really got a grip on things again and was playing much better.

Good luck, I think I may be rubbing off on you. Played twenty today and bubbled a ton as usual. That red line is getting right on my tits. Does it take into account the lucky............. ooh never mind.
