Arrrrrggghh, the funk continues. I'm alright at this limit, but starting out with a couple winning sessions followed by a downer really sucks. Here's the overall FL .5/1-SH graph. The first 3/4 of this graph is from a month or two ago.

Stuck to the fundamentals today but things just went wrong. And of course, I probably added an extra $5-10 making a couple silly mistakes again. I just can't believe that I'm missing everything and they're hitting everything, so I decided to play back a couple times, and of course they have a hand! Good thing is that little leak can be fixed. Maybe it's time for a little break from limit hold'em and time for a bit of super-micro stud hi/lo!

Ahhhh yes, the doomswitch. The thing that bugs me is that I can tell when a streak of (so-called) bad luck is beginning. The current conspiracy is that Mansion is trying to put me on tilt so I'll hit the roulette table again. But it's not going to happen.

*(I'm half kidding, half serious)

Here's the session after my mini-break. I won 4 hands over $2 on .5/1 tables.

Alright, time for another few days off. Tilty again. That will happen when you're in a moderate downswing and get hit with an ugly, ugly session. When I write these blog posts they're fairly honest, if I think things are rigged at the moment of writing, I'll write it. However, I do not plan on visiting full tilt anytime soon, that place is truly rigged. ;)

Forgot to update my bankroll .

Bankroll: $394.58 CDN, 311 BB's for .5/1.

Almost time to move down. I started the limit at 404 BB's, hit a high (at the end of a session) of 436 BB's. Current swing, -125 BB's.

" I can tell when a streak of (so-called) bad luck is beginning."
Ahh variance! I know the feeling also, I just start to pray that this one will not be a big long one.

It will end and the fish who play everything and anything will eventualy be giving the money back. For now, stay off the tilty waggon and as you said stick to the fundamentals

Hehe, I took a stab at recording a session. Had some troubles with sync'ing the audio with the video so I decided to record the video using Camstudio and the audio using Audacity, so there's two files. Just play them at the same time and everything works great, but the audio is still a little ahead, but pause the audio for a second or two and problem solved. The files turned out very small, 16MB for the video and 9MB for the audio, nicely packed into a 21MB .rar archive. 21MB for a 40min video is damn good!

Well, so much for keeping my screen name private. ;) I refer to some hud stats, but unfortunately they were not captured on the video.

Enjoy!

File Factory is new to me so comments on that are welcome, too.

Edit: I deleted this vid from file factory. I've improved the production quality on the next one ;)

I think I found a few leaks in after reviewing the session I posted above. Played two, two hour sessions on four tables and I'm playing a bit better now. I took a huge beat today, though. Here's the hand.

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy hand converter:

$0.5/$1 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BU with K:d, K:s.
3 folds, Hero raises, SB folds, BB 3-Bets, Hero caps, BB calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) A:c, K:h, A:d (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB raises, Hero calls.

Turn: (6.25 BB) 2:s (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB 3-Bets, Hero caps, BB calls.

River: (14.25 BB) 7:s (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB 3-Bets, Hero caps, BB calls.

Final Pot: 22.25 BB.

Results follow (highlight to see):

Hero shows a full-house, kings full of aces (Kd Ks)
BB shows a full-house, aces full of sevens (Ah 7h)
Hero loses with a full-house, kings full of aces, RIGGED!!! (Kd Ks).

Other than that, it's going a bit better than it has the last couple days.

Last 2 sessions:

Hands Played: 1046
Amount Won: $17.26
Winrate: 1.65BB/100

Bankroll: $389.52CDN, 307 BB's for FL .5/1

I have another video ready. I think I've sorted out a few issues from the last one and the audio and video are in the same damn file! Audio still doesn't quite sync up perfectly though. But it's the same good quality, 40MB's, 40 mins, me playing on three tables this time. The session my not be as entertaining as the last - look up tuff_fish on youtube - but at least I won this one!

Haha, yeah, I guess I shouldn't have been so impatient - people will watch the vids when they have the time.

I've been just barely beating the game the last few sessions. Been spending some extra time working on my game, hence the videos. As long as I keep marching ahead and working on getting better I should be able to get back into winning form again.

Time for another journey into the past with an overall graph. I've only been playing limit full-time since the beginning of December, so I should just accept that I still have much to learn and new skills to develop. The beginning of my limit experience was very good. It took some time for the downswing experience to manifest... damn variance... up yours buddy. X( But I'm three times experienced now, so I'm getting used to the experience as an expected part of the game. As long as I play a solid game and keeping working on improving, that's all that really matters - the upward slope with emerge on its own.

Finished up another video. Been having fun putting these together but I think this will be the last one for a while.

Been slowly getting back into form lately. Hopefully things will slowly start to move up again.

Ugly, ugly session today. The W$SD stat was zero on a couple of my tables for a long time. Basically, I took a series of bad beats and couldn't win a damn thing. The tables were all supposedly juicy, all 50+ saw flop %, I used the free trial for tabletracker to pick out the supposedly best tables, etc. Well, the tables were filled with crazy, just plain bad fish, just like at Stars - I did not run well at Stars. So, yeah, I think table conditions were partly to blame here. I got schooled and sucked to death by the tables.

Ahhhh, damn, I was running pretty good the last 4 days too, sort of emerging from a bad downswing. All that was wiped out in a short time today. Graph since Monday:

Well, enough focusing on the negative. Looking at that chart, it could be interpreted that I hit a double-short term downswing, two down lines connected together. So, it's just some bad, bad, variance. I should keep playing a solid game - eventually I'll get back on track and continue the trend in that long-term graph I posted a few days ago.

Bankroll: 393.13CDN, 317 BB's for FL .5/1

The Canadian dollar is rallying a bit against the USD so that a bit of a help - so is the $200 bonus Mansion gave me. $20 USD released so far.

Ohhhh good lord!!! Variance, friend or foe?

What a roller coaster ride the last couple of weeks!

So, yeah, wiped out the last ugly session plus some! And I got another $10 released from the bonus.

Stats for last session:
Hands Played: 218
Amount Won: $79.79 USD
BB/100: 36.60

Very happy to update the bankroll this time.

Bankroll: $518.72 CDN, 418 BB's for FL .5/1

A bit of a wild session today. First half was part bad play, part bad luck. Here's the graph.

Hehe, just managed to break even at the end of the hour.

Another thing is that I'm on track to reach platinum. If I can do it I'm not sure because I'll be pretty busy over the next month with finishing up school. No rush, really. I'll get there sometime in the coming months.

Time for an overall FL-SH .5/1 graph from iPoker.

Not much time for poker at the moment. I've played like 1.5 hours the last two days and don't expect to any more free time soon. Time to get my ass in gear and finish off school! I'm sure there are plenty of others here that are way to busy right now. Hmmmm, I think I should call this my last poker related thing until the weekend and just update the bankroll and get back to work.

Bankroll: $730.96 CDN, 580 BB's for FL-SH .5/1
Bonus: $90 of $200 Released in 14 days. Still have 1.5 months to clear so yeah, I'll make it.

Let's start off this one with the questionable play of the day. :P I'm not exactly proud on this one but I'll take it!!!

$0.5/$1 Limit Holdem
iPoker

Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG ($11.15)
UTG+1 ($20.85)
CO ($30.50)
BTN ($36.70)
SB ($48.44)
Hero (BB) ($29.00)
[CO posted $0.75]

Pre-flop: ($1.50, 6 players) Hero is BB T♦: 8♥:
UTG calls $0.50, UTG+1 calls $0.50, CO checks, 1 fold, SB raises to $1,

Hmmm... I think I'll be getting the right odds to stay in this one...

Hero calls $0.50, UTG calls $0.50, UTG+1 calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50

Flop: A♥: 8♠: 4♣: ($5.50, 5 players)
SB bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50, UTG calls $0.50, 1 fold, CO raises to $1, SB folds, Hero calls $0.50, UTG calls $0.50

Turn: K♣: ($9, 3 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, CO bets $1,

Hero makes an unusually long pause...

Hero calls $1, UTG calls $1

River: T♥: ($12, 3 players)

Whoopsie!!!

Hero checks, UTG checks, CO bets $1, Hero raises to $2, UTG folds, CO calls $1

Final Pot: $15
Hero shows: T♦: 8♥:
CO shows: A♠: 3♥:

Hero wins $15 ( won +$10 )
UTG lost -$3
UTG+1 lost -$1
CO lost -$5.25
SB lost -$1.50

I must look like a complete donk... fine with me!!! ;)

Finally got to play for a couple hours yesterday as I really should be spending a lot more time on school at the moment. Only thing is that instead of studying, I'm just farting around on the internet. So overall, I haven't put that much more time into studying. This I must fix!!!

Bankroll is growing nicely thank to the bonus.

Bankroll: $769.69 CDN, 627 BB's for FL-SH .5/1
Bonus: $100 of $200 released.

I haven't posted what my stats look like in a while. After that questionable play, I think it's a good idea.

Over the last 9055 hands...

VPIP: 22.5%
PFR: 16.3%
TAF: 2.14
WTSD: 36.5%

Alright, another video is born! Same format as the previous ones - casual, just talking about the hands as they come up, nothing too fancy.

I lost 12.57 BB's in 199 hands on this one. Some tough decisions that I had to make on the fly. Definitely made some mistakes. As always, comments are welcome.

"Fuck me to goddam tears!!!" - Tuff_Fish

This video pretty much sums up my experience over the few sessions.

(If someone knows how to embed a vid that would be great!)

Yep, Mansion has hit the doomswitch on me yet again, lousy buggers. Today's session was just horrible. Runner-runner flush beating my top two pair on the flop, straight flush beating my ace high flush on the river, hitting sweet fuck all over and over again, no action on my monster starting hands, etc.... just everything went wrong! I reviewed video of the session and it appears that I felt the need to insult a few players... the "Message Contains Forbidden Words!" message popped up a few times.

Downswing: 797 hands, -96.3 BB's ($96.30 USD), -12.08 BB/100.

Ahhh well, I've been running pretty good the last couple weeks with a winrate of 2.53 BB/100 over 9.5k hands the last 18 days, and collecting a bonus on top of that. These things will happen. I've been through it before and I've played over 40k hands of winning poker so I expect to get things back on track sometime... hopefully right after this damn post!

Alright, bankroll update.

Bankroll: $662.28 CDN, 534 BB for .5/1 SH.
Bonus: $110 of $200 cleared. Plenty of time to clear it.

Current goal is just to keep improving while playing winning poker. No rush to get to $1/2 really - it's not like I have a crazy winrate of 4BB/100 + or something. Still plenty of room to improve at my current limit.

I had another losing session after the one I mentioned in the last post that had me down 135 BB's in total over 5 sessions. But today I finally won one!

Hands: 251
Amount Won: $16.40 (16.4 BB's)
BB/100: 6.53

Nothing spectacular but it feels great to win one. And now the questionable play of the day.

$0.5/$1 Limit Holdem
4 players

Stacks:
CO ($11.95)
BTN ($32.75)
SB ($40.10)
Hero (BB) ($12.75)

Pre-flop: ($0.75, 4 players) Hero is BB T♦: J♥:
CO raises to $1, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.50

Flop: 7♣: T♣: 9♣: ($2.25, 2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.50, Hero raises to $1, CO raises to $1.50, Hero calls $0.50

Ohhh damn I don't like the looks of this...

Turn: 8♣: ($5.75, 2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks

Wha???

River: 6♣: ($5.75, 2 players)

Meh, I don't think a bet could hurt me here...

Hero bets $1, CO folds

Final Pot: $6

Hero wins $6 ( won +$2.50 )
CO lost -$2.50

Guess he was scared of the J :club: I had time to check off auto-muck and show it too. :P

ciRith did a really good job reviewing two of my videos. Here is the thread where the comments were posted if you haven't seen them already:
