Hello

It's been a while since I posted/updated the blog, I decided to keep it 'quiet' until I decide where I want to keep with my poker 'career' and with this blog. Currently, I'm not sure what I am going to do with my blog. You may be wondering 'what is he talking about', and the reason is simple.

I decided to stop playing STT's as I found myself getting bored quite quickly and upon that I found myself passive tilting when I play set-sessions, I can play 6 tables for 40 minutes just to see myself bubbling out by suckout or often running into better hands, which is quite standard, I know. Most of the time I was break even, sometimes down sometimes a bit up, but mostly break even, the only profit was the rakeback I received at Fridays. At the time, I decided that I need a break asap! I didn't know what would I do when I'd stop, I was thinking about not playing poker at all, or playing the 45mans sngs, or going back to HUsng, but surprisingly I decided to play Cash game for a while.

It is not a secret that people are known to change their minds, thoughts, decisions etc..etc.. and apparently so did I :f_cool:

At first, I was not sure whether I want to play cashgame only for few days until I'll feel like going back to sngs or it'll be permanent. I have some ideas in my head, options and goals, such as;
- Play cash until I reach a BR for higher limit SnGs ( I think more of MT SnGs than STTs )
- Keep playing and mixing between sngs and cash ( not a good idea for now )
- Play cash and when I reach higher BR, and learn HUNL/ HUsng
- Play cash, and stay there forevah :)

Anyway, since I already writing this post, I'll share my progress at NL BSS cashgame.

Rush Poker , only 3 sessions :

Quick update

Hello, I didn't play poker all day because I had some arrangements and studies, I got home at 10:00p.m from studies and wasn't very concentrated after 5hours of studies :), Although, I decided to play some poker :f_cool:

Only in 400hands in Rush NL5, I ran pretty bad and although I shouldn't judge results over such a small sample in a session, I just felt like I better not play RushPoker today. I lost approximately 14$ in those 400hands, I stopped and since I didn't want to play Rush for today, I decided that I finally want to give Short-handed game a shot, so I played like 500hands NL2 SH 4tabling, recovered about 8$ and declared it a day :)

I felt pretty bad after losing 2stacks in Rush. First one was 3way pot, I had QQ, 9T3, we got allin, turn came Q, river 8, opps showed AA and QJ, the QJ dude had a flushdraw too, probably what made him to call the Allin.

Second stack was because I was greedy ^_^, AQs, Q64flop, I bet, guy reraises big, I shove, he shows 44. Maybe it wasn't that bad line - what made me feel bad is that I didn't think much about my play at the moment, and just wanted to get it in.

The session looked like this :

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I aim for at least 1.5k hands per day, unfortunately didn't reach 1k today.
Other than that, I'm pretty confident about my game at NL5 FR Rush, However, I don't feel very confident at SH.

So for today, short-term goals ;
:spade: Keep positive EV line.
:spade: Learn more about SH game before I even think about Rush SH
:spade: At least 1.5k hands/a day (I'm pretty sure I'll make it about 2k hands per day)
:spade: Beat NL5 !

Current BR : 136$

Hello guys, a quick update. I've been studying most of the day and only played 1 session, which ended just few minutes ago. It was a horrible session, very sick session.

My last 3 session in NL5 Rush;
1) 480hands, -14$
2) 1,700hands, -8.4$
3) 1,620hands, -12.8$ ( Today )

This is just horrible ! I won't play rush until I'll build my confidence again, or precisely until I build my BR back where I'll feel safe to play NL5 Rush.
When I started the nl5 rush, it was amazing how I won fishes' stacks, and now apparently I'm stacking them back.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

How last session affected me ?
- I know badbeats happen in rush, non-rush games too, but when I opened H'EM after the session and saw the results of nl5rush, and compared them to nl2, I didn't want to play rush anymore :f_frown: Mostly when I get lucky to get some action with good hands, it's mostly the shortstacks, and when I run into better hands, it's usually the big stacks.

I am not sure what I will do next, probably drop down to 8-14tabling NL2 FR.

What do you guys say ? Any tips ? Don't be shy, say your thoughts :f_cool:

Okay, I'm off to bed now, need to rest before tomorrow's exams.
Be well.

Hello guys, this is Not an update, I just want to post a hand that I had right before I finished my session at NL2 .
I started a session with 12tables, but my inet just cudn't handle it and I got timed out few times which caused me to reduce to 10 and eventually to 8tables.
All in all, I'm very comfortable multi tabling NL2, I will play NL2 when I'll reach BR higher than 140$.

Anyway here is a hand, I'm pretty much sure my call on the river was okay because villain is very loose fish who might have anything there ;\

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Full Tilt
SB ($0.78)
BB ($1.92)
UTG ($0.85)
UTG+1 ($1.97)
UTG+2 ($2.17)
Hero ($2.93)
CO ($2.14)
BTN ($2.16)

Dealt to Hero A♣ K♥

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.08, fold, BTN calls $0.08, fold, fold

FLOP ($0.19) 5♣ 4♦ 7♠

Hero bets $0.12, BTN calls $0.12

TURN ($0.43) 5♣ 4♦ 7♠ A♠

Hero bets $0.10, BTN calls $0.10

RIVER ($0.63) 5♣ 4♦ 7♠ A♠ Q♥

Hero bets $0.25, BTN raises to $1.86 (AI), Hero calls $1.61

Hero shows A♣ K♥
(Pre 43%, Flop 27.2%, Turn 95.5%)

BTN shows Q♣ Q♠
(Pre 57%, Flop 72.8%, Turn 4.5%)

BTN wins $4.06

villain was 37/2 VPIP PFR over a very small 100hands sample
I'd never suspect him slowrolling queens there, I was afraid he might hold AQ at worse scenario ..

Any thoughts ?

Why back off on the turn? I mean you get top pair but there is a flush draw and it seems too late to slow play even a top pair A, also he is cold calling you on all streets until the river so he either has a made hand or is waiting on a community card. It seems better to invest in some protection on the turn with the top pair so he either gives up the pot or at least you can get an idea how strong his hand may be and give up on the river. He didn't reraise on the turn so probably not A with low kicker. As it we have no info what he is betting on the river 2 pair or set you're still worse of with TPTK. That being said I would call as it is too, he may just be donking after you showing weakness on the turn, bad situation really.

Hello guys, I barely played any poker yesterday because I was very tired after Friday's 'suomi trance' party :f_cool:

Today I played a set of 1.2k hands and made profit of 9$ at NL2, total BR is now : 145$ which means next set will be at NL5 ( no rush though ). I will probably play less tables than I usually play ( 10-13 nl2 tables) and play around 8 tables, when I'll be a little bit more safer with the BR, I'll be confident enough to increase the number of tables to 10+.

I post a graph of NL2, with total 10k hands this month.

Yeah, and this is how my day ended, pretty bad.

3 sessions, 1st one is posted above, 2nd was at NL5, 2k hands total -3$.
I lost 4 stacks with 4 pocket queens, twice ran into AJ who hit their aces on the river, and twice .vs pocket Aces. evil queens.
3rd session NL2 (12tables) really boring, no action, card dead for most of the session, was about to finish when I was -0.5$ but I got Aces last hand, and lost to A7s who hits trips on flop.
and I played few HUsngs, unfortunately didn't go so well and I lost.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I played about 4.5k hands ! which is way more than I expected.
My EV line isn't bad or negative and I'm happy about it.

Playing a session of NL5 at this moment, started very very well but it turned around very fast as well.

KQ flopping 2pairs on flop, run into flushes, Aces busted twice against sets.
AK with 2pairs ran like twice into sets too. in 700 hands only hitted set once which I had no action with, some ridiculous plays where fishes play with K2 .vs my AK and hit their 2pairs with 2 on river. they all keep completing their flushes/sets/2pairs on river .. it's annoying

This is just annoying, I crush the NL2, but I keep getting unlucky on NL5 constantly;\

and here's a hand which almost got me tilting mad ^_^

tilted some in end of session, ended up -21$ after 1.7k hands, played some very bad moves too EV line is negative as well.

I guess I go back to grinding NL2 again :\ frustrating to go up and down up and down.

Hello Sneaky, you have very nice blog in here.
Your line about keeping blog update and being more dicpilined really resonated with me, since am very very un disciplined and un organised person.
I will write that sentence in bold on my blog.
Am sorry about your downswing, but the best thing to do in those moments are devote less time to play and more time to actually study poker and learn new cool things.
Watching House is also cool :)

Stay cool amigo and am staying tuned

Okay, so yday I finished with a downswing that basically ate all my profit, after the -20$ I played NL2, I was 10$ profit but it turned around to -10$, and I decided to take a brake, and today I'll only play enough for the FPPS for IronMan qualification, other than that I study for my exams for most of the day and I'll also watch some poker vids I dl'ed from bestpokertorrents and maybe read some articles here on PS.com, but mostly I want to review my hands at NL5 session because I think I definitely let myself play 'blind' sometimes. There is a difference between NL2 and NL5, on NL2 they can call with air all way long, and not with A high, with ridiculous hands that go no showdown value at all, and here is an example where I underestimated my opp and played like a blind donk.

Hand #1;

Anyway, I decide to take Sin's advice and take a little break from poker to improve my game as much as I can and cover some leaks. Meanwhile, I'm going to watch a new T.V Serie - Private Practice which is a spin-off of Grey's Anatomy, I also watch House, what can I do I just love Medical Dramas :)

Hey man, glad at least someone on this board listens to me :).
Yeah there is rorlsh who plays better than me and sometimes jb whos better too.
Dedicate some more time to study and am sure your game will sky rocket soon.
If you are gonna go for SH carrer I suggest you to watch Verneers Crushing the micros series, which is really really awesome for start.
And we can sweat sometimes too, I mean am playin everyday so just drop me a line.

I wish you all the best and keep improving.

Hello guys, it's been a while :)

So I watched some vids, I reviewed some hands and I worked on my mindset which was as important as improving my game.

I felt comfortable enough to play few sessions on Shorthanded tables, The main thing I struggle in SH compare to FR is that I only have 4-5tables open and although it's faster action, it is nothing compare to 16tables ...

Other than that, I sometimes miss spots when I'm on the BB vs SB with a decent hand like JTs, A9s (examples), the SB completes and I check, or SB bets 3bbs and I think I can 3bet/call in these spots.

I should not get used specifically to NL2 SH because imo the players at NL5 are slightly better, on NL2 there are just so many bad plrs that make ridiculous moves nonstop :)

* Only NL2 graph *

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Current BR : 140$

Yeah back to 140$ !!!
I think I will keep playing the NL2 FR/SH untill I hit 145-150$ just to feel more confident about it, so even if I'll have a bad session at NL5 I won't feel bad about it.

Progress;
:spade: Play at least 1.5k hands per day ( I was reaching 2k-3.5k on FR, I think 1k SH, I think it's somewhere even, 1k hands ; 2.5k hands is sorta equal ratio, 1;2.5 )
:spade: I watch instructional videos of 2 different series ( Verneer from CR, Crushing the micros and vid series about mindset mainly )
:spade: Poker mindset improved, However, it's hard to balance because of pressure in the RL side. I quit my old job and I have to find a new job that will fit my studies schedules , oh and studies are exhausting !

Okay this is it guys, I'm very tired, it's been a long exhausting study day ;\
All my friends hang out this night but I decided that it would be too much for me :f_cool: ( Yeah I'm weak and I'm getting older )

Hello, quick update fellas ;

I just had a quick session of 4tables of just 360hands and I made 11$ profit, yeah kinda sick session !

Currently my bankroll stand on 151$, and it is time to go to NL5!

I need to prepare myself and be ready to play a bit more cautious than I've played on NL2, tho there are many fishes at NL5 as well I'm sure !

Cya !

Hello guys, it's time for update but since I feel very tired I'll just post some results.

After I hit the 150$ mark I played NL5 SH and first session was good what encouraged me to play even more NL5 SH and Shorthanded at all regarding the fact I didn't really like SH ^_^.

So, Today I had few sessions, 1 went well and last one was kinda lame.

The first session I played 470hands 4tabling, made profit of 15$ (14$ in EV), and the last session which ended 20minutes ago, I played 1 hour longer than previous session, played 890hands, -6$ (+6$ in EV)

The session was kinda boring, I wasn't getting lot of good hands and when I had, mostly everyone folded, all in all boring session because of table selection, although there was one table with 2 fishes, unfortunately I lost 2 stacks to fish who got lucky twice. Here is the first time ;

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (6 handed) - Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

CO ($5.30)
Button ($4.02)
SB ($4.70)
Hero (BB) ($5.07)
UTG ($11.35)
MP ($6.90)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, 10
UTG calls $0.05, 1 fold, CO calls $0.05, Button calls $0.05, 1 fold, Hero checks

Flop: ($0.22) 7, K, 6 (4 players)
Hero bets $0.15, 2 folds, Button calls $0.15

Turn: ($0.52) 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.35, Button raises to $0.70, Hero raises to $1.40, Button raises to $3.82 (All-In), Hero calls $2.42

River: ($8.16) 6 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $8.16 | Rake: $0.54

Results:
Button had 7, 8 (full house, sevens over sixes).
Hero had J, 10 (flush, King high).
Outcome: Button won $7.62

It was in the very beginning of the session, this suckout didn't affect me anyhow, In a way I was happy that I spotted a fish in my table.. but later on we got All-in preflop QQ .vs AK and turn gave him Ace.
In the end of the session I started making terrible calls and moves and I think a reg noticed it and started to put me in tough decisions sometimes, I wasn' thinking clearly so I decided to stop before I make it a very bad session :)

Quick update fellaz, I passed the 200$ mark! hurray !

I had a session few hours ago at NL5, and at first I was disappointed because I couldn't find good enough tables, is it like that at NL5+ everywhere? is it like that only at NL5 FTP ? I don't know, but some plrs tell me that there are even more fishes at NL10/25, is that true ?
Anyway, so I wandered between tables, won some, lost some but at last I found few tables that lasted pretty long (80+hands lol), I insta note plrs with very high vpip even if I haven't seen them do crazy moves.

I was about b/e all session and near the end of the session I sucked out in 3way allin pot which made most profit of the session.

At the end of the session I checked results and profit was 14$, but EV 0$ .

Here is the hand : :f_cool:

Turn: Q♠ ($2, 3 players)

River: J♣ ($18.20, 3 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: $18.20
blackkite1 shows
K♣ K♥
FuinhaNinjer shows
A♠ Q♥
Hero shows
J♠ Q♣

Hero wins $16.99 (net +$10.59)

FuinhaNinjer collects $0.00 (net -$6.40)
blackkite1 lost $5.20
dogrex lost $0.15

My thoughts were funny when I was trying to read what FuinhaNinjer might hold because he seemed pretty solid, but I just didn't want to believe he might be holding AQ,KQ there, and when he showed AQ I laughed so hard :)

This is it for now, I don't play much poker lately as I don't have time because of the studies. It is very pressuring with the studies and everything else, but I hope I'll manage to deal with it all just fine.

I wonder and hesitate 'bout when I should start shooting at NL10, now? when I reach 25BI ? 30BI ? Don't know . . .

Goodnight friends, Be well.

A little update before I go to sleep disappointed by my session :(

so there was good news before this session happened :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin:
I reached 250$ BR ! so I decided it's time to shoot NL10.

I failed, I failed big time !

At the start of the session, I got 3way pot ai pre, with KK .vs QQ .vs AA and lost the stack. later I won it back and some more, then I lost again and won again and lost again and won again blah blah blah .. I checked results in the middle of the session ( hate myself for that lol ) and I was about b/e at the moment and I noticed my EV is soooooo negative I wanted to puke on myself, -10$EV.

at some point, close to the end of the session I was something like +4$ and I didn't stop because there were really looose fishes at the tables. Unfortunately this greediness cost me much more :(

Finished session, results : 136minutes, 856hands, USD: -18$, EV: -35$ ( ?!?!?! )

I will review some hands tomorrow. I understand I played really bad to make such bad results, but I don't know exactly why it ALWAYS happens when I go higher limit... I was thinking maybe it's because the blinds and the betting sizes are different ? but I should've get used to it.. maybe it's because I'm excited or sth ? freaking don't know!

I can add 1 thing about NL10. It's very very fishy there! almost every table has loose weird crazy players unlike NL5 which was more full with nits and tags...

:spade: I won't play NL10 tomorrow, I will play NL5 until I'll build a BR around 250-280$

Guys, those of you who been through similar crap, any thoughts/suggestions please ? how to set yourself before/when you move a limit higher ?

k, no quotes now, I'm tired and very disappointed ..

BTW, switch off the All-in EV line, it can be very deceptive. It will only tilt you, it won't help you improve your play!

What's up ? Update . . .

After my try at NL10 for some reason I started to play bad most of the time. I don't know what is the direct influence on my play but it happened before and I passed through with a 1 day break.
I am very tempted to play because every time I think about taking a break, I have this thoughts processing in my mind and I'm convincing myself that I am able to play A-game now, so I should just go and play :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin:

Recently I contacted an Israeli poker player through skype, I know him for years but we weren't in touch for so long. Anyway, he offered to stake me for NL25 for a 50/50 deal and I turned him down as I am not sure I am capable of beating NL25, too bad he is not a coach too :f_cool:
I saw some stake/coach deal offers in this forum by some of the great coaches (Gerv, superiyo) but I'm pretty sure I won't qualify as I only have a 1 month sample in Cash Games.

Yeah, so yesterday I had this horrible session where I lost 23$ which is 4.5BI for my limit, it's not that horrible in terms of money because what 4BIs are for a winning player? no biggie. but it was horrible because how I let myself to play at the session. Of course I lost few stacks running into better hands, set over set, and hitting 2pairs on flop but opp's hitting their str8s/flushes/fh on turn;river.

Okay, so I am gonna post a graph since the month is almost over, I am not including Rush Poker sessions in it but I add the fail session at NL10.

Not poker related -

Finally a technician from my ISP came over and fixed my connection issues that caused some disconnect issues and some other issues.
Yesterday I wanted to sweat with someone over Mikogo, but my lame connection didn't allow us to

Beside that, I had a job interview yesterday and it went pretty good!
I told her (she's a girl) that I play poker and make millions, and she wanted to hire me right away!!
nahh I'm kidding ...
The job is about helping people who struggle with mental illnesses and can't manage to live a normal life by their own, isolating themselves from the society and so on. My *patient* is a 53y/o man who diagnosed with schizophrenia who has no family around and is completely isolated in himself, he's not crazy crazy type guy (otherwise he'd be hospitalized), he's a kind man who can have a good conversation. I am looking forward to meet this man and help him as much as I can.

Other than that, I have shitloads of studying which is exhausting :)
I manage to balance my real life between everything, between studies, poker etc.etc.. I don't go to gym or something, but I have a lovely dog ( Golden Retriever ) and almost everyday we go out for a run together, so that's pretty much a great exercise, and exercise are good pressure unloader ( is there even such word 'pressure unloader' ? )

Okay, so I wish you all to have a good week a good luck in whatevah you do ;)

Be Well,
Boris.
