taavi, what range are you playing atm? doesnt feel that playing the SHC could possibly work.. but on most of your posted hands you are mostly doing the chart thing...

Follow the SHC at the beginning! It is a must.

I personally like to isolate fish looser than the chart says, for example any Ax seems to be good from the button. Depends on the situation, though. I also loosen up with suited connectors, both isolating and open raising. I think this becomes pretty standard among players with some experience.

Why not? NL BSS is too hard at the beginning I guess, SnG's require too much time and stable connection. And I think FL is very easy to beat at the micro stakes.

Thanks for the replies! They keep my blog alive :f_grin:

Because you are just torturing yourself by chickening out to put some time in playing/learning a serious version of the game!

Before Waiboy comes over to kill me while I'm asleep: I also play FL, but it's hard, I think FL players are more men _evil:

NL HE is the mainstream version of poker. Mainstream is not cool as we all know.

Keep spamming! You still can't beat my flopped royal: taavi1337 - noob learning FL :f_biggrin:

Played the Iron Man Silver $15k freeroll. I was 100% concentrated, observed every hand at my table. No three FL tables around . Finished in 180th place, the first one after bubble when I called a push with AQs vs 87s for 5 bb. Hehe. $37.50 is a nice cash though, like 1/30 of my BR.

Poker just makes me sick. I need it to be fun so that I would be motivated for The Serious Summer Grind. Maybe Cornholio's coaching tonight will fix this.

"To play FL SH you have to learn to LOVE pain, pure soul-stripping pain. There's gonna be times you'll be so sick to your stomach and feel so empty you'll wana break the nearest bottle and stab yourself just to feel something (TerrorBlade)"

CoreySteel's signature.

So true. I have learned to love pain. Vital skill for FL SH. What is that so-called success? Can't remember.

This might sound miserable, but actually it isn't. I love poker.

Now I have a new strategy, it is the first day I applied it. I woke up at 5 AM, ran like 6 km, went for a swim in the lake and grinded for 2.5 hours. The tables were VERY fishy until now, I just ended my session. Lots of huge fishes, including Waiboy. I even played HU against him and bluffed him hard.

At 01:30 ET Eastern American and NZ fishes go to sleep and are replaced by German TAGs, who have just waken up. I have to get up earlier tomorrow _cool:

pwned:

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Flop: (4 SB) 9:h, 2:d, 9:s (2 players)
taavi1337 checks, Waiboy bets, taavi1337 raises, Waiboy calls.

Turn: (4 BB) 4:s (2 players)
taavi1337 bets, Waiboy calls.

River: (6 BB) J:h (2 players)
taavi1337 bets, Waiboy folds, taavi1337 gets uncalled bet back.

Nice spew, i love having opponents who play like this HU. His river fold was pure luck for you and will hapen 1 in 50 times on a given board when he calls turn.

Woke up again at 5 AM, this time it wasn't worth it (pokerwise). Real fish came to the tables 6 hours later _love:. I'm planning to use the Mid-Year Bonus to move up to 1/2 or hopefully 3/6. You see, I've decided to run good in July.

I just filtered PokerTracker to show my FL SH 1/2 and 0.5/1 overall progress and it appears that I have lost 600 BB in the last 23k hands. Way to go! :f_biggrin:
