1st, graph for the month

I had a couple of bad days towards the end. Wednesdays was full of coolers and last night had a few setups. (KK vs AA twice, AA vs KK in a big pot AI pre and K on flop and AK vs KK vs aggro player) but decent month over all.

I also won a biggish pot last night by sucking out on a maniac with J9 on J high flop by 4 bet shoving, turned out it had AA but I hit a runner runner straight so it's not all bad.

I managed to play over 30k hands which is pretty good given my lifestyle and the speed of PKR

tonight is tournament night but so far it's not going great...

only one still running.

I am ending the stake from work tonight and will withdraw 50% of it to repay the backers.

When I get my rakeback I will withdraw (hopefully providing there is enough) a further $800 (or about there) to repay some debt. and will play what every limit I can afford with what I am left with.

I pan to take September easy on the poker side and finally I am starting a new job on the 16th

Noticed that you play cash on PKR, so I'm coming here with a question. Could you compare the player pool of PKR to the one of Stars?

I'm kind of contemplating whether I should stay at stars or switch to softer rooms (according to people) like PKR or 888. So I'm looking for opinions.

PKR is damn soft but you must be able to handle the software. The game are damn slow and the tables are of different size and different colours. You cannot open more than 9 tables and I find it hard to play more than 6. Most regs hate PKR but try it and see if you like it.

2 more days at my current job and starting the new one on Monday.

Having withdrawn about $1200 this month from poker to repay some debt and pay off a stake I had at work (which ended up with a 10 fold profit btw ♠_biggrin: ) I had to go down in stake one more time, at the bottom of NL25 and will get back up again.

Next plan is to move up to Bristol / Bath with the family, ideally by the end of the year. By my calculation that means saving approximately £3K by then. It is not gonna be easy but it is possible. I gonna try to get 1/3 of this through poker which is about $1.6K.

On Friday a big party is planned for my leaving due. (and 2 others that are leaving as well). I think it should be epic.

At the moment in the office there are a lot of nerf guns and battles are happening every day! cool

I will definitely miss the people there.

Well, last day today and I am feeling a bit emotional. It is definitely a fantastic group of people working there and a brilliant atmosphere. I will miss the place and the people.

Poker: the last couple of days, variance has again been pretty harsh on me and I am about 5BI down for the month with an already very very tight BR. I have reviewed my game and I am really happy with it, exploiting more spots than ever.

A break from poker tonight and getting drunk instead will definitely be a good change.

Long time since last update and a lot has happened since.

First of all epic party was epic. I had a great fun and got completely plastered.

I started my new job on Monday and I am now head of IT development at Digital Box in Bath. More or less the same focus on PHP programming and database administration, and since it is what I do and love things will go well. The team there is much smaller than the former job with us been about 10. I have only been there a week but everyone seem very nice and I think I will fit right in. I am the oldest there and next week will get myself some nerf guns so they know who they are dealing with

I had a few drinks with my new boss and a colleague on Friday and ended up drinking way too much again to a point where my boss offered me to stay over and crash on his sofa. (good first impression ) To be fair the boss was very drunk as well.

I am planning to change my lifestyle quite a bit. I did this a while ago but it did not last so I will give it another go.

So:

- No more smoking
- Some exercise everyday
- stop eating fast food
- eat regularly and 3 meals a day

all this starting now!

Poker:

I have played very very little this month. I have been very busy finishing and ending over my previous job and getting accustomed to the new one. I know have a short train travel journey to get to and from my new job taking a bit of time away from my available time. And I also suffered a terrible toothache that lasted just over a week and was I think a wisdom tooth growing out. However at the beginning of the month I did say that I
was anticipating very little play this month a would only target 10k hands. Well I have already reached that target but I have run pretty bad some days so results are not brilliant so far.

I wanted to do database management but had to learn a load of other stuff I wasn't interested in along side it which bored me and the delivery of the course was even more boring.

New job sounds like it might be fun as a small team.

Take it from a pro, not smoking will change your life and your mind and just go for 30 minutes or so of light exercise to start; say a nice walk anywhere will do.

they removed all the $ tables on ipoker so I vented and huffed adn puffed. took a break and played so speed poker.

I still need to fix the windows issue to be able to get a hud but apart from that it looks like I will get back to CG through speed. shame it's euro tables. I just have to convert every time my roll to make sure I stay on BRM....

I probably will see if I can get a stake at work and play some NL50. otherwise I might apply here and see.

IRL, I am keeping on all my new resolutions target so far and have added a few new ones.
