Epic read, love your journey!

I looked at ChipEV for Wizard with the TT and oh boy
preflop - what's going on here with the calls - do you play anywhere close to this? I assume since he is tight we can just 4bet the strong hands right? The 3 bet is pretty big in wizard mind you 9.2-2.3

Spoiler

This is villains flop strategy

Spoiler

Flop vs 25%

Spoiler

turn vs 50%

Spoiler

Turn it just stacks off

I am reading Dara and Barry's Beyond GTO Now - they say nobody plays close to GTO and it seems very true looking at this hand - I take it the way actual play differs big time in real life - a young Chinese player who was not very aggressive preflop is nowhere near that + With ICM the villain should have a lot of the crappy offuit hands shaved off his range I assume and be much stronger?

Do you think it's a jam because unlike the solve he will much more weighted towards broadway overs, i.e. bluffing hands have 2overs much more often you don't want him to realize equity with?

Why is studying MTT such a damn mess :f_biggrin:

Thanks for analysis Lemon :f_drink:

Have to agree, poker is a very complex game :f_biggrin: As strange as it sounds, I like jaming flop for reducing the variance. There is half of the deck that I don't like on the Turn and I don't feel too happy stacking off when the Turn brings a King :f_eek: If I run into overpair, then let it be, but as you say, there are plenty of broadway cards in opponent's range that I am happy to deny equity.

Bankroll Challenge 2024
Week 9

Starting bankroll 10 000€

Current Bankroll 16 309€

Weekly loses -281€
Goal Bankroll 60 000€

Can't find my form online although had one big run in $88 event on Sunday. Probably the toughest Final Table in my career, all opponents with huge earnings, so I had to count on a good rush of cards. Unfortunately had to take exit in 8th position :f_ugly:

If only my Red Aces would have held, not only I would have gotten a direct payjump, but would have a very good chance for a Top3 :f_ugly:

Two months passed already and we enter the season of flowers - Spring. It is still a little cold in Lithuania, so it is a good time to head into south. Where exactly? Let's look at my first goal of the year :f_cool:

1. Have 10 trips outside Lithuania, at least 1 country new to me
February - Paris, France FPS
March - Rozvadov & Madrid

After winning Power Path at Pokerstars and deciding for which festival to use it from options Rozvadov, Madrid and Dublin, next week I won to satellites to Rozvadov and Madrid, so my selection ended up with no considerations. Little sad to miss Irish Open, but that means I will spend my the Easter Sunday at home with family :f_love: And this is a fresh photo from our trip in Paris :f_cool:

2. Extend Trophy board or ship Major MTT online event
I could count WSOPC Series event as a Major, but unfortunately Final Table is not enough.

3. Reach Final Table in Sunday Million, GG Masters or any 1 Million Guaranteed event
No deep runs in those tournaments, also barely reaching ITM last month :f_confused:

4. Study poker 360 hours
January - 56 hours
February - 40 hours

Little less than January but still very good number. Usually my hours drop when I start travelling for Live Events so there is some threat for next month :f_eek:

5. Experience of 10 educational trails in Lithuania
Silenai Hiking Trail
Ribiškių Educational Trail

Last year we've been in Ribiskes with our friends, this year me and wife visited trail in different season and different route. Fascinating to see how the nature changes in different times of the year!

Last year-->

6. Foster our Homestead
We are in direct talks with the government for paving a path to our homestead. Looks like it is going to be long and expensive process, but while we are doing that, another plan appeared.. I've contacted older farmer whose land is bordering with ours with a proposal to buy it from him. His response was that he was trying to sell for some time but unsuccessfully :f_ugly: If we could debate a reasonable price, not only I would increase our land area, but our road would decrease a lot, avoiding some bends, hills and downhills. Win win win for everyone. Meanwhile I will leave you guessing, which animal skeleton I found in my area? :f_eek:

7. Reach 65k XPoints Total on French Duolingo

February challenge completed with 57503XP Total

8. Help Top Kickers team avoid relegation and have 10 attacking returns
Pre-season starts this month with first league game set around in 40 days.

9. Read 12 books
Tim Marshall - Prisoners of Geography
Mark Galeotti - A Field Guide to the New Way of War

A book about modern wars, but not in a standard way. Now a computer mouse is more powerful than a sword as traditional wars get too expensive. You can achieve your goals with less resources, both financial and human, if operated smartly. Difficult to object :f_eek:

10. Complete 10 Bucket List activities
Take part in Formula-1 weekend
Watch Live reputable football match in a stadium
Listen to a famous Concert
Listen to Live Opera
Attend a music Festival
Watch a performance in Theatre
Witness one of the new World Wonders
Set eyes on the Nature Wonder
Experience Sauna procedures
Organize outdoors event for friends

No green color on activities but Formula-1 Hungaroring Race tickets already in pocket :f_thumbsup:

Once again not the best week overall. Hovewer, I got 2 additional tickets for Live events so in theory it was a profitable week :f_ugly:

Tomorrow I start my trip to Rozvadov for Eureka event. Last year the field was huge, I guess some records for participants might get broken again. I have 3 bullets at least for this event, but hopefully one will be enough for a deep run :f_drink:

How's it looking Mantelo - will you go through Prague on the way back? :)

Looking at the picture of the skull, it must be a carnivore. Given that in the baltics that could be probably a fox as a wild animal, or a dog.
PS: what can I win?

Hi, I'm only a passenger in the car and I doubt you would want to do an interview at 5 a.m. 😅

Well, you can guess from my tired face that I had a deep run in Rozvadov :f_biggrin: 36th from 1526 runners, not far away from the last day and the Final Table. Had to use 2 bullets for this tournament, as my first attempt was very quick after A♣:J♣: didn't hold against K♠:Q♦: preflop. But my re-entry was much more successful and I cruised to day2 with average stack. Not many well known players overall in the festival, but I had William Kassouf on my right for much of the day. He was as talkative as expected but not as annoying as expected :f_biggrin:
On day2 I had a good start again, caught table chipleaders in couple of levels but my chips vanished once 4 tables were left. On the Button I shoved my remaining 7 BB with K♦:7♠: and got galled by both blinds with identical hands of :Ax: :9x:. Not the worst spot to triple up, but Ace on the flop gave very little hope.
I'm still very happy with my play and I hope I can continue my form this week in Madrid Estrella. One day to repack my luggage and off to the Spain :f_thumbsup:

Damn, awesome score! How did you like Rozvadov ? Is it just a casino and two trees? I'll be going there next month for Slovenian poker tour:D

Lots of chickens and cows also 😅 the place for poker is good, on the border of Germany, which provides lots of recreational players. But must admit that overall experience was better last year.

Good day grinders :f_thumbsup:
Back from Madrid with no good results :f_ugly: Bricked the Main Event and couple of side events, and that reflects in my bankroll challenge. Went into Day2 for the Main Event, but Estrella unlike Eureka is not ITM yet, so there was still some play before bubble burst. I had around 25BB stack before I was dealt K♦:T♦: in the Cutoff facing a raise from MP. All options possible but I decided to go with a 3bet to 5,4BB which was met with a call by opponent. I cbet a good looking board of T♣:7♠:3♥: and jam once a safe Turn of 5♠: appears. Villain goes into tank for about 3 minutes and then I start wondering, there is a small chance of him holding J♣:J♠: . Which happened to be truth :f_confused:
For side events, busted all of them very close to the money:
* 3 players left and my 10BB openjam from SB A♣:T♣: gets called by Big blinds A♦:K♠:
*5 players left and my 20BB jam with T♣:9♣: on K♦:8♣:7♣: gets called by Q♣:J♣: (Rivers bigger flush)
*some players left and my 15BB Iso/jam with Q♦:J♦: gets called by 9♦:6♠: (because of the Bounty)

Not the most impressive trip of my life, but happy with my game overall. Now time to back to online grind :sfishy:

A nice week with one standing win :f_thumbsup:

As usually, Bounty Prize is double the Regular prize, once more reminding how important it is to win Heads-up stage in Bounty Tournaments :f_ugly:

Tried some satellites for EPT Monaco, PokerStars Namur and WSOP Main Event but bricked them all. I'm still on Day2 of PokerStars Anniversary Sunday Million, but only double the starting stack and plenty of game before it reaches ITM. Wouldn't mind couple of early double ups :f_cool:
