Well, I'm mostly glad that you upgraded your choice of sports team. Yankees?? Seriously? Dortmund is much more like it. :f_thumbsup:

Besides, you don't have to rely on thin vertical stripes on your shirt anymore to look slim. :f_wink: I actually have an old Pakistan cricket jersey somewhere, now that one isn't very flattering for my figure, with its big crescent around the belly. :f_ugly:

I hope you had a great Christmas, and don't sweat it - it's the one time of the year where it is perfectly acceptable to have some more food and drinks than usual. And it looks like you still made it out of there in good shape.

January turned into February pretty fast this year - it's always an exciting month in this house as we have a birthday and a wedding anniversary towards the end of the month.

Started the year at 10st 11.5 lbs (the expected Xmas gain was not as bad as I had thought)

On Feb 1st, I was back at 10st 8.5 lbs so I am maintaining well without tracking or exercising - just keeping up my good food habits :)

Hope everyone is doing good.

Just the other day, I found myself wondering how you are getting along in the new year, I probably would have dropped you a few lines soon.

I kind of had the opposite feeling about January, I felt like it kept dragging on.

If you are still looking to add some exercises to your good food habits, I'm currently doing a Pushups Challenge on my new blog, following the same program that I once linked in your blog last year. I'm already in the middle of it, but feel free to play along - I plan to add a brand new challenge tomorrow too.

Keep up the good work with the weight loss.

I guess we will go with monthly updates from now on lol

I lost 2.5 lbs this month and came in at 10st 6 on March 1st. Not trying to actively lose anything here as I'm not exercising at all, nor counting calories at this point. Just eating what I feel is about 2K cals per day which gets me at near enough maintenance levels.

I'm thinking from April to start building some muscle before my hols in June. The likelihood is that it won't happen because I cannot be arsed but I'm at least threatening it!

I'm beginning to play some poker tournaments on partypoker, will see how long that lasts, a couple of ITMs yesterday out of 3 events.

A rare poker update!

Won entry to a €5 Mystery Bounty event on iPoker at the weekend.

Unfortunately, it was only with 20BBs and I didn't get the opportunity to play for a bounty in Day 2.

Nevertheless, I managed a 3x buyin profit.

This weekend sees a rare opportunity to grind some MTTs as the family are away.

Will have the house to myself from Saturday to Wednesday so it will be old times!

Nice — don't waste it all on poker!

That's to bad Sunday didn't worked out. It's still going well with you're weight challenge?

Indeed, thanks for asking.

146.5lbs (66.45kg) on the last weigh-in which was April 1st (Easter Monday) so after a heavy dinner the previous day and copious amounts of easter treats and chocolate.

My lowest in the last month would have been 144 lbs (65.3kg) somewhere in the middle of March.

Still below the 147lbs target but would ideally like to be 143-144lbs by my 40th birthday in September.

Ooops, been busy, appreciate the reminder.

Reached lowest point of 10st 2.5 a few weeks back but I've moved the dial back up due to recent outings. 10st 5 last I checked.

Beginning to slowly get out of the habit of weighing because I know if I continue to eat well I'll be OK.

Hope everyone is doing good.

When we returned from Mexico in April, I was appalled to find I had ballooned to 85.5kg (182 lbs, 13st).
Then a few days later I noticed that the 0-point had shifted, and when re-set correctly I was at only 77kg (170 lbs, 12 st 2)

Yeah, mine is digital (thankfully)

Also, allow some gains when on hols buddy :) Most of it will be water weight or carbs you'll steady burn through in the aftermath.

Hope the poker streets are treating you well?

Any big plans for the summer? :f_grin: I know I have plenty... but what about you?

Just back from a holoday in Greece - we went to same hotel as last year in Rhodes and had another enjoyable time!

Went a month earlier than last year due to the temperatures hitting 40+, we were expecting mid 20s but it didn't dip below 30 at any stage - we just love getting smoked whilst there!

I think the kids would go back tomorrow morning but I think we will find a new destination for next year. We love the location but there's more of this world to explore.

I've been getting the hankering for live poker and found some events local to me that run a tournament every month. Planning to play the next one (missed the latest one as it ran on the week we were away!)

What are your plans bud?

Sounds fantastic. :f_grin: Though it seems like everyone but me gets the sunny weather. :f_biggrin: Even Vorpal comments about hot, sunny days at his place. Over here, it has been pretty rainy and cloudy overall recently, with only occasional bits of sunshine and humid heat at best. Certainly not a lot of "summer feeling" so far - but I heard that we are going to get plenty of sunny days next week too.

Mostly exercise-related stuff. I am going to compete in a public 10 km race in a week, so I have been preparing for the last one or two months. I am also going for the German Sports Badge again this year, documenting my progress on the blog, though Gold is pretty much in the bag already, after just two sessions. I only need another Silver in a speed-based event, and the Silver time for 25m freestyle swimming is pretty easy to beat (26.5 seconds in my age group - I swam 21.45 last year).

There is still the old pushups plan, where I have reached a plateau that I have been struggling to escape for months - though I need to take it a little slower at the moment, with all the other sports-stuff going on. For now, I'm mostly just trying to keep my current progress.

I have also taken up a second job as a lifeguard at a local outdoor swimming facility, surely keeping me extra busy this summer, at least once the weather improves. And in addition to all of that and more, I am trying to somehow find the energy to get back into grinding Badugi MTTs, which have been on the back burner for a while, like the rest of poker.

Time for a surprise poker update.

Heading to a live event locally on Saturday.

€75 is the buyin, it has 1 optional re-entry and 3 hours of late reg.

Starts at 4pm with 25 minute levels.

200BBs to start but I will late reg around 5pm.

Usually gets 40-60 entries and I've never been before so no idea what to expect.

Last played live in 2018 when I qualified to a $500 event for $10 and only 2 times before that when I qualified for a $650 bounty event for $2.20 in 2012!

Looking forward to the experience and as always hope you're all doing well.

I played the poker tournament but to be honest most of it is a blur. I didn't cash is about all I remember.

The day after, my father took a sudden turn and passed away on Monday 22nd. 9.5 years after his first stroke, he passed away with all of us at his side after suffering another stroke. A reminder to us all that we are only here for a short time and to make the absolute most of it while we can.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Very sorry to hear about that. :f_cry: My own father passed away under very similar circumstances six years ago.

My thoughts are with you and your family.
