and i was going to say he looks way younger after dropping some weight
you can never know what specific you weight, there are so many compounts that impact your dirct weight.
eat pasta the evening before? if you are a big eater you can easy show 4 pounts more on the scale.
All you can track is the tendencies. if it goes down everything is good and you are on the right way.
going on the scale once a week at the same time is perfect!

former competetive bodybuilder talkin (well i took it really seriously but I'd never go on stage because... srsly? whos donger fits in those shorts? O_O)

Yeah, but if he looses more weight he will look a bit older. I personally wouldn´t loose more weight, rather I would build up more muscles, thus, reduce the body fat content.

You won't say that when/if you see the side-on one! ;)

Basically I set the challenge and had to complete it for personal reasons (self improvement to me involves mostly NOT quitting). Now I will put some weight on and build strength but not much. Just to be healthy and strong.

My grey beard doesn't make me look any younger at the moment too!!! :f_rolleyes:

Ty man, I definitely FEEL younger!!!

Yes, agree with everything you said.

It was mostly a gradual weight loss brought about by a change of lifestyle and self identity...

Definitely agree here. You should always go higher in your proteins and lower in your carbohydrates (and of course all the other crap) :f_thumbsup:

I dont like that generalization as I am a huge NO-Carbs Fan.
Raise your fats! raise ur proteins and fuck them carbs

Agree with low-carb. NO carb I just can partially agree because that doesn´t work out for everybody. But lowering your carbohydrate intake and increasing proteins and fat is a very good approach. I live on a low-carb (not ketogenic) diet too.

Well, not that I don't care about what you eat of whatever of course ;)

I agree with all your plays here except for the AJs one where I 3bet stronger and I might eventually want to probe the turn as played.

Anyway thanks, and glad to see things are slowly but steadily improving for you, keep it going like that _drink:

Those hands are indeed pretty sick! :f_rolleyes: Hope these situations don't continue. However, I think the set of sixes you should raise and not call. We just have to keep playing by default here.

Anyway, good luck for the next ride! I think you'll need it ;)

Cheers,

Hesticus :f_drink:

Haha thanks man I laughed a lot _biggrin:

I don't raise 66 flop, but I might stab the turn. Anyway it's well played and just no luck. To me the only question is wether you check back turn or not, but raising flop feels like an awful value cut.

What strikes me the most is that you open 82o from SB, wtf ?! 8-o

339 Days To Go

This is just 5 sessions over the last two weeks as I have had a family holiday and also a funeral for a close friend since I got back.

While I was on holiday I had chance to reflect on my poker journey and overall these last few months are disappointing if I look at results in money/bb's won only.

I have had quite a lot of coaching since November and my overall win rate has not improved.

HOWEVER... My coach has improved my SB win rate a lot - exactly what he set out to do. I cannot complain about it at all.

I think what has happened is that before I was just a super nit and I exploited fish/calling stations. I was hardly ever bluffing (one stab cbet and 3b bluff known folders etc) but value betting hard with the goods (though looking back now I could have bet bigger!).

Now I play wider ranges preflop (not by too much) and am in a lot more postflop situations that I am totally terrible at!

In most coaching sessions we have if we look at hands I played then my coach is basically swearing and totally exasperated at my play.

I really struggle to format thoughts about how to play my hands (never mind my range) and it seems I have some terrible thought processes (particularly postflop).

I know some of the reasons for my poor skills. Lack of intelligence, lack of common sense, not knowing what to work on, bad coaching in the past.

What I do have, however, is good self-discipline and perseverance. And a good coach.

Now it looks like we are going to spend a lot of time on my post flop thought process. Hopefully this will make a big difference over the next 2 or 3 months!

We need more volume. We need more hands to work with. We want to have a more accurate picture of win rates.

I am going to try and play 50,000 hands in May. I have no idea how the hell I am going to do that other than by sleeping less and taking less breaks etc. I will NOT play more than 2 tables.

I will post again ASAP with details of how I will get 50k hands and also some updates on my holiday and my fitness training...

Thanks for following amigos!

Hey buddy, really great story, guy with a family etc. !
Sorry to hear about your friend.

It'd be cool to feature you in https://www.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=411099&goto=firstnew
I'm sure a lot of people would like your story and you get pointers to improve to boot!

So think about it, all you have to do is record a 35-45 min video of you playing and send me a friend request.
