Ok. So this month i've got to go 25k vpps to get the 200k supernova bonus. This combined with test at uni would make for a heavy month. Some quick tips for not losing concentration?

I've been playing 6 tables of zoom since end of october and doing pretty well. 4x100+2x50.

do the studying in the morning,/afternoon then take a nap and grind

that's how I do it when I have a lot to do at university

I think studying is too exhausting to grind afterwards without at least taking a nap

I don't think this can be done for value? KTo has pretty bad equity (and playability) against a BUT calling 3b range too.

What are your preflop cold calling ranges and 3bet ranges?

If you are 3betting a depolarized top 16% or 17%, then I think your cold calling range would look pretty disgusting and it would be very hard to play as many hands as ideal.

So I can understand villain being unable to put you on a hand here. I don't really understand his flop raise either though...

Well I'm 3betting vs some players I never call from blinds. Players who ideally don't 4bet. The ones i dominate with KTo as strange as it seems. 4example a guy plays 60r/60fold/40call from BU. Why not 3bet KTo?

From the villains point of view

I think he could raise the flop to induce light floats. His raise makes no sense, he knows that and you know that so he expects you to float a lot with your wide 3betting range.

On the turn K hits your range farely well, and Its unlikley he can vbet there and get called by worse.

On the river he goes for some thin value/block bet but in his shoes Id fold to the raise since I doubt your ever bluffing with this sizing.
I guess his very tempted to call with the odds he gets.

About your pre flop gameplan;
I think its perfectly fine to have no flatting range vs some villains from the SB, but I think I always have a flatting range from BB.

Also would you mind explaining what do you mean with :
4example a guy plays 60r/60fold/40call from BU.
I dont unedrstand what do you mean with those numbers.

I meant that he is raising 60% from the button and folding 60% and calling 40% and never 4betting. Well it's extreme but say he 4bets 5% and calls 35%. How would you adjust your ranges?

Hey Erik. I'm very motivated to be doing those 25k vpps this month for the bonus. I gave up working on the mindset. I'm setting goals from time to time and following them. Then I'm changing them and so on but all mentally and it's pretty bad because I sometimes forget about them. I guess I've always been an unstable person. I want to be perfectionnist so I'm sick of following the same goals for a longer period of time because I always think about better goals and in the end lose motivation alltogether for a short period. Then I start again :) If that makes sense... Writing goals down does annoy me because of the time (wasted) but I know it's not a waste of time. It's just annoying as some work that has to be done.

I'm working on my game though. Every day. I did become better, more calm about my bankroll manangement and my decisions, but still a lot to learn.

Hi x3mwisp,

I'll be helping you out in this Boot Camp with topics like procrastination, motivation, laziness, productivity, focus while playing, putting in more volume/studying, creating habits that stick, etc.

Could you please tell me:

1) What is your #1 issue in those areas
2) What did you try so far to resolve it?
3) What worked and what didn't?

Thank you,

-Primoz

Hi Primoz, thanks for cheking out on me.

I'll describe everything about these topics and me.
To answer your questions:
1) procrastination
2) motivation/productivity
3) I didn't try many methods.

Ok.
So my weakest point is procrastination. I can't say I'm lazy because when I start working I give my best, but my problem is starting to work. I'm very good at putting in tons of volume, I'm not good at studying because I don't do it a lot. To be explicit - I'm a periodic man. I go by periods. Sometimes I work (I refer to poker) day and night with only sleep, and food so that I don't die and other times I'm just wathing everything I can (series or whatnot) or I go out everyday for 3-4-5 beers or clubbing etc. Like I'm not balanced at all. I just overdo everything by periods and am being balanced in that way. I always have motivation to be working, but not always being able to put in a lot of time. I'm always focused when playing. When I'm not focused I just don't play. I believe this is very important at NL100+. As far as creating habits that stick - I don't really know. Haven't thought about it indepth. Like I know I have a habit of smoking and drinking coffee in the morning before checking my mail and my facebook page (that's 1 min in total, really) and my blogs (somedays it's more than 10 seconds for reasons like today), and then start grinding for 2 hours. But how I did create these habits - I don't know, just common logic and didn't think about them really.

Hi x3mwisp,

that's a lot of issues, so let's focus on the most important one. In order to be able to start doign the work, I would strongly recommend you to develop a momentum routine. For more info on that, watch this short video.

Get started with that and let me know how it goes, then we can help you out with some of your other issues as well.

Ok. So I watched the video. I got bored at 7th minute because till then I found out nothing new. Just to be clear - I'm motivated, I work 6-8hours a day. I'm building momentum and concentration by things I never wrote down but I guess I have a strong will of concentration. I still watched the video till the end because I forced myself to. So now just to say in words what I'm doing for the momentum - I'm going to smoke with coffee in the morning, wash myself and think about today's plan. What I have to do. Checking mail and facebook comes before that so they don't take away momentum from me (it always takes less then 5minutes, usually it's 1 min - btw I understood you don't like facebook). Now about the momentum part - if I try to figure out which things take away the momentum - right away I stop doing them as I figure them out and I don't write down anything because I already don't do it. As soon as I stop thinking about these things - I might start redoing them but how do you actually think about the need to think about these things if you believe that thinking about these things and wathing videos about them takes you more time that you could actually for work. It's a double edged rope. Not to say what you say is not important but I believe it suits more the demotivated or depressed people who are passing through those long periods of doing nothing.

Well, I think of it more as a long-term investment. You build a system, invest a bit of time and energy into it up front, but the system keeps working for you for the next couple of years.

Of course some people get stuck with planning things and identifying things instead of taking action, but you shouldn't have isues with that.

Well, you did mention that you had issues with procrastination - what exactly do you procrastinate and why exactly do you think you're doing it?

Well I hate doing things in my house :) For example I have to repair the toilet sit or the door or whatnot and I'm always procrastinating such things which in my mind I always believe are not as important as my work which is hard and takes away all my energy.
About the long term investement sure, I aggree.

Keep up the good work!
