Barry Carter releases his 6th poker book
GTO Poker Simplified, cowritten with Dara O'Kearney, aims to make Game Theory Optimal poker accessible to the masses.
Today we are happy to announce that our editor Barry Carter has just released his 6th poker book, his 4th with Unibet Pro and PokerStrategy contributor Dara O'Kearney.
Their previous books were on niche topics - ICM, satellites and PKOs. This time around Barry and Dara have tackled arguably the biggest poker strategy topic in the modern game - GTO.
The book is called GTO Poker Simplified and it's out now.

As the name suggests, the book attempts to take the most important lessons from the solvers and make them easy to understand for all players. The topics covered include:
- Using blockers for bluffs and hero calls
- Constructing unexploitable ranges
- Optimal bet sizing strategies, from small bets to overbets
- Picking the best bluffs and value vets
- Adapting GTO strategies against fish and professionals
"Like a lot of people I was completely overwhelmed and intimidated when people would talk about Game Theory Optimal strategy," Barry told us. "however, after spending four years working with Dara I eventually realised the lessons the solvers teach us are within anyone's grasp. There really is no reason to fear GTO, if I can understand the lessons in this book, so can you."

This is our editor's 6th book. He previously wrote Poker Satellite Strategy, PKO Poker Strategy and Endgame Poker Strategy with Dara, prior to that he co-authored the best-selling Mental Game of Poker 1 & 2 with acclaimed mental game coach Jared Tendler.
"There are already two excellent books on GTO out there (Modern Poker Theory and Play Optimal Poker) as well as several excellent solvers," he continued. "but what Dara and I found from our previous books is that some players need a little bit more hand holding before they take deep dives into these subjects, and some are happy just to be told what the solvers have told us.
