The World Poker Tour have announced that the WPT World Championship will return between November 29 and December 23.
The event captured the imagination of the poker world last year with a plethora of $10,000 packages given away by influencers and in special promotions. It resulted in the $15 million guarantee being almost doubled to $29,008,000.
Canadian Eliot Hudon took the event down for $4,146,000 defeating a record-breaking field of 2,960. The event was so popular that it beat the WSOP Main Event to the Event of the Year title at the Global Poker Awards this month.
“The WPT World Championship festival was such an extraordinary milestone during our 20th season last year, thanks to our partner Wynn Las Vegas and the enthusiastic support of the players,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “It is our hope that we have started a tradition in poker that we can enhance and add to each season. We look forward to making this year’s World Championship even more memorable for players.”
The World Championship event will take place between December 12-18. There will also be a WPT Prime Championship between December 7-12 and a WPT Ladies Championship between December 12-18. A Mystery Bounty event will take place between December 18-21, with more events announced very soon.
It will once again take place at the Wynn Hotel & Casino.
No doubt the World Poker Tour will build on the hype around this event in 2022 by giving away lots of packages on social media, so now is a great time to start following poker's influencers on Twitter and Instagram.
